  • @IXGQ4LifeXI yes wasnt clear on who made by at first. but true.. still good to see a gm powertrain though.. ls7/ ls9 still pretty nice to see gm getting in there

  • had never heard of this car until today! didnt know they even had these go GM!

  • @tylers6warner1 Made by Factory Five Racing

  • @tylers6warner1 ur an idiot

  • @tylers6warner1 - This isnt a GM car.

  • I just really wonder about the safety of these things...I guess I'd have to drive it like a motorcycle...expect a bad outcome in a crash...be more careful.

  • @soccerpeve They built like race car. Tubular chassis and five point harness

  • I'm one of the drivers of the Factory sponsered GTM. The worlds only race GTM that is currently being fielded. These cars are beyond fun to drive. You can see some of our in car videos by searching "durbin gtm" or just "myraceshop". These really are race cars that can be driven on the street!

  • want the gtm to go really fast contact tom nelson of nelson racing engines. vids on you tube amazing check it out .

  • Does surprise me that builders would use Chevy and Porsche products together, they are tough as nails parts.

  • Summit Piont. lol

Anyway, awesome video about an awesome car.

  • when did californication become a trance song?

  • GM's Corvette ZR1 is the fastest (and most expensive) production car they have ever made. If you could get your hands on one of those engines to put into a GTM...

  • @HaystackKiller Doesnt fit, engine bay is too small for it.

  • @HaystackKiller yeah, the L98 in this car would be INCREDIBLE..... but it's way too big. shame.

  • @HaystackKiller the engine inside the zr1 is the ls9. and its readily available to order for 21-25 grand. and i have heard of some people putting lsa's, ls7's and ls9's inside gtm's.

  • @spakdiddy how does LS-A's and LS-9's fit? with having front located throttle bodies. i could see a LS-A or LS-9 long block with a aftermarket rear entrance supercharger. cheaper to supercharge a LS-3 with the same results

  • what's the song on the background?

  • You do realize that the song name does pop up on the screen asking you if you want to buy it...

    Aardvark - Forever (Long Edit)

  • Nice video. Needs a little Gramatical improvement.

  • This car, in blue, with an AMG 6.3 V8!! of course the engine probably costs the same as the kit itself. LOL Looks like I got some saving up to do!

  • Have them send you there DVD...

    they will.

  • I'd love to build one of these some day, maybe a little Dodge inspired, with a Viper engine.

  • the LS7 engine is more than a second faster going 0-60 and if you program the timing yourself to its best, im sure it could be a competitor with the Veyron on acceleration, not top speed though. (Veyron 0-60 in 2.6 i believe, top speed 254 mph)

  • I never said the LS7 wasn't fast in them, I'm actually a Chevy guy. I just like the Viper engine. It'd be neat to throw in a twin turbo Viper engine. Considering the GTM is so light, a nice 1,000-1,500 Horsepower would make it a very strong Maxton Mile competitor.

  • yeah. I was at the philly auto show and picked up the little booklet for the GTM and fell in love with it. ive liked cobra kit cars but theyre like $50k just for the kit with no engine. and the idea of building your own car gives it much more appeal than a car off any lot. if i had the money for it, this is the first thing id buy. put a nice engine in it, whatever i can get fast and swap it later for something better

  • @BumbleBeeGS factory five's cobra starts at $12,900 and can be completed with a 87-2004 mustang, so if you have a mustang you can build a cobra for less than $20,000

  • @BumbleBeeGS the LS7 gtm is the 2nd fastest car ever tested by car and driver in 0-60 mph and 7th fastest in the quarter mile. 2nd only to the veyron is great for a kitcar

  • Comment removed

  • I ahve the DVD from them, I think I want to do this or something similar when I'm older with a workshop and money.

  • what is that banging sound (plz reply)

  • Backfire no cross tubes

  • ok thanks

  • Tu meny speeling eerors

  • the great song starts at the 2nd minute...what is its name??

and as all we know...LS sereis gives a big output from a cheap input

    thanx man

  • "Californication" - The Red Hot Chili Peppers

    is the song name :)

  • what do you ned to beat most supercars, is a good power to weight ratio, good tires, brakes and a stiff frame.. btw, try spell check first. lol, suspension is spelled wrong. nice vid, awesome car too. id love some seat time in that thing.

  • @realdeal7369 and parts to take the abuse

  • This is about having something non garden variety. I'll take a hand built super exotic at 40 grand over your vette any day.

  • He could buy a used corvette, if he wanted a car that's about 1000 lbs heavier with the same horsepower.

  • So Factory Five has someone that can't spell for squat advertising for them? Is what we can expect from the quality of their cars?

  • On this site is a video of one of these that was rolled at just under 110mph the cab was still in good shape considering it rolled. I think the driver could have walked away granted it didn't snap his neck. With that said... They offer something other supercars don't. Safety.

  • For the price of an LS7 you could just save a few bucks and build up an LS1 to MORE whp than the LS7 makes. Hell...$1500-2000 for an LS1 and about $5000 for a 600whp engine build and you'd be set!

  • I was going to say.. a LS1 out of a wrecked 2002 WS6 T/A. Build it up and TT it. There's enough room in the engine compartment, so it seems.

  • Or someone could just buy a used Corvette - WTF?

  • the weight difference between the GTM and a corvette is substantial. Thats why the GTM has better handling, top speed and acceleration (if that's not obvious to you).

  • @cdsplaya lol

  • @quuaa1 doesnt that go without saying? wtf

  • I wonder what would win. an ls7 GTM or a Lingenfelter Corvette.

  • the gtm easily... much lighter.

  • just think what a Lingenfelter GTM could do

  • I want one, and I'm planning on building one when I can save up the money. My only problem is... what's that clunking noise when he applies the brakes? Is that wheel interference? Suspension over-travel? Anti-lock brakes?

  • It's the engine backfiring. Camera just doesnt pick up the sound well.

  • I will have you know that most 16 year-olds have very good grammar. so piss off.

  • Awesome car, decent video.

Only one thing - learn to spellcheck.

  • anybody know the song at the end

  • it's red house from Jimmi Hendrix(live)

  • i think this one runs an LS7.....

  • It says LS6 in first paragraph.......

  • yeah it also says "suspention" lol

  • very good

  • Those Porsche's and Ferrari's were just driving quite casualy, put a driver with balls into a F360 and it would be a far greater challenge. Anyway the GTM is awesome for the money and a very desirable racer being a light mid engined V8. I certainly would love to own one. A supercar for the masses. Also check out the AMS Murtaya and maybe the K1 Attack.

  • Man this kit car will be customized to no end, nice work...

  • wow, powered by an LS1 possibly?

  • either an ls2 or an ls6, or possibly except rare an ls7

  • Awesome video, two things, being and already. Simple spelling errors. Badass car though.

  • Haha, im a hardcore forum poster (i have no life) an i usually laugh at the grammer police as ppl who are even MORE loser than me, amazing huh... BUT... i gotta say those errors were stOOpid, not the usual your/you're but really craptastic...

  • wow!!!!!! this is impress me iwant to order today thnk u to crate this car build by the american now i can beat all my frend driving ferrari ..lol big surprise to those guy.. lol weeeepeeeee thnx! factory five ur machine r so amasing n powerful thnk u !!!

  • american r so super smart ilike this car is nice price for onli 45 k cool iwant to have 1 nice !

  • Whats that clunking sound its making while on the track?

  • Don't worry, that's just the pride of the Ferrari and Porsche owners hitting the ground.

  • backfires...

  • it resembles the ford gt too much

  • I wish i could see it in person... Love the engine sound and how it performs, handling, speed flying by porsches and ferraris, However i am not yet convince about the designer idea of the Kit. So far looks the front of Ford GT, Sides of Carrera GT and Back on the Unfinished Ford GT. Also the rims they should of advertise with some up-dated rims designs, looks like an old car...But i maybe wrong may be in person is awesome.... If it is i will put my money in this sport Kit car...

  • Funny how the front end looks almost identical to the Ford GT.

  • Nice video and nicer ride!! I found out about this car on friday and am very impressed. FFR is highly regarded in the specialty constructed vehicle industry. Rightly so I see. Good music too!!! Congrats on a nice unique ride playa!!!

  • ps dont tell ANYONE!!! well reporters anyway

  • This is some bulls!@#$ Im working with GM and were making a carline name GTM stands Global Tecnology Motors We have four cars in production the super car with a v-12 is called a 380XD thumb down if you want to but im telling the truth -Dakahri manager

  • Your grammar and typing skills say otherwise. Like maybe a 16 year old twat.

  • haha yea its not hard to beat a GT3 when you get a wave by...

  • Do you think it really mattered? He would have passed the GT3 whether the owner wanted him to or not.

  • Fuck that. I can go faster on my bike.

  • Awesome!

  • Nice FFR car... FFR kits looks much better than the British kit car Ultima GTR.

  • This is really boring, I stopped watching it.

  • dude ur fuking retarded this car is FUKING AWSOME

  • i pretty much just "discovered" this car today, and man, i've been looking at it all day. i was wondering if any ones thrown some turbos on a set up like this. a nice lil pair of twins would be evil.

  • That would be insane.

  • pure evil. the funnist kind!

  • And when people see it they say "nice eclipse"

  • 653HP won't mean much unless it can handle like the GTM

  • problem is when you add up everything to make the car a supercar, you could just buy a new Z06...

  • yeah but this car out performs the Z06... if you are willing to spend 59K USD... it will tie/outperform an enzo, murcielago, porche GT ford GT and an S7 Twin Turbo. or atleast fall in the same range. C&D did that test and the price as tested was 59k USD

  • yeah its 59k once u finish building it, but hte kit itself cost 20k a friend of mine owns two of them and man are they fast and sweet, and im getting one. this car can outperform a ferrari, of a lambo,

  • The real-world weight on the GTM is between 2,300 and 2,400 lbs (as posted on Factory Five's website). That is using stock Corvette parts for much of the kit, so could easily be brought down by going with lighter (and stronger) aftermarket parts.

The LS7 car, using the 6 spd transaxle, has posted a 0-100 mph (160 km/h) time of 7 seconds. It's not cheap though. That car cost $63,000 to build, compared to the $43,000 the LS6 car cost.

  • It costs 12500 for a NEW brand new LS7 engine.... whered you get your figures. thats a 7 thousand difference if you buy the engines NEW not 20,000.

  • superb video, much better looking than the ultima gtr-especially like the rear views, not heard of this in the u.k.

  • I disagree, i fine the interior of this car is nicer, but the ultima gtr has smoother curves that arn't as square and boxy looking. Still a nice car for the cost thou. Personally i'd still go with the slightly more expencive ultima gtr.

  • SLIGHTLY? ITS like 87 thousand for a finished GTR!!!

    THIS is 40,000

YOUR ON CRACK and this has sexay lines where the ultima is fugly. the ultima has a TINY cockpit and is horribly built for the cash in comparison. Give me this car anyday. This is lighter , cheaper, sexier, and better in everyway. I mean seriously....its fugly...!

  • wow great video and car!im building a racer/road car in my garage very unique only 2 shells that i know of

performance is going to be awsome with over 600bhp per tonne putting it into the porsche 962 zone!

0-60 under 3 seconds mid engine subaru twin turbo

i'll put some vid's up 'spirit TA twin turbo GTR'

all being built for under 20k usd.!

  • pwned!!!

  • As far as I know FFR has the only SCCA legal competition MKIII Cobra roadster. Also, at 2250 lbs, and using a Corvette engine and suspension (Along with a prshe transaxle + G50 or variant) this car could easily beat any number of supercars, and it would cost a lot less to do so. Not to mention the raw customizability of it. GTM - Have it your way! Haha.

  • =] I like the car overall. It is relatively easy to obtain a G50 transaxle, you can obtain a C5 donor for around 5-6k$, and the kit is about only 20 thousand dollars, making it an "affordable supercar"... it may not perform like an (expensive) Ultima GTR, but i like it =].

  • Wouldn't the GTM supercar be using a G50 transaxle from a Porsche 911, rather than a C5 transmission? (Considering that the GTM Supercar is a mid-engine car unlike the Corvette C5 ZO6 which is a front-mounted-engine-car...just wondering.

  • 2200lbs ls series vette motors ls2/6/7(not yet)

cost so far has been average $45,000us.

405hp/2200lbs = 10.888 est (gearing etc changes that)

  • They don't say how much it weighs. Guess 2000lb

  • 2250 it says at the beginning...

  • The body looks very cheap and kitcar-ish, especially the front end. The back looks great, but the front just looks terrible to me.

  • all i got to say is when i get a good enough payin job iam gettin one and throwin in a lingenfelter twin turbo 427

  • but dam fast none the less

  • the car sounds all rattely and like its cracking...

  • My dream car.

  • Congaman, this is the backflaming in the exhaust of non-burned fuel (sometimes you'll see the flames getting out of the exhaust) ... this is nothing unusual for a Supercar pushing it on the Track...

  • but even if he wouldn't have raise his arm and try to step it... he would have been humiliated... but you're right... no wonder... look at the HP/Weight ratio of both cars... to have the same ratio with a GT3, you'll need 554 HP... don't forget, here we're comparing the "weaker" LS6... if you wanna match the HP/weight ratio to a LS7 GTM in a GT3 you'll need 700 HP...

  • pandabeat... racing is braking and cornering, and not straight out performance...1st:look how fast he gets behind the GT3. 2nd:look at the cornerspeed... bryan is not even near to the limit of the gtm, while the gt3 is already loosing traction (with its semi-slicks)...

  • What is that knocking sound you can hear from the car in every turn?

  • Of course it wasn't challenging (that 996 GT3), you can see the left arm of the Porsche driver sticking out of the window making the signal to Bryan to pass him...

    DUH!

  • the GTM is in developing since almost 4 years and they spared no costs... even testing it in the world biggest s wind tunnel. the GTM is on marked since 2005... so a very short time... but even in such a early stage, the first GTMs who hit the tracks, just blow everything away. 1 more thing... Bryan Dobyns is using normal street tires in the showed test sessions... they'll get only better and faster...

  • you know trondravne... there'll be always be haders around... think of this... there are even racing series of ffr cobras... i dont think that ffr would have reached the status of the world's largest manufacturer of Cobra replicas if they could not be trust...

  • Is this the factory five supercar? I heard Curt Scott saying fatory five was not to be trusted...
