No one does it like Keith Jarrett.... the emotion the expression... he just plays it like he feels it... what an awesome piece of music.... I love it..
BELLISIMo trabajo ¡¡ mañana 12/04/2011 va a estar solo en buenos aires en el Teatro Colon . que pena estar tan lejos a 1.800 km en la patagonia argentina. de cualquier manera un lujo poder apreciar estos videos
But this performance is different from song in "The melody at night, with you" I found this live version in DVD "Solo Tribute: The 100th Performance in Japan "
@cleanupinaisle3 I don't know if any single composition can hold that title, but I do know that a profoundly talented vocalist in a septet of which I was a member did this tune before a break with just me, bass, and drums and had half the band in tears before it was over. No joke. It can make a grown man cry.
Keith Jarret always tells me a musical story I want to hear...in the very way I want to hear it. His playing, touch and beautiful harmonic voicings and movements of voices open up an inner world hard to get to feeling-wise unless he is playing. Love the he finishes this with a hymn/church-like thing.
@fvavl Keith is condemned he has to play what he feels if you look at him in a video you will see his purity he is my favorite artist I have grew up in jazz Coltrane, miles ,grant green , Freddie Hubbard, pharaoh sanders and one thing is clear that Kieth has always maintain his flow
@hambrickdetroit That's a very impressive array you listed there... Hat's off to ya. I see I would be completely comfortable at your house without lugging a suitcase of my own music selections with me... LOL
WOW! Keith Jarrett! I had a few of his records back in the day...70's,80's...he is so good! Thank you for honoring him with this video, and this great, great song. Nice stuff!
I'm sure it is not a mistake, you just forgot, and yes I love Oscar Peterson since I was almost a kid, he was amazing, I miss him a lot, along with all the other greats that unfortunately left us, Michael Brecker, Joe Zawinul, Ray Brown, and the list is sadly much bigger, and I'm also forgeting someone great!!!
Thank you for finally being the person that perfectly describes Keith Jarrett. I've been searching for a way, for a long time now, to describe Keith in simple, poetic, and beautiful, terms. "He does not play (the) music, he is the music". Thank you.

This version is good. But Joe Zawinulsversion at the Offenbach-consert in the 70´s is much better.
