It was recorded with the AKG D112 inside the kick, pretty much in the middle.

in terms of eq, it was scooped in the middle range and had a closed-q boost on the high range

in terms of compression I think it was something with a ratio of 4:1 with fast attack. maybe some multiband compression as well.

it is also well balanced with the room sound, that's why you get a deeper, fatter sound, that you would get just with the close miking.

Triggers/ samples emulate good or steady sounding beats. And its not that complicated that we couldn't do it ourselves with only a drummer, a good drumkit, some nice mics and some mixing engineering techniques. We didn't use triggers or samples. We just know what we're doing.

We used AKG D112 on bass drum, through a Focusrite preamp, eq'd and compressed.

Never heard him before, but definitely Daniel Cardoso is tough not only as a musician but also as a mixed engineer! Cool music, cool sound. But from this video you can't get an idea what is the real sound of ddrum dios bubinga - everything is miked, compressed etc.

Dude I just bought a ddrum for not that much and it KICKS ASS they a great company ( wonder why so many artists are endorsing them!) But i didnt know the bubinga sounded that great. How much are they? 3000? 4000? Bubinga is ussually pricey especially when made well.
