  • is this actually dolphin kick? is there actual rule limiting its usage?

  • Can somebody explain to me the reason to DQ on purpose?! (but it's freakin cool)

  • @fonsholm

Most of the time it's if you don't care about the race or you want to show off.

  • @fonsholm maybe he wanted to piss off his coach

  • Like if u think this should be an Olympic event

  • That actually used to be legal about 20 or so years ago. you were required only 1 stroke above the water. but THIS is the reason they don't allow it. its to good

  • GEEZUS

  • Outside Smoke!

  • LOWL WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i dont think i'm wrong, im sure there were a handful of swimmers who made there be a limit to how much you can swim underwater. Im sure denis pankratov was one of them. And misty hyman as well.

  • omfg dats crazy im 14 and my fastest time on the 50 was 29.3 but i never swam in a pool that didnt require flip turn ( and im black/Egyptian so give me props) i could also do all the strokes im an IM'er

  • him and ryan lochte are the fastest for sure.

    Thats Hill Taylor btw.

yeahhh...... my friends were there said it was MIND blowing lol

  • JESUS CRISTO!

  • I wonder how fast Micheal Phelps could do this in

  • OMFG ! Is that legal?

  • sorry DQ

  • hahahahaha! I can't stop laughing. :D He's a fishie!

  • what's this? world record?

  • @DcCornnnnn no, this does not count, he cheated.

  • LMFAO that's hilarious.

  • did he get DQ'd? i thot u wer only allowed to go 15 meters/yards under water... dude thts cool

  • yeah but those fast suits DID help the underwaters most

  • es válido sólo pateo delfín en una competencia en estilo espalda????

  • I can beat him

  • Nice

  • It says on the side: Ryan Lochte fastest 50m underwater swim ever 25 secs" when this guy did it in 23! ????

  • i gonna do this my next 50m backstroke i swear it! :D

  • The little black mark on the lane lines at the beginning is the 15 meter mark where you must surface for those who want to know

  • Here comes Flipper Flipper

  • Holy Cheese!! :)

  • HE HAS FLIPPER ON

  • what the possibility of me doing that and how long would it take to learn

  • is that even allowed??

  • @4EverNaturalLover Its illegal but he didnt care

  • Dayum that guy just trolled hard.

  • DAMMM FISHBOYY

  • desqualificated

  • @TheRightNeutrino

And? Speeding is illegal? Doing drugs is illegal? Maybe his coach told him to, or maybe he just wanted to for the hell of it. I don't see a video on here of you doing it.

  • he even says it was a DQ

  • MY HAND IS A DOLPHIN

  • He should be disqualified for that! You're not aloud to swim more than 15 meters underwater!!

  • @cmo1990 agreed with you...I thought there was a 15m limit to your being under water ??

  • f**k !

  • He beat ryan lochte's record of 25 seconds in the related videos

  • It's illegal!

  • The announcer even said he was gonna get disqualified but he was underwatet so he couldnt hear it, you can only swim underwater like that until the 15 meter mark, if u pass thar ur out

  • So what's the world record for swimming underwater anyway? I guess that's why he did it, so he could get an "official" time for it.

The world record for Men's 50m Underwater Swim - Hill Taylor 23.10

  • Actually i think this is a 50 yards pool not meters, how old is he anyway ?

  • @NamlaZz It's 50 meters. 50 yard pools are very rare now and they are not competed in.

  • @NamlaZz no one swims in 50 yard pools.

  • Brilliant dolphin!

  • USA Swimming DISQUALIFIED!!!! 15 Meter and submerged at the finnish.

  • we got a new swim here, let's have it

  • At what point should he have stopped to prevent his disqualification?

  • @TetchyTact At the 15metre mark. There never used to be a limit, but they implemented it to stop people doing what you've just witnessed!

  • Most epic swim that didn't count EVER.

  • ohmyfgod.

  • He is hacking

  • Holy cheese.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow it's a dolphin's child :P

  • He didn't win... he cheated. goo[.]gl/chqDw

  • DAM YOU POSIDON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is so creepy :D

  • Comment removed

  • wait wasnt this before they implemented the 15m rule?

  • SCREW THIS GUY it is because of him that i cant kick more than 15 meters at meets!

  • @insertacoolname it was actually Misty Hyman that caused there to be a limit haha

  • @zachariahm10 No you are wrong it was Denis Pankratov back in 1995/6 who was swimming 80% of the 200 fly underwater

  • DUh dude said he take the DQ wat do u think that means

  • @jovian2468 You can only go 15m underwater.

  • he got disqualified rite?

  • @rubyboyke yup

  • damn

  • I wonder if this technique can go faster than a 50 frontcrawl? (since freestyle allows you any stroke you'd like). Provided someone trained specifically for this underwater sprint stroke.

  • @Gynecologist Its still ilegal to go past the 15m mark underwater..

  • @greyes11 Oh yeah, lol, forgot about that.

  • @Gynecologist You sure can. The waves on the surface create a TON of drag, especially in sprint free b/c it's so vigorous. I know that Stefan Hirniak goes 21 for a 50 underwater and he's ranked 14th in the world for 200 fly. So I'm betting some of the best swimmers in the world (Michael Phelps or Ryan Lochte specifically) can go 20, probably even sub 20, while the world record 50 free is 20.9.

  • @Gynecologist I am not sure about the rules but i think it is any stroke or technique you want but you have to be swimming on top of the water. I believe your head has to come up at the 15m for any stroke.

  • If i had a kick like that i'd take the dq every time lawl

  • Man from Atlantis reincarnated lol

  • World record?

  • Holy Cheese! That was awesome :) -like-

  • he's secretly aquaman

  • 0:39 he wanted to say HOLY SHIT!! soo bad..

  • swimming should add dolphin style to their assorted swimming events!!!!!

  • @bumblefoot2004 He probably thought he wouldn't win anyway, so he though he might as well come first and get disqualified rather than come last and not be remembered.

  • does the background commentator say he's on marijuana at 33? too stoned to remember to surface?

  • I don't think it's fair for Aquaman to participate in these events.

  • @Veteran4Peace

This is the only time he will ever be loved, let him have this.

  • @Veteran4Peace LMFAO

  • owned

  • @linuxNoob11 on top of that: the water surface is the densest. The extra resistance of it is bigger than the resistance you miss by throwing your arm through the air.

  • is this practise regular?

  • He was smoked when he did that! hahaha

  • is drew carey narrating??

  • @Linuxnoob11 in t

  • Ehm... Didn't he just pass the 15 metre-line?

  • holy shit.....

  • What??? This is weird... he didn't win , did he?? It's not allowed to swim too long underwater! I don't remember what's the maximum distance but it's definitely before half of the pool..

  • aquaman ftw!!!

  • So why is this illegal? Isn't sports about pushing limits anymore?

  • fake?

  • @lauroga why do you think it's fake?

  • @Gabswim i'm not affirming it's fake, i just asked if it was fake. Because:

    1) it's not usual to swing like that

    2) it's not usual to hold your breath like that

    3) he won with a big distance from the second place

    4) if that is real, then why world champion professional swimmers don't do more things like that?

    5) he won using only the legs, the other swimmers were using legs and arms, and they lost?

too strange to say the least

  • @lauroga You get disqualified for that. Anything more than the first 15m submerged will get you out. Listen to the camera man, he even says "he's going for the underwater here, take the DQ" The technique just too efficient to be 'sporting' apparently.

  • @lauroga it's not the backstroke if he never does the backstroke. People can hold their breath for a lot longer, granted normally not while exerting themselves. as far as 5) it probably has to do with less water resistence when he's flat like that, and arms pointed straight, than if his body was slowing him down. I guess he knew he wouldn't win so he was showing off?

  • @lauroga you must not be a swimmer...

  • @lauroga It isn't fake, there is a 3 percent principle, basically humans use about 3 percent of their energy for forward propulsion during regular swimming, people like phelps get it up about 11% while dolphins use 80% the rest of the energy gets wasted.. When doing dolphin swims, you basically reduce massive amounts of drag while using only a small amount of muscle power. There are youtube videos that teach about 33% increase in power = 10% inc speed. 10% reduce drag = 33% inc speed.

  • @lauroga

    1) Doing the dolphin kick while completely underwater is the fastest way to swim in the water.

    2) If you swim a lot you can swim distances like that in 1 breath

    3) See number 1

    4) There is a limit as to how far you can do that, he was disqualified after passing a certain point. They limit the distance because then no one would swim the stroke for that event. Everyone would dolphin kick across.

    5) The swimmers are some what above water, you don't swim as efficiently as 100% underwater

  • @sebastianzx6r if that is real and so efficient, then why there isn't a specific category of competition to explore that style. I mean, every type of competiton, swimming, F1 racing, and everything else, all is aimed for the best performance. there should be an official dolphin kick category. specially because it is swimming, and swimming has many different styles.

  • @lauroga

Good question, maybe in the future they will have that as a separate event. Maybe they won't since it's used at the beginning of each race regardless of what stroke your supposed to use.. I tried to find more info about it on the internet but had no luck. Maybe someone can help out and explain why it isn't in an event by itself.

  • @lauroga I totally agree with you on this one. There should be absolutely a swimming competition using this kind of swimming style.

  • fking hate hackers..

  • F**uck Youuuu WHaaaaaale!!!

  • I dnnt understand though, i thought you were aloud do as much dolphin kickes as you want, why did he get disqualified?

  • @hockeyyguurl you're only aloud to go 15 meters underwater before you HAVE to come up and start swimming the actualy stroke. 15 meters off each wall is aloud.

  • @PanteraFudge well thankya bc i would hve tried that strategy at champs next week!

  • lhkdfhkejdfakalfhdaslkdfh

Sorry. I was just wiping the jizz off my keyboard

  • @petemcdougan09 then how did the "Post" button get clicked?

  • @petemcdougan09 You jizzed to a male athlete? You sick fuck!

  • why did he do it? hahhaha

  • Holy fvcking shit, it's Aquaman.

  • aquaman trolling us hard

  • Vale isso, Arnaldo?

  • Isso é fake

  • Its ilegal, if u see the pool u notece only the first metters are for impulse, a flag maks the limit of the impuse part, the rest of the race is to use the stile backstroke at this case, and IS NOT FAKE, is real this guy have a huge kick but, is not allowed lol, 5 secs faster!!!!

  • OMFGGGGGGGG

  • illegal

  • f*ck you dolphin! :))

  • O MIERDA!

  • fake and gay

  • As 7 pessoas qe nao gostaram com certeza foram as que perderam!! kkkkk

  • is it legal?

  • @prjktz no, he was desclified for that. max underwater swim is 15 meters

  • @Mikel9 lol nice fail. "Disqualified" is how you spell it.

  • @prjktz it WAS legal... now it isn't!

  • He's a mutant. Check behind his ears for gills.

  • omg

  • wth =D

  • @theWudgeMeister on the score board it says lane 7 ended first (on 23.10) Second place goes to lane 4 (with 26.32) so I don't think it's a DisQualify.

  • Comment removed

  • @sabobskia @sabobskia :D you're kidding, right? to that scoreboard the times show automatically. Later on they will judge whether that was a DQ (which it of course was like the commentator already said) or not.

That was swam with a advanced technology full-body suit which makes the time a little less amazing than what it could be (watch Ryan Lochte 50m)... still pretty darn impressive though!

  • Aqua man or Michael Phelps?

  • Damn Hackers

  • What sorcery is this?

  • 'Course they disqualified him... <_<

  • super fake!!

  • @angelopog What part is fake? I dont see any fake parts on this..

  • Is that legal??

  • @dimzaDM nop, you have to go up after 15 meters

  • @dimzaDM No, you can do max 16m underwater then you have to surface. Otherwise people like phelps would do that for every stroke bar breast stroke.

  • VOTA POSITIVO SI TÚ TAMBIEN VES LAS ALETAS EN LOS PIES!!!

  • @frankly23 yo no se donde vestu las aletas majo xD

  • mto foda! huahua
