she's amazing! i love Mandisa! i love her music! she's an amazing woman and great role model! i hope to someday fulfill my career in singing and be just like her!:)
maaaaaaaaaaaaaan mandisa should have won the entire show fool i mean i think they secretly did something so she cant win but i brought every album she made n i once voted 4 her 23 times i still cant believe she aint win the whole show
top five should have been: Katherine, Daughtry, Paris, Elliot, and Mandisa. but think katherine mcphee is far talented than taylor. u hear nothing from him
When Andrea Bocelli heard Paris he said: "Finally someone with a voice as powerful as mine". Later when Kat sang Whitney's song, all judges agreed "Kat wasn't good enough to sing that song" cause obviously this song was way too big for her. So deal with it "Kat was just a nice tone" In Opera ranges she's just a soubrette! Paris is an dramatic mezzosoprano!
Then the judges admitted to being too harsh and changing their opinions. And...you my want to look into it. Kat toured and sang with Bocelli...and with David Foster. Nice try though.
You can find videos of Kat singing with Bocelli all over Youtube and information about her and David Foster all over the net. It's quite easy to find.
I know she's sung with Bocelli and Foster. But I haven't found an article about judges changing their minds about Kat McPhee's performance singing "I have nothing". And I think they couldn't do that cause it was obvious this song was way too big for her. Compare her version with LaKisha's or Jhudson's and you'll see the difference between nailing a song and pushing a song!
Watch the episode right after she performed it. They admitted (especially Simon) that their judgments were wayyy too harsh and changed them after re-watching her performance.
Hey now, people with the right attitude can get along despite beliefs and lifestyles!
I do not believe in God or Christianity, but I fully respect Mandisa's beliefs. I am not straight, and I fully respect that Mandisa doesn't encourage my lifestyle. What I respect most is that she loves everyone regardless. (See: "Love Somebody.") We all could learn something from people like her!
I love Mandisa. She's got a voice, she's got a purpose. We need more people like her in music. Viva Mandiva!!!
I have a better idea...why don't you site the places where she 'said' it, and we'll go there to read them...you know, just like in the real world when you want to back up your beliefs.
You must have 'heard' that she made those statements because they were never made by her. Some GLADD jackasses made up the whole controversy over Mandisa's booklist on her profile where she listed a Christian author that GLADD says is anti-gay, when all the author really is, is a devout Christian as is Mandisa. But...as it is with most gay sympathizers, the facts don't really matter, and sort of get in the way of the story being told.
Actually she DID say she wouldn't perform at a gay event because it conflicts with her beliefs. However, she still said she loves everyone.
As a gay person I really am not offended by her words. If I were a music artist, I wouldn't perform at a christian event so why should I hold this against her? I still love her.
MANDISA is a phenomenal talent BUT the week she was voted off really was her worst performance! Talent is one thing but she truly did not perform up to par that week! She was probabbly one of the best vocalist ever on Idol but just because you can SING and she can SANG, doesnt mean that its an automatic win!
I hated season 5, so many talents that went home way before their time, and then Taylor won, and he can't even hold a candle to most of the people on this show.
I think only people that go to the show should be able to vote because America is whack...they don't cast votes based on talent they base votes on appearances and lifestyles. etc.
Ew at how freaking robbed she was :| She was amazing and to this day this is one of my top five performances in idol history ever. She should of been at the very least top three for that season. She was just light years ahead of many contestants from season five. She's so underrated.
Man I love this woman, when got put off I was so mad I didn't watch American Idol till they named who won. The only bad performance she really had was when she song Any Man Of Mine.
i always thought this was badass.. a large black woman belting out a rock song was a nice change of pace from the standard drab r&b song you'd be expecting
yes! shes gettin a deal? thats AWESOME!! i was just saying i was wondering wat evur happened to her...and shes finally getting a deal. YES!!!good for her.
LOVE this version. Mandisa has a book deal w/ Tyndale House and an album w/ EMI to do - can't wait! Heard that from her on TV Guide's 'Idol Tonight' last night. Woo-Hoo!! ~Tom
They butchered the apology, she told him of Jesus Christs forgiveness for her enabling her to forgive him.

I haven't found what you said, so is probably untrue. For me is obvious that Paris is 10 times better voiced than Kat!

why does it matter??? i dont even think paris and kat were even in the same season were they??
gomounties08 3 years ago
I'm simply discussing it with someone. If you don't like it then look over it.
And yes...Paris, Kat, Mandisa, Elliot, Taylor, Lisa, etc were all in the same season.
Smartass8504 3 years ago
yeah
which is definately why Kat made it further.

How about going to The Advocate's interview with Mandisa where they asked her the question...
...Would you be comfortable performing or singing at a gay event?
Mandisa: I would not, no.
Do you think that you stretched her answer FAR beyond what she actually said?
montikea 4 years ago
iTS HER OPINION.. SHE STILL CAN SING. ANTI GAY OR NOT..

Nah,it wasn't made up. She said she wouldn't perform for a gay audience. She said that multiple times, do a search and you will see
