Good news ! Immediately I heard this even tho I couldn't recall the track itself I was thinking Stanley Turrentine LP "Home Again" from 1982 and sure enough yes ! The track is called "Conception." I've also probably got a copy for sale if you want it. Anymore early 80's fusion and boogie get in touch. BTW its a decent LP and also includes the excellent vocal track "I'll Be There." Thanks for uploading this.
Funny, I always heard the name Stanley Turrentine on the KISS-FM jazz shows in the later '80s, and CD101 in the '90's, but never heard this tune then, and don't remember hearing the name in '82.
Looks like nobody else has it on here either, too! Sure sounded like Grover Washington on the sax.
