  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a huge KC fan, but I can't fucking stand Adrian Belew

  • @Playjex idiot

  • @jcramerjr Don't call me an idiot just because I like John Wetton more. In myopinion the Wetton era put out the best material. Although Belew's era was alright to me, I believe the reason behind this is because the change of decades. Three Of A Perfect Pair and Discipline are good albums, but they tried to fit into the new decade's sound too much. But in the end, I can't stand Adrian Belew lol

  • to be there live would be the best! saw them in the 70s !

  • i love the way the bass sounds in this

  • What no "This is Red"?

  • @CaptRowboat You mean they should present it?

  • Hey! Let's all head over to something with The Melvins and start talking 'bout King Crimson! Oh. Wait. That would be a *dick* thing to do. Kind of like coming over here to a KC post and chatting up TMs. Wankers. King Crimson rulez....

  • There's always a few Priests of the Temples of Syrinx who got to dislike epic music.

  • Double trio? I think I'd prefer the "single trio" version.

  • 2:42 Evil genius.

  • id rather listen to the original than them wank all over this ..why is it that 60 year old ex rock stars *fail* in their dotage? Pete Townshend is also guilty... if you proggers out there [ note the word , progressive... moving forward ] like 'Red' then follow the continuing progresss of a band called The Melvins [ since circa 1983ish ] who write quite a few tunes of Red quality on EVERY album they release , at least one a year....

  • @triumphadelic

I enjoyed this but agree with you that it's not as amazing as the studio version. Also - spot on about the Melvins. Love them, and you're right, they are so prolific and yet consistently great. They're also probably amazingly nice guys. Have you seen these King Buzzo vids? /watch?v=RHSvjS4JQSQ So cool.

  • @barrybrien82 funny how I mention The Melvins and then didnt realise they are playing in London on Thursday 3 Nov 2011 , doh! .. and its sold out.... will have to go up to the Electric ballroom early and hope a fellow Melvin fan has a spare...that usually works... thanks for links.... check this recent full gig out also THE MELVINS - Live At Hellfest 2011 [HQ] by evilmantheone

  • @triumphadelic

Nice one will do. I've only seen them the once, in Galway about 5 years ago. Amazing gig. Are they still playing with Big Business with the 2 drummer set up?

  • @barrybrien82 yes Big Business still 50% Melvins...check that link I sent its them playing a whole gig recently in France properly filmed I think its from tour they just finishing of which Bristol is final gig on a boat in dock ...

  • Маэстро всегда в стороне....

  • evil funk music...

  • sound could be be better do.still love to this band and the same for you.

  • Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, and Bill Bruford are GODS. True rock royalty. The other various members of the immortal King Crimson (Greg Lake, et al) are not slouches either. Truly inspirational.

  • Saw them do this in Vancouver live...This is great to hear this again.

  • God Thanks For give us : Tony Levin, Chris Squire (YES) and John Myung ( Dream Theater) ...... All Hail Progressive Music!

  • @barolol And Geddy Lee!!

  • @irena7777777 Fuck Yeah you are so Right!!!

  • @barolol How could you forget Les Claypool? Good list though

  • Fripp is a Guitar Statue :-))

  • Pffff!!

  • Fuck auto correct.... Howie*

  • Bowie mandell on drums!

  • If Robert Fripp would ever stand up and just rock out.... I think we would all shit several brix.

  • DROFURB!!!!!!!

  • OMG what a great song

  • Why isn't Fripp playing this? WHY?!!!!!!!

  • @theluigiteam543 lol wut, he is

  • @theluigiteam543 He is, you just cant see him too well.

  • It would be so fucking awesome if the original Red lineup reunited for a Red tour.

  • BELEW!!!!

  • too bad that fripp doesnt play the lead

  • WOW. harpo.

  • my ideal king crimson lineup would be :

Robert Fripp , Mike Oldfield , Trey Gunn, and Pat Mastelotto.

for me, mike oldfield is another severely underated guitarist, much like robert fripp. Oldfield and Fripp are definetly my favorite guitarists.

  • such a good song

  • When was this recorded. Killer version

  • Robert Fripp is my new idol

  • Red is the best blues ever written...

by the way, in the intro where are the bass chords??? That's my favorite part, just those absolutely disgusting chords wetton played on the record

  • Many people will probably disagree with me, but imagine Claypool with King Crimson! Even just for one album it would be fucking amazing!

  • @DavidKinner He played with Adrian Belew on one of his albums.

  • @mudjunky78 I( know, but I want Fripp, Belew, Bruford, Claypool, Levin and Gunn. That is like a dream lineup for me. Even if just for one album. I know Claypool, and Belew played together once, but they did not have Fripp, and Fripp is King Crimson, his old bandmates agreed when saying they would leave when it was more him then them. Claypool and crimson would kick some serious fucking ass.

  • @DavidKinner I agree with you david, i also think it would be cool if claypool brought some of his musicians with him like mike dillon who plays amazing vibe/marimba or skerik who plays the shit out of a sax, or sam bass claypools new crazy cello player, now that would be a hell of a show!

  • @DavidKinner Les Claypool did collaborate with Adrian Belew on Adrian's solo album. The song is called "Writing on the Wall". Danny Carey of Tool played drums for this track, too.

  • @timi0000 Claypool and Carey actually joined Belew for three tracks on Side One-- "Ampersand," "Writing on the Wall," and "Matchless Man."

Also, that's not Belew's only solo album. He has many. Not sure if you were aware or not.

  • Grandiosos King Crimson!!

  • Great performance of the piece. A completely different line-up than originally came up with this piece except for Bruford and Fripp, but god damn magic all the same. I find the album version diffinitive on a way I can't describe.

I read that Fripp actually took a back seat creatively in this entire album, interesting, because I love it so much, even though I love the more pro-Fripp albums too.

  • i don't know why i keep coming back. . .is it because this is such a fuckin' heavy song?

  • its like evil alchemists making magic

  • Always been a Fripp fan, but his tone on this is digital crap. Belew carries the guitar parts.

  • As many times as I've watched this video, I still can't hear the Warr Guitar anywhere in the song.

  • @imthedorf1964 You are right, listen to the Vrooom Vrooom version, it doubles with Adrians guitar line.

  • The last breaths of King Crimson...

  • what a sound! it seems that's the best version of Red on youtube

  • MAESTROS!!

  • I'm pretty sure nobody has as much fun playing music as Adrian Belew.

  • @minusjason

LOOKs that way, but I don't think we can really know with Fripp in the mix. What amazes me is he can rock your socks off without even moving! Stoic! But he always looks as though he's having loads of fun -- in his own unique way, of course. I saw them several years ago. During Trey's solo, Fripp opened up his bag, pulled out some cheapie nail clippers, and did his nails as if it was nothing! The crowd was in hysterics! He tried to keep a straight face but it just wasn't working.

  • @minusjason Look at Fripp he looks very enthused lol, but in all seriousness Claypool might!

  • @minusjason he s such a humble great guy too... He literally blushed when I told him last year that he influenced me on guitar and in music in general more than anyone else...

  • @minusjason I just hope the guys in the white coats don't find him!

  • @minusjason Agreed!

  • @minusjason what are you talking about? Fripp is so excited he's almost showing emotion.

  • @grevejp44 Fripp makes Tony Iommi look like an out of control extrovert.

  • Bob Fripp is the guitar "Prince of Darkness".

  • @silvereith

What's with the Bob thing? xD

I've seen people call him that quite alot in the comments. EXPLAIN!

  • @panksuzmuzhu Bob is short for Robert, you know.

  • @panksuzmuzhu

His friends and associates call him Bob. He calls himself Bob. But in official matters (like in the credits for authoring a song) he uses his legal name, like most people do. For example, on the handful of songs Ringo Starr wrote, he signed them Richard Starkey. Exceptions abound, such as Bob Dylan (Robert Zimmerman) and Alice Cooper (Vincent Fournier).

  • WHO NEEDS PORN!!!

I AM JACKING OFF TO THIS!!

  • @Blackened1993

Go back and listen to Jimi in light of what you just said: I've come to the conclusion that Jimi sought to MAKE LOVE to his music -- literally. I'm not saying he wanted to make love (to women) in time to his music or with his music as a backdrop. I'm saying that Jimi wanted to fuck the music itself, which he loved more than anyone or any thing.

  • @Blackened1993 laughing!

  • @Blackened1993 Laughing!

  • @Blackened1993 Lol!

  • @Blackened1993 dude dont jack off to this please
