That's sore just watching that. I have the dentist next week. I hate being scared but what can you do ya must go unless you want your teeith falling out. Oh can you tell me what it means when you have a dream your teeth are falling out.
Imnotgeek must be a Hygienist! Only they are so anal about these things. I routinely shake the cheeks even for a block, so do my colleagues. Patients love it because they don't feel a thing. I've probably given over 20,000 injections this way and not one prolem.
first of all he didnt say what technique he is doing ( IAN nerve block, buccal infiltration etc)....and it is not really a good practice to shake the cheeks or do any sudden actions...
First of all, this clip is for patients, not for dentists so I don't have to be very technical. 2nd, you can't shake when you are doing a block, all dentists know that, which means this is a very superficial infiltration. Not good? Ask the hundreds of patients whose treatment I completed without pain because of this distraction technique, they even ask to be "shaked". Your intention is good but your comment is BAD. You're obviously inexperienced.
that is true...I am inexperienced as I am still learning....
But, clearly you fail infection control...
1. you are not wearing your protective eye wear 2. Is that a watch on your arm???? seriously all clinicians know that their hands must be free of any hardware before doing any procedure.
3. you are a candidate for a needle stick injury LEARN to dispose the needle straight after using.
Now that I have blasted your comment into tiny particles, you switch to another topic. What are you going to talk about next? The fake waterfalls on the wall? My computer slideshow is too slow? I'm supposed to wear white instead of khaki? Tsk... Tsk... you sound like a nagging bitch trying to pick a fight in a cheap bar.
In response: 1. My eyewear is still dangling from my neck since that was just anesthesia, not the procedure itself. 2. 20 years from now while you're doing an RCT you will notice a watch on your wrist and you will remember me. 3. That's called the scoop technique of recapping a needle, one that is endorsed by OSHA. LEARN this unexperienced one... you recap first before you dispose!
That's a fact of life but thanks to technology, it's not as bad as it was. My patients who "expect pain" are actually surprised most of the time and they leave with a big smile... unless I also numbed their lips of course :)

Works best for infiltrations, never on a block. Nervous patients love it, kids as well.

"Still learning" as I have noticed and said correctly. Be careful my friend, a little knowledge is dangerous...
Be careful what you say everything goes back to you...
Pag naka-tapos ka, malalaman at maiintindihan mo lahat ng sinasabi ko, pero ngayong wala ka pang alam, isara mo muna yang bunganga mo!!!
