Strangest tropo I ever saw was abt 1980 from a local Philly relay for ch 41 WXTV Patterson NJ (might have been ch38). XTV was off the air and WSLS 10 tripped the relay. I assumed they had a lp translator on 41 setting off the local translator. I called the station and they said they didn't have anything on 41. Shortly after that it was replaced by WCAU 10. Never found where that ch 10 to ch 41 relay was, but WCAU making a round trip of 500 or more miles and three transmitters was amazing.
@Chenoholic88, hello. I have posted videos on my channel showing all the markets that I got from Philly. Just check out my channel and search my videos. Most of my early videos are TV DX. Thank you for looking at my videos!
@TechnerVideo You think you're the only one who could get channels from other markets? I live near the Mammoth Cave area in Kentucky and I usually get Bowling Green and Nashville area channels, but I also once had signals from Evansville Indiana, Louisville, and 1 or 2 in Lexington. One time I even got reception on WBXX channel 20 in Knoxville!
I highly doubt one could do that these days, what with new technology and all. Sad. I loved DXing as a kid (picking up Chicago, Cleveland, Erie, and Pittsburgh stations in Detroit) I miss those days. :-(
It is still on Channel 15 :) They just have a new logo.

Philadelphia (and NYC/Baltimore/DC) is relatively flat land with lots of waterways, which only helped to amplify DX signals. Good job on your DXing!

Was this the only time you ever received a signal from a Hampton Roads station?
