@MexicanBoy171 im 13 too and love to make cakes i could send u a link of some i have made but anyways u can make roses. im not the best but i still do and they get better everytime. just give it a try!
Aw, I remember our local grocery store (not WalMart) used to write on cakes for us. One time my grandma bought a plain angel food cake and they frosted the whole thing for her on the spot!
Sorry everyone...the roses are OKAY at best...poor technique and the icing should be stiffer....but what do you expect from Walmart. She has potential and does well for her skill level. BUT, you get what you pay for and why I charge more for my work and I GET IT without a blink of an eyelash. My advise, find classes in your area to learn the correct techniques for ALL your decorating.
I didn't say there was anything wrong with working at Walmart for those who want to work there. My comment was directed at those who buy cakes from Walmart. You can't expect the same quality from a Walmart cake as you get from someone who custom makes cakes. If someone wants something for close to nothing, I tell them to go to Walmart and good luck in getting that custom designed cake for the pittance they want to pay for it..
@maisyone2 I think that's a load of rubbish. I've gotten spectacular cakes from grocery stores for "next to nothing". No need to charge an arm and a leg for any kind of cake.
OMG I work at Sams Club, and Im in culinary school ,and was in the back decorating cakes, and it is not easy( it was my first time doing it "professionally", and thanks for showing us how to make a rose so I can take it back to Sam's and try it out, you technique looks easier
great job with the roses. i'm 16 and my first job is at a supermarket as a cake decorater. I work next to a florest so it's a bit intimidating making roses.
looks like the bluesweatered background person keeps scratching their butt.

Love your roses. The consistency of the buttercream is what makes them so easy to do.
