This was a pretty fun game, especially since most Survival Horror games were dead at this time, that's to the ridiculously large overglut of them in the late 90's/early 2000's.

It's pretty intense sometimes, but eventually you just start playing it for the story and great atmosphere more then the scares, right about when you notice "if there's a vent there's a Necromorph in it" and "if it has all it's limbs it's faking dead".

Good atmosphere is important to a game though, and really sells it.

i love how when you first get the plasma cutter you didnt use more ammo on the necromorph than you had to, you just put 3 shots on him, then when he was on the ground you didnt care whether or not he was alive, you took advantage of him being down there and stomped on him to conserve ammo. smart.
