LSU did have a small area for its tiger up until a few years ago when animal lovers, LSU students & alumni raised enough money to build a large, nice place for him. The 'new' Mike the Tiger is 2 years old. He was born on July 23, 2005, at the nonprofit animal rescue facility, Great Cats of Indiana in Idaville, Ind. They donated him to LSU in Aug. '07. There are so few tigers in the wild now they are on the endangered list. I feel like at least this tiger is safe where he is now.
I don't understand how you can laugh about Mike the Tiger or any animal dying. Sure, it was unusual that he died on the day of graduation, but that doesn't make it something to laugh about. It's not FUNNY when something dies, it's SAD. There's a big difference there.
I don't understand why you think everyone should react to death the same way you do. You don't know if we were sad or happy about mike dying. Just because someone laughs at something doesn't mean they aren't sad about it.

It was MY commencement day that was ruined by Mike's death. The situation was ironic, but it was sad. I considered Mike V a great friend. I visited him at least once a week and was one of many students as well as 6 year olds who left their condolences for Mike. Would you laugh if a good friend of yours died on the day of your graduation? That was what it was like for me and thousands of people. He was not just an animal, he was a loved friend and highly respected member of the campus community.

Only sociopaths with anti-social personality disorder find joy in the suffering of animals (and it is joy when you put a video on youtube with someone laughing and "lol" captioned out of some fugly redhead's mouth). You might want to get some therapy, or a lot. The only thing funny about this video is that hideously ugly chick, and that is actually just sad.
