The title of the music is ''MYTHODEA'' and the composer is the Greek (my co-patriot) Vaggelis Papathanasiou. It is one of the best musical pieses EVER, and suits perfectly to the video we see. MYTHODEA (in greek: Μυθωδία) song was also selected by NASA for the mission to Mars in 2001.

We trailed up Mesilau and trailed down Timpohon. I fulfilled my summit dream at the Golden age of 50, last April 10, 2009, Good Friday, with my unica ija together with our Team from Philippines. Unfortunately my girl twisted her left knee just before Laban Rata but she never surrendered, she managed to rapell, climb and made it to the peak but it injured her knee more, that's why she was trailing down in a stretcher carried by 4 guides. I like your video, it is inspiring!

I have to say this is a great and inspiring video. I made it to Laban Rata but could not go to summit because our clothes were all wet. Coincidentally that day the weather was bad so sunrise not so great I heard. Hope to climb again soon.

Been there previous year.

Our climb was terrible, instead of a sunrise we got a rainrise.

It rained all the way up an all the way down.

We were there in december, rainingseason.

If you are planning a climb, try to choose a good day. Look at the wetherforcasts.

because the weather can make and can break it.

Thanx for your comment. It is advisable to reserve laban rata accomodation early as the number of beds are quite limited up there. Usually the peak season is somewhere between April and September (summer holiday). Hope you will have a fantastic climb. Do share with me if you capture any video of your climb. Thanx.

Well, I just read about the tale of St. John's Peak at Wikipedia website. An interesting local myth about a woman's body being turned into a stone by the spirit of mountain, but not sure about its truth. Anyway, I only noticed that peak looks like a smiling ape facing to the west.

It would be really really tough for me to climb in just one day ! I prefer to climb at my own pace and enjoy the beautiful scenery around ! FYI, last year 2006 climbathon record was 2hrs & 51mins of summit and return by a Mexican named Ricardo Mejia!

I watched your video after posting my own last week, great stuff. To be honest, I did not expect the climb to be that hard, but now I can see that it makes sense to stay in the lodge overnight, and not do it all in one day as we did. The view is better at sunrise as well !

Cheers, man! Some of the names are real and some are not. Low's Peak, South Peak & The Sacrifice Pool are definitely real places. Smiling Ape Rockface, Wishing Hands, Soul Dance of the Gnarled Trees & etc, are just the expressions which I 'decoded' from my imagination sight. Well, thanx so much for viewing.

Enjoyed this slide show. And the fact that you showed many parts of the mountain top area, all of the rocks, etc. Beautiful work. Doesn't Kinabalu have a small glacier near the summit somewhere? Or am I wrong? I know that it was glaciated during the last Ice Age. Does it have a glacier now?

Thanx for your comment. There are no more glacier on the summit. All that we see now is the smooth plateau resulted from the ice age glacier.
