  • Thanks for buying (sometimes) overpriced gear and giving an honest real world review. You spend your money and time to save us money and time.

  • I have an 8" pair of American made Redwing steel toes with steel shanks that I wear every day all day in the summer for ranch and construction work and they are great, but heavy. I do use them for hiking and hunting even though they aren't the best for that use, but still work well. I have made it through 4 summers with #5 just around the corner and these tanks just keep on going.

  • I wear a 10" pair of Corcoran Marauders, I wear them 6 days out of seven, for 10-12 hours at a time. I've never been more pleased with an item of footwear. I have size 14 feet, so a lot of shoes and boots that I've worn are horribly large and clumsy, but my Marauders really do a good job of being a light boot, with good support. They're not too high speed, but they do have a steel shank which really helps out for the long heavy hauls. I would highly recommend them.

  • According to you're review I'm not sure if those those boots are even good for urban in a SHTF situation. The cqb boots I used had nail/sharp object protected bottoms & steel cap and were also protected against high temperatures (napalm?). They were very stiff but padded well. The funny thing is I liked them more than the other fdf issue m05 combat boots. I used the cqb boots in a ca. 35km march during a rainy night and had very few blisters or sores.

  • so what would you guys reccomend for a boot that is both good at tactical speed and hiking?(i'm not footwear expert) I currently have a pair of Rothco desert entry boots which have held up nicely, despite them being a couple sizes large (which has put stress on my legs). Some brands that i've come across are Altama, Danners, Converse, belleville. any opinions?

  • Good review. I would however liked to have seen some comparables. since you didn't like these, what do you like? That type of thing. Just like in the knife reviews.

  • Hey nutnfancy could you review Nike SF boots??????????? Please

  • What boot do you like?

I've Been looking at the danner TFX boot 8".

I wish Georgia boot would make a TAC boot I wear them for work. They are the best! Just no tread.

  • How about belleville boots so far I have two pairs of the gortex lined steel toe black and tan combat style of boots and they are the most I have ever paid for boots but they are worth it. The models that I have are the (700ST) black and the (790ST) tan so far they pass all other boots that I have had in the past.

  • Seem like they would be half decent as just an everyday boot to wear. Not really doing anything out of the norm, just day by day stuff. Might be a good option for a LEO, wouldn't you say Nutn?

  • I like Merrell Sawtooth boots. For me: I can move very well in them and they still offer a TON of support [a tank compared to these UA boots.] For the price point160!?! Sawtooth can be less then 100 with the deals out there. i got mine for 90 bucks. If i want to sprint a 40, i'd go run on a track and have my running shoes on. If im in the field,I want my Sawtooth boots. Wearing them; I can run, hike and they dry very fast if you have to go swimming in them =) Like all boots replace insoles.

  • Thanks for the great review. Most Under Armour stuff is over priced and if you shop around you can get the same fabrics and materials from other brands at one third to one half the price. The EVA midsole is so passe! PU has displace it in the tactical boot category. It would be great to get your thought on the new Combat Hikers and Hot Weather Combat Hikers that have been developed by and for the Army and in conjunction with both Wellco and Belleville.

  • the under armor boots suck, they are not waterproof at all

  • Once again great review. I agree in everything you said. Way over priced..... I may have missed it but didn't hear you talk about if they are water proof or not. I know they are advertised as waterproof. But the pair I had leaked with minimal water.

  • Thank you nutn I been looking for a good boot review of yours. Great vid love it. It's hard watching another review after watching a nutnfancy review. U set the bar for me nutn keep up the awsome work man thank you for what u do. I hope all is well with u and your family.

  • While I never like hearing that a product is terrible, i appreciate that we hear the results when you have poor products. Thanks for having integrity.

  • could i recommend a pair of boots made by tf gear they are the primal extreme boot in camo i have a pair myself they are waterproof too

  • needs more cowbells

  • If these are not a good price for the boots, what are some good alternative boots that are geared towards lightweight speed/hiking boots?

  • @elbowtko I have a pair of Merrell Chameleons made from the synthetic material. Super light, great grip, REALLY COMFY, and super light. And the best part, they only run about 150.

  • Went boot shopping recently - hard to find anything without EVA! Needed a steel toe so went with a work boot with steel shank, but looked at hikers too and finding good support in a hiker is rare. Maybe on the 'net, but I like to try on footwear in person and the stores just didn't have 'em (got Caterpillar Generators, love 'em). Like Vibram (outsoles) a lot, and there's an interesting and relevant story behind the founding of the company.

  • I find (most) Under Armour stuff is over priced.

  • Not sure if this fits the same category, but I wear Salomon XT Wings 2 trail running shoes to run in. They come with the Ortholite insoles and they are very comfortable and long lasting in my experience. But then again I'm not running with 60 pounds of gear. But they are not bad insoles for running at all.

  • Hah...I'm the same size....my favorite boots are vibram desert boots they never die...2 year of me wearing them everyday and still occasionally doing it....

  • I have these boots and I love them. but to my knowledge there is no product that can support a 60 lbs pack and allow you to move fast. they are two completely different kinds of boots you need to have. I got these boots for hiking and they work great for where I live in the North Easter US. If you want to run fast with boots you need to sacrifice some support. and this is the main dilema If there is a boot that is high mobility and high load bearing please tell me.

  • I gotta agree on the UA boots. I've worn them and wore them out fast! I tried the Converse tactical boots, better quality, better price. If you want the real deal, get a pair of Kenetreks. Although they are spendy, superior quality without a doubt. Also the sweaty foot issue... I learned while playing college ball, use antiperspirant on the feet! You won't regret it, and neither will your feet after a tough day in the field. Keep the great reviews coming!

  • It's near impossible to review a boot or shoe like he has in this video. Everyone has a different shaped foot, and that means everyone will have a different opinion on the shoe or boot overall.

  • Hey I have a becker bk2 and I saw your vid on the dura coat and I was wandering if you could dura coat that?

  • Thumbs up if you want to Nutnfancy test/review the Vibram 5 fingers!

  • If anyone is looking for a lightweight tactical boot try the Rothco Forced Entry Deployment boot 8". They're lighter than my tennis shoes (or at least feel it), rugged enough to go hunting in the mountains of western PA/ WV without any problems, they have a steel shank and theyre only $90 from the Rothco site. If you do buy em I recommend Sno-sealing the suede parts for slightly better moisture control/better color. The only caveat I have is that they seem to be a size smaller than what you wear

  • what is the pack you have on?

  • hehe the only under armour gear i get is under shirts and sometimes their underwear. They are always too expensive unless you catch a good sale or clearance. Even then though there are some great competitors out now so its hard to justify the price. For boots though i still have like 4 or 5 pairs of my Army issue boots as well as some aftermarket boots i bought while in Iraq.. Great review though, just drives another nail into the UA coffin in my mind haha

  • What do you think about the Magnum Sidewinders Nutn?

  • i wonder how often he runs into rattlesnakes?

  • @islas357 lol good point! i damn near stepped on a 4ft rattler a few months back. Scared the hell out of me..haha but im down here in Texas. Im sure there are plenty where he lives.

  • I'm not to happy with my boots either. Too bad I didn't watch this video before. I got a good deal from uscav.com that's a good part. What I don't like is the tongue is sewn on to high and hard for me to put my foot in with some red wing or thorlos boot socks.

  • Damn, I had no idea there was so much to a boot.

  • i respevt your opinion but i love my speed freaks use em for archery hunting and for search and rescue operations have worked excellent for me so far i agree that they are way overpriced for what you get but the support isnt terrible there not a big heavy boot worth of support but then again there not a big heavy boot weight either keep up the great work im a definite fan

  • nutn, will you ever do a tactical underwear review?

  • You know we TNPers of complain about you costing us money by showing us gear we just gotta have...but there are a few occasions when YOU SAVE OUR ASSES A LOT OF MONEY!!!

so thanks and yeah not my style of boot anyway but i love it when you do apparel reviews.

  • 10:05 I strongly disagree that those boots would fair well in a urban environment, shoes with those big cleat like treds wear really fast on pavement, your're not supposed to use high traction hiking shoes in urban enviorments,

but I think you're correct about the light weight, these boots look like a "trailrunner" hybrid

  • More boot reviews please. I love UnderArmor and if I see someone rag on them, I gotta know why, and you showed why they weren't the best option for boots.

  • I've always liked the Corcoran Marauder type boots. I don't know if they're the lightest, but they are much lighter and cooler than the full leather steel toes I had to wear on the flightline.

  • Seems like with just that little bit of stiffening these boots would be awesome.

  • aren't surplus boots the best for the price?

  • Extremely cheap but good boots: Original SWAT from copsplus dot com

  • I think the real punch line to this video is: I love Arizona. That ain't Cali and it ain't New Mexico. Peace and wellness be with you, friend. Keep doing it well. I'm a Belleville fan myself. Keep making great videos.

    -Semper Fi

  • Dick's sells them, I thought the same thing. The logo costs $45 : P

  • Glenn Beck is a man that sees the obvious fact that we are blindly in contempt of our own nation (our own familiarity breeds contempt over time). Is he perfect - of course not - but Glenn Beck (like Nutn) lives within the moment of reality, a place that we all think we are but for the illusion of a system that promotes the most unwitting of social tragedies: Contentment, reliance, habit, and all of the numbing effects that delude our true sense of what our first and primary reality really is.

  • @jackeatsfish I used to be a Glenn Beck TV fan when he was on CNN Headline News and later on Fox but I noticed that a few things he said didn't jibe with me. Then I noticed he sometimes wore masonic & skull & bones symbols. Sometimes it was a t-shirt, ring, badge, a cummerbund, etc... He covers a lot of things that Alex Jones does, but then puts his own twisted spin on it. Look up his FEMA camp double speak if you don't believe me and see pictures of his secret society accessories.

  • @ssdwellah He collects the stuff, you fool. I've got a few SS divisional battle flags, and a couple of Red Army Guards unit patches. Doesn't make me a Nazi or a Communist.

  • @Halo4Lyf Why would he wear it on TV and out to charity dinners when he claims to be fighting against some of the same people and never explains why? That's like saying someone wears a swastika and a Hitler mustache to go grocery shopping because they are a WWII buff.

  • @jackeatsfish Beck is a performance artist. Even he doesn't believe anything he says. But you do somehow.

  • @Deep13Deep13Deep13 I base my opinions on empirical evidence and overall consistency. You, apparently, have an opinion that goes beyond reason as you can apparently pierce into the minds of others. I certainly doubt even you believe you can tell what someone hold in their hearts.

  • Thanks for the review. Still think I'll go with a set of blackhawk boots.

  • 5.11 ATAC 8's been using them a lot lately. A bit heavy, but great support steel toe cap, all leather waterproofed up to the top. Side zipper plus laces for extra ergo's when putting them on.

  • Check out the Hedgehog Tall GTX XCR III from North Face. I used to wear Keen Targhees and have tried several other brands and models and have never found a pair of boots that have held up as well as these North Face boots through all kinds of weather... yet they are lightweight and VERY comfortable. They are also more of an athletic type hiking boot but have a great instep and firm shank support. They are also gore-tex lined and waterproof, but not too warm (and my feet are always too hot).

  • Wow it's been a long time since nutnfancy made any sort of video related to boots. Totally forgot everything that was said about what goes into a good hiking boot. I was totally lost when nutn was stating what he would do to improve these. I guess I'll need to watch that series again haha

  • Great review but what backpack are you using to pack the bolt gun up the hill.

  • Great review, Nutn. I'd love to see more reviews on boots, and other foundation items... Maybe some foundational foundation videos?

  • Used some Georgia Boots for a 3 day 40 mile hike. Pretty solid, haven't tried anything else though.

  • Thanks for the video! I've been thinking about getting these for work, i heard they were 130 at the outlet.... But after this video I think I will jst pick up some Danners!

  • redwings work good

  • Scarpa Kailash GTX. Perfect.

  • Danners baby!

  • Hey Nutn, have you done a review on their gloves? From what I've heard they are pretty good. Also, I messaged you about something.

  • bellville 550st usmc ftw

  • Agree on Goretex. Totally over-hyped. I heard one salesman at EMS say it raises the temperature of ones feet 10 deg. F. I'd get it for a real cold weather boots, but that's it. The problem is that it is hard to find many models without Goretex.

  • @Deep13Deep13Deep13 Don't. The Gore-Tex membrane freezes shut at -10C leaving you with very cold feet that never dry. For proper cold weater nothing beats leather and fur boots (for freeze your ass off cold - wood soles), for slightly warmer - leather boots and wollen socks.

  • 5.11 XPRT ROCK

  • Lowa boots can't be beat

  • nice to see a rewiew not about a gun.

and i do remember youre guide to hiking boots. i saw it alot.

and bought some great ones. nice ot know what to look for.

    in boots.

  • I love UnderArmor clothing hot/cold gear, but I know your paying alot EXTRA for the name brand ;/

  • the okley combat boots are the way to go you should check them out nutin

  • Im too fat but id hang out with you

  • Thanks for the great info. I was looking at these for my next pair, but will look elsewhere. Thanks for keeping it real nutn

  • Hey Nutnfancy, I love the Blackhawk desert ops boots. I've had a pair for a couple of years now and they're still treating me well. I got em from US Cavalry for about $95, They've got a steel shank and Vibram outsole! by far the lightest and most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. If you ever got the chance to review a pair I think you would love them!

  • Excellent review! keeping it real.

  • what about "belleville" ?

  • How about the Oakley boot for $65 in multicam???

  • Amen to Super Feet! Love them in everything to work boots and running shoes!

  • my sgts wear underarmor boots. but i prefer an old school full leather boot. even here in az. my timberland pros have been comfy from day one. almost a year of use. i always look for an eyelet with plastic or metal around it. never just a bootlace hole. i had a pair of magnum boots blow an eyelet in like 3months.

  • I believe the proper term is security OFFICER lol just busting your balls...... I love my 5.11 boots with the side zip...... mm mm good.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like it can double as a tactical basketball shoes.

  • I absolutely LOVE your real, no bullshit reviews.

These companies put out hyped up shit, and charge a premium - you need to send the link to this video to them so they quit making junk like these. I'm not sure i'd even wear them as a security guard, with all the crap we carry. Maybe if you were just carrying a radio...

Hell, tell Under Armour that you want to make a Nutnfancy line of boots - at least they wouldn't be shit like this.

  • I think Danner is way better than anything under armor would ever make. my desert boots are light and very breathable.

  • SPC at 1:59?

  • S.W.A.T Originals are awsome. Low priced $60-70 and high quality. I used them in AFG and loved them.

  • Right there with you on the "Foot Sweat" thing. I am on my third replacement from Northface on a set of Gore-Tex lined running boots/athletic shoes, the two prior have chaffed through to the outside material ... either Gore-Tex has cheapened up quite a bit or the shoe companies are using a weird hybrid material with smaller amounts of Gore-Tex in them. Proof: I have a set of Vasque hiking boots where the liner has lasted ten years. Good realist review as always. Thanks!

  • Lowa Zephyr GTX (high). Probably the best all-around boot that I have ever had. Great for wet, cold, hot, dusty, rocky, sandy...anything that I have thrown at it. Upper laces the only fault...once they are on...good 2 go!

  • i hate it when people say you have to wear camoflage just to go hunting

  • Not all security guards work at the mall Nutn. lol. UA is over priced and under quality. they try to compete by raising prices to trick the consumer into believing that they sell a good product.

  • Look crap. Overpriced and ugly. Also I can't stand the underarmor logo on them.

  • Thanks, I was looking at these. Now I will not buy them.

  • funny, i was totally thinking about getting some of these... thanks for the save. Judging by the comments it looks like i need to be looking at the Danner line.

  • what kind of backpack was that in the pointbreak footage you put in where is was caring a rifle too.

  • I would say "fast attack boot"

  • i have a very close relationship with the ceo and VP at UA,my family has worked with them and other major clothing brands (north face, abercormbie, ect) for years, i will do my best to pass the bad things about the boot on to them for improvement, as always nutn keep up the great work, im sure the guys will love the feedback.

  • I use $30 Guide Gear boots lol Rough, but take a beating.

  • OMG HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAHHHHHHH I so love it! I so hate UA crap! since the first product they brought out it's all overpriced it's hype! I have such disdain for a company who charges maybe10,000 times more then it costs to make it! The company is such a rip and FURTHER MORE PROOF UA just sucks and is such a damn rip! It's made of slickly boy polyester that probably cost them $1 to make and they charge 45.00 to 50.00 on a shirt. I can't stand their products!

  • Danner TFX GTX, or Danner TFX Kinetic....NOTHING beats a Danner

  • When u said "in a mall", i started thinking about the movie.... lol

  • These kinds of products represent everything that's wrong with tactical marketing. Take something that really isn't better than a cross trainer, throw some tactical colouring and increase the pricetag.

  • does anybody know what vest and backpack set up nutn's wearing at 1:55?

  • Great honest review keep them coming nutnfancy!

  • love the boot reviews, keepem coming

  • 10-4 brother... Just like all of the UnderArmour hunting clothing it under performs, is overpriced, but it looks cool as hell lol

  • Love the honesty bro... U saved us all 170 $ of pure crap.

  • man nutnfancy where do you shoot at man

  • Danner. End of story. Oregonians know footwear.

  • @yadidimeanmaine

Lundhags makes the best boots (four seasons environment) I have tried every brand out there. All the American, all the European high end brands. Nothing comes close to Lundhags. Forget about Goretex on your feet. Think leather and layering. The only materials you want is wool (which you layer to you content), leather (few pieces) and vibram.

  • @scandapoodle

the Lundhag soles are of course very rigid also.

  • @yadidimeanmaine I have had my Danner mountain lite II's for 10 years now. I have had them re-soled four times now...Danner is the best end of story.

  • Get some Magnum Spyder 8.1's and you'll be happy with it.

  • so what is an excellent boot to get?

  • I would also like to see an Oakley boot review, Nut'n.

  • Bring on the sticks review!

  • I'm currently looking for some good boots, thanks for crossing one pair off my list!

  • UnderArmour footwear is overpriced and overall not worth the money. I bought a pair of their running shoes right when they came out and found them to be junk compared to Brooks and Asics. Their clothing on the other hand is of good quality and recommended.

  • Right now I'm rocking the Blackhawk Warrior Wear Desert Ops Boots and besides the issue with the boot laces they are the best boot that I have ever worn. They brake in fast and they stay comfortable on your feet. As for the laces they where rubbing on the eyelet and started to fray, so I took them out and put in 550, since then no issues.

  • Red Heads are my choice!

  • Comment removed

  • Review the Magnum Spider 8.1 boot.

  • Check out the Rocky C4 Trainer. I have a pair and love them. I run in them long distance.

  • I have used many different brands of boots they are all the same after a while your feet will hurt. Oakley the cushioning wore out fast . 5.11 did same , converse felt good but were bulky and tread wore out withing 2 weeks of hard use. Bates and all the army issue boots were just plain uncomfortable. It is really hard to find something durable, comfortable at a decent price. It's all about the name brand , less about quality

  • How about a Hi-Tec Magnum boot review?

  • I think for your POU, the boot just isn't right. But in the turkey or deer woods of Iowa, you want to be able to feel every rock and twig on the forest floor. I have a pair of Irish Setter Shadow Treks that are basically the same boot without the marketing hype and price tag. GREAT hunting boot when you're trying to be silent. Probably horrible on really rocky terrain.

  • Dude Nutn ..good choice on the super feet .. I work for a outfitter and we sale the crap out of those.. work great for the money ..they ROCK!!!!!!

  • Noodle City sucks

  • Nutn under armor is alway really expensive

  • Overpriced, OTB Boots all the way!

  • NUTNFANCY i have got what you need. the SALOMON 4D GTX. Previously reviewed in the TFP. joking aside these boots remind me alot of the 4D GTX by salomon. check them out they are done right, and that is a fact.

  • I have some 5.11 lightweight boots and I love em'.

I was in a house and I noticed that my walk had changed. Turns out I had stepped on a big ass 2x4 and had about 5 nails sticking in my boot, none of them made it through the sole!

  • I would never buy a boot from a company that makes underwear, sunglasses or basketball shoes.

    --Steyr

  • what state do you live in bro? its beautiful out there

  • Bates Lightweight boots are probably the best boots I've had for a lightweight durable police duty, the only downside is they only come in black

  • Nutnfancy says "Firepower vs. mobility, this is a mobility-leaning boot."

I shit you not. He actually said that.

  • @FPSArizona It goes to his philosophy Mr Sarcastic. "Firepower" in this sense would be more heavy duty boot. "Mobility" would be the fact that the boot is lightweight and flexible. Way to see the big picture.

  • @imtheomegaman Grow a sense of humor, Tactical Ted.

  • @imtheomegaman I really want a firepower-leaning tactical boot. They would go extremely well with my tactical buffet pants. That's my big picture, Mr. Serious.

  • @FPSArizona and what is your point?

  • @TheEmarbe I quoted what he said. Do I need your permission to quote what he said?

  • @FPSArizona you're an idiot. You said that like it was absurd....I asked you to elaborate and all you say is some snarky ass question...What are you 12 years old?

  • @FPSArizona I prefer a firepower-leaning boot.

  • Nutn, have you checked out the Magnum Sidewinder HPi boots?

  • Hi, can you tell us more about the backpack with gun-case you are having on your shoulders at 02:06.

  • You should try Teva brand, I got a pair that I've used in Iraq and at home and still using them despite that they need to retire.

  • Lowa makes a great boot military or hiking. Expensive but a great boot.

  • Glad YouTube doesn't have smell-a-vision yet. I don't think I could stand Nutnfancy's foot oder.

  • The ridgedness of that boot sucks. My Montrail Hardrock hiking shoes are way more ridged.

  • More boot reviews! I've been sticking with $30 walmart boots because I'm too afraid that when I buy an expensive it will be crap.

  • I have the UA Ridge Runner's and love them. they are a much stiffer boot, I have found them to be very comfortable and well made.

  • Magnum 8.1 spider boots in multicam. Gotta try them, nutn.

  • Nice review !

It would be nice to have a top 5 boots that would stand the battlefield test and wont give any unexpected surprises.

  • I'd like to see more boot reviews! I hike and hunt, and I've had real problems finding good, lightweight camo boots that are taller than mid-height. I've had crappy pairs that felt great but shredded within the first few hours. I've had expensive pairs that fit a little weird and tore up my heels.

  • Love the green Superfeet!

  • So, Nutnfancy...., it's clear these are not the optimum boots for hard usage outdoors. What then is your top choice?? Thanks

  • @Nutnfancy These boots are definately rip offs. A buddy of mine bought these and they broke in 2 months. If you want a good boot for $130 get the Nike SFBs. I use them and I ruck ALOT of miles weekly. Plus I have connections from Special Forces and Rangers, and I can confirm that these boots are very popular there too.

  • Awesome, a boot review. Very objective and coming from a user perspective. Thank God, not a Outside magazine review, a better one in ten minutes.

  • Great info. From a man who knows human feet, thank your feet for me. Jungle boots all the way! Steel shank, Panama sole.

  • Nice. Thanks for "keepin' it real" on this low-value boot. I've been using a fantastic tactical boot that doubles for hiking - the Timberland Desert Force High. They're no longer produced as far as I can tell, but I'd buy them twice over again if they were. After 20-30 miles of hiking, and lots of running & gunning, I call them an absolute win.

  • thanks for a change up in gear review!

  • Cool now let's see a good boot!

  • I like my Magnum boots in multicam. No issues so far. Then again i'm not "running" most the time.

  • Let's get some more boots reviews! Another great review with an honest opinion, thanks bro!
