Hell id be happy with just being able to learn to play the guitar like that hehe I gave up trying on guitars along time back, its just one of lifes things that it seems ill never grasp the basics of. Maybe ill try again someday, i mean i wouldnt mind but id have been happy just to play that one song now and then on my own, i wasnt looking to have sell out gigs or anything lol. personally thought this was excellent and im very quick to get annoyed if a song of such power and has such emotional connecting abilities as this is ruined. I was able to think about all the crap and the good that lifes chucked my way, the same issues and things on my mind as i would have done listening to the original on cd. I didnt think about major things but i dont every time i hear the song anyway and so to me personally this was an excellent job of the best song ever written.

I shenlingstyle, unfortunately I never actually learned how to do it (i play by ear), so my best advice to you is just keep playing and focus on the timing, without worrying about which strings to pick out, etc. you will develop your ear and things will just sound better to you and you will go there instinctively with time, just don't concentrate on what you're doing too much, kind of like typing, don't think, just do it lol

The original of this tune sounds like an aspirin commercial or something Tears for Fears left on the cutting room floor.

This version made the hairs on my arms stand up. This is so much better than the Stipe/R.E.M rendering it isn't funny.

Sweetheart, I have heard thousands of singers in my time (and that is no exaggeration) and whatever constitutes an "it factor" you have it. You need to get yourself a band and lose the day job (if it doesn't pay well) and do music full time.

I think this song is meant not to depress or discourage someone who is down but to relate and encourage someone to hang in there and be more positive, so in that sense I feel it needs to come across as empathique and motivational and passionate.
