  • Absolutely genius track

  • fuck!

    i love this song \m/

  • Wow!

"The pseudo deaths I've been going through

And remembrance of the past catches my soul

The truth is raped, Escape the world that I knew

And remembrance of this future catches my soul"

  • One of Sigh's weirdest yet best. Love this song <3

  • "Don't belong, to the world before your eyes"

  • Que buena rola

  • this album is amazing on so many levels.

  • Badass band, they enter to my list of favorite bands.

  • I only own gallows gallery from them, but after listennig some other stuf from different albums..... it's completely different! I must get all of their albums.

  • @sdfaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hangmans hymn is fucking excellent too highly recomend it if you can track it down

  • God I love this band...a band that literally made me say, "What the fuck did I just hear?" out loud to myself in public.

I enjoy being confused by my music...

  • I love how randomly it turns into a reggae song.

  • the break down at 3:43 is where its AT!!!!

  • is it me or is that john lennon at the bottom for the cover

  • Born on earth... raised in hell... living for heaven... dying with the stars

  • This band is fuckin sick... i listened to them a long time ago and forgot about them.. and then just now though of them again... glad i remembered them. haha.

  • its not bad..but i still think dir en grey is better

  • WAT-

  • @soulridder Don't get me wrong, I love Dir en grey, but they should not be compared to Sigh. If anything, (early) Sigh should be compared to early 90's Norwegian black metal.

  • @LordRumpusaurus no worries mate

  • Comment removed

  • @furakkueroru Eh, not really feeling it. To be fair, most of what I've been listening to recently has been Nokturnal Mortum's "Voice of Steel", Vit's "-" (yes, the album title is a hyphen) and Vintersorg's "Solens Rötter".

  • @LordRumpusaurus Yep Nocturnal Mortem from Ukraine I used to have 2 of their CDs in the 90's.

  • Comment removed

  • @furakkueroru Yes, but the atmosphere Bal-Sagoth goes for is entirely different. They both rule though \m/

  • @LordRumpusaurus I'd compare Sigh atm with Ihsahn, since Ihsahn has somewhat the same idea, although Sigh likes to be more out there with their musical choices.

  • @soulridder 2 completely different bands and genres dude

  • @soulridder Ya know I was just think about these 2 bands to day and I think that its reverse. Why becusa Sigh can scream all show from the start of there carrer(sorry cant spell) and Dir En Gray could not. Though Dir En Gray dose have some decent vocals( aside form 2007 when Kyo fucked up his voice)

  • @chaoarecool everyone has different opinions and different taste. i prefer dir en grey because of the lyrics and sound. i can relate to it and i think uroboros was the best album ive listen to in my life even better than metallica's black album but that doesnt mean, sigh isnt good. i like it too but prefer dir en grey thats all.

  • holy damn. first time listening to Sigh. Love it!

  • Ok. this is now my favorite song.

  • SUCH AN UNDERRATED BAND!!!!! Kick ass avant-garde metal song!

  • Good stuff

  • i know ...

  • *sigh*... I need to listen to more Sigh!

  • Wow. That's pretty sick stuff there.

  • dont know where you get off on calling this black metal, but its fucking awesome nonetheless.

  • they were black metal and they slowly moved to this

  • i know.

  • Nice japanese Black metal band ! :D I love japan !

Je veux aller au japon !!!! :D

  • @Vanestin111 Japan doesn't love you. Or any other foreigner to tell the truth.

  • 3:43 is the best part!

  • fuckin' great , hail Sigh

  • I AM THE SUN

    I AAAM THE MOOON

  • @xDeathInFirex BORN IN HEAVEN AND RAISED IN HELL!

  • wow. this is simply amazing.

  • Don't believe what you hear with your ears

Don't believe in the fate that you fear

I am blind but I know the truth is here

I am deaf but I know Revelation coming near

  • Tabbing out the solo now!

  • This is the legendary black metal band Sigh?? ... Sounds like the good old (new wave) 80s xDD

  • This is the one and only!

  • @IchStehDraussen

This song of theirs is Experimental Metal (Avant-Garde Metal) as well as Black Metal, they are Avant-Garde.

  • @IchStehDraussen Sigh like to fuck with peoples heads musically.

  • @Sabin41 as opposed to me who likes to skullfuck people :)

  • good enought :]

  • japenese black metal this is fun!

  • The beginning looks like Daath

  • I like the regge breakdown near the end X3 (or however you spell it)

  • So would it be accurate to compare this song, lyrically, with Iron Maiden's "The Clairvoyant"?

  • No... that's not it at all...

  • It's like the eye that psychics can use to see the future and things like that

  • just so you know, the 3rd eye is a form of meditation. it opens youre mine to the truth, its the all seeing eye to understand everything.

  • Amazing music, kinda cool how much they've evolved, huh? :o

  • strange

  • Other bands viewers of this might like? ANything on the End Records I guess ... Dir en Grey, Tool, Deftones, In Flames, Opeth, Neurosis, Isis, Rosetta, Giant Squid, Between the Buried and Me, Mastodon ... Nine Inch Nails? Hell, I guess I like too much ... random... oh, and jazz. Lots of Coltrane and Miles Davis.

  • in a way it kinda sounds like stoner metal

  • the 3rd eye?? you mean the penis?

  • SlayerMaidenEnemy

you just said bands you you know...u suck

  • no i rule

  • these guys were black metal in the early days; i think they were even signed to deathlike silence records (the late euronymous' label)

  • Comment removed

  • I was just wondering what kind of people like sigh... What kind of bands do you like besides sigh? (If you are a sigh fan)

  • i like iron maiden, between the buried and me, opeth, protset the hero, horse the band, kalmah pineapple theif etc

  • i like the new darkthrone, immortal & emperor, mr. bungle of course, stolen babies is another good one, dillinger, dream theater, cynic & atheist go good with this type of music, and of course MELVINS!!!

  • Nirvana, Slayer, Eminem, Cannibal Corpse, My Chemical Romance, Jimi Hendrix, Alice In CHains, Anal Cunt

  • pretty much anything... love a bit of rap, rock, old rock, any style of metal you care to mention...

really loving all shall perish and BtBaM atm

  • Ween,Primus,Wolves In The Throne Room, Old Darkthrone, Burzum, Onheil...

  • Is there any other bands like SIGH? Arcuturus is sometimes something like sigh... Any other?

  • you mean avandgarde bands

it is for example : Kekal, Pin-Up Went Down, Unexpect,Stolen Babies , Ephel Duath, Fantômas ,Diablo Swing Orchestra,Akphaezya , atrox, Gire,......

  • I didn't know about Kekal, Pin-Up, Akphaezya, Atrox and Gire. I checked them all, and I found my new favorites :D Thanks, angroment :D

  • thank you also angroment!

  • Sigh is the best band ever and this is one of their best songs. Can't wait for the new album "Scenes from Hell/Tempore Belli/Vanitas"

  • If you like something "avant-garde" you like something that goes beyond the normal boundaries in a genre. Toby Driver has many projects where he definitely makes the term experimental a reality. It's not one to say though if you like Sigh that you'll like other bands that are avant-garde in their own sense (eg people recommending Arcturus yet Garm's vocals were nothing like what you'd find here).

Btw, gonin-ish are horrid, I absolutely hated that band, but hey, different strokes I guess.

  • @Juanoob Toby Driver is my new idol. Granted, I still prefer the collaborated work when he was in maudlin of the Well, but I'm coming to really love his new ventures with Kayo Dot and other projects.

  • @deadpisser88 Dude, Toby's best metal work is on Choirs of the Eye and Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue (Marathon, the Antique, Gemini Becoming the Tripod and Aura on an Asylum Wall), followed by 'Riseth He, The Numberless' on 'Leaving Your Body Map', and then the rest of maudlin of the Well.

  • @elgaed69 motW to me was much more out there and experimental (and rightfully so). Their direction was all driven by the assumption that they acquired the music from the "astral plane", hence their lucid dream experiments. And the metal that blended with all the genres that they "found" was just so god damn enjoying. Kayo Dot is much more focused and orchestrated. Ideally less avant-garde than motW. Still awesome though, bro. Choirs of the Eye is great. I wanna check out Stained Glass.

  • If you like avantgarde BM, check Arcturus (with HH on drums!)

  • hellhammer was part of arcturus?

    =D

  • yeah, he has played on a ton of their albums.

check out his background....so many fucking albums he's played on.

    it's insane.

  • cool this band... is this avant garde... i'm informing myself abot this genre but i can't hear it

for now i'll listen to them :)

  • Fucking awesome!

Imaginary Sonicscape is definitely one of the best albums ever!

  • o.o;;

  • Hmmm this is really interesting. Can anyone roughly date this band for me plz?

  • roughly 'date'? well, they've been going since 1989/90 and released the first album in 1993 I think, and hopefully they'll keep on going.

  • this stuff destroys false prophets of extreme metal

  • love the reggae-influenced breakdown at 3:40 XD

  • I wouldn't call it reggae personally - I've read a lot that they bring Jazz and funk into their music, particularly in this album. A bit like Opeth partway through 'Lotus Eater'.

  • that sounds like reggae...

  • Okay, I take it back. I was probably reluctant to accept that it's reggae without knowing that they liked it (not a fan of reggae myself), but I think Mirai has said something about reggae. I think that part's reggae, jazz and metal alonside each other - the keyboard playing over it is quite jazzy - a bit Jan Hammer-ish.

  • Fair enough. I myself am a fan of all genres. And I mean all. Death metal, black metal, acoustic, reggae, hip-hop, jazz, you name it, I like it.

  • The interclude has kind of typical reggae upbeat rhythm.

  • haha this owns tr00 black metal. way more intelligence and atmosphere imho

  • I agree. There are many genres - punk, death metal black metal etc. - where the 'classic bands' are mostly rubbish, but these genres give birth do post- bands (post punk, post BM) who are excellent.

  • that's exactly it dude. nice username too, though i much prefer old IF to new IF

  • thanks, well my username is really out of date...If i made one now, it would probably be sigh related, as they're the first band I have favoured over all others for ages

  • Let us not forget the all mighty Arcturus....

  • Sigh is my favorite band.Theres nothing better than advant garde black metal.

  • advant? ^^ It's french buddy, 'avant'.

But Sigh are amongst the best. Haven't found a single band like them.

  • Excellent band, probably the best of their kind. Avant-garde black metal. <3 If you want something similar try Gonin-Ish and Unexpect. Great bands, you'd probably like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Idiot Flesh and any of Toby Driver's projects as well (maudlin of the Well/Kayo Dot).

  • Oooh Maudlin of the Well is bloody awesome.

The only bands I haven't yet checked are Gonin-ish and idiot Flesh. Something tells me I'll have to do it soon, if they're anything compared to Unexpect and the like. :p

  • Well Gonin-Ish is a Sigh side-project and Idiot Flesh was the band before Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. So they should please. =P

  • holy shit! =D

  • Can't wait to see them at the Meridian! XD

  • wut the hell is this type of music its differ but good

  • thanks dude

  • Thank you so much for putting this up! I lost all of my Sigh albums (including scorn defeat) due to a virus on my computer.
