  • I think the best pedal is the one that fits you the best... Twin pedal or double bassdrums isn't always about speed... And if your main interest is only speed, mangini Broke world record with a pearl elliminator, the machine set the record with axxis and lombardo breached the sound of thunder in the early 80's with tama, Aj pero did speed metal in the early 80's with dw's... I don't believe you need high end, just enough passion for the instrument. Good vid!

  • and then bleed

  • What kind of cymbal was that at 0:09? I've been looking for something that sounds like that....Btw Nice drumming dude!!

  • I have dw7000's and they arent the fastest pedals ive played, Or the most responsive, But they work Very well for me. And I have OLD pearl and ludwig pedals that Still give the new stuff a run for there money.I think of drums and the gear like old muscle cars, They look and sound like no other and they kick the shit out of the new stuff.

  • To all those claiming the pedals make all the difference, they only better translate you're playing to the surface. Without skills, no pedal will make you sound good. Watch Gene Hoglan working on his old, single chain Camco pedals.

  • @bobomchobo i'm not saying the pedal would make all the difference, but compare like an SP pedal to something like a Speed Cobra or something...it's smoother for sure.

  • @bobomchobo The old single chain camco (pre-tama) pedals are regarded by many as amazing pedals... That's like saying it doesn't matter what guitar you have, just look at [insert name of guitarist] he's still playing on his 68 strat... Getting your hands on a camco double pedal in good condition today would probably cost you more than a set of Trick Dominators, most likely. Anyways. All comments on this vid = pure gear envy. Stop pissing away your money and get some semi decent gear.

  • @ronnysoeberg And they're also regarded by many as being too sluggish, etc. We're not talking about a guitar where the electronics will make a difference with tone. There are still people that swear by the old Ludwig Speed kings. Double chain, strap, direct drive, single chain, etc. it's all a matter of what 'feels' best on your foot and works best for you.

  • You are doing it wrong. See that rTuomikanto's video how to play it correctly.

  • i dont know. i actually felt a difference when i got new pedals, a big difference

  • @egnacho666 i have 5000's they just make it easier to go faster. they dont make you faster.

  • that is intense. i now know what my drummer friend was talking about when he said this song has an extra beat on the bass part

  • hey utubers, Im a drum n00b, can you guys tell me how the foot pattern is?- thanks :D

  • vinnie, u r genius

  • this footwork is legendary

  • that ain't Vinnie

  • hope youve been practicing with a metranome...noticed you feel for ever drummers downfall and sped up just alittle bit in the end lol

  • ummmm you're not even playing it right, the whole center section of the beat you're not doing. THAT's the hard part, the trip. into a steady roll and finishing on the trip is easy but throwing the middle one in there is the hard part.

  • the fastest feet in the biz

  • this sounds so sick, good control

  • You missed a few double-tap rolls at the beginning. Keep practicing you almost have it!

  • if you little retards realyt hinking having dw 5000's (wich arent even the best pedals) make you god, then you my friend, fail at life. hard.

i have friends who play lightning speeds with pdp 100 dollar pedals.

    noobs..

  • @egnacho666 True that! I have GP double,Costed me 80,And hell,Im a decent drummer,You dont need demon drives or tricks to make you good,Its not the pedals,ITS THE DRUMMER! Practicing can make you play like George kollias in PDP!

  • @egnacho666

I agree. Though what are the best pedals?

  • @xnumxlockx

theres no best pedal, its all a matter of confort. but what makes a pedal GOOD and what they compete at is adjustability. IMO i think iron cobras ajustability is great wich is why i choose them. Very light pedals with a heavy feel if you want it. ive tried eliminators and they are heavy no matter what in my experience. axis are to light. i PERSONALLY think iron cobras are the most flexible. agree or disagree, post it but dont come down on me cause this is my opinion. then only point

  • (read last post)

i'm stressing is that no pedal will make you god no matter what. Ive seen people go lightning fast on dw tamas pearls pdps and axis. just choose whats most confortable.

  • @egnacho666

I agree 100%. A fast player should be able to play fast on any pedal. A lot of people seem to think that to play fast, they need to have the correct pedals.

The correct pedals are what feels right to the player.

Personally I really like the Axis pedals. I tried the IC and I didn't like it too much, they Elim's are alright. DW 9002's are too smooth for my liking haha

  • @xnumxlockx

dw beaters SUCK. wayyy to heavy. I have some dw7000s and I put IC beaters on them

  • @egnacho666 speed isnt everything NOOB haha how i hate that dumb word

  • @egnacho666 The fact that you just called people noobs means that you have no life... And what's with putting them down? Say it a nicer way and maybe they'll actually thank you for the positive advice.

  • @MirrorImageDrum why do you have no life when you call people noobs? its just a word...

  • @TheMourningPalace Sorry, you don't make any sense.. Hahaha

  • @zuklee123 hahaha... you are fucking dumb if you didn't understand my question.

  • @egnacho666 cool story bro.

  • @egnacho666 soo true. I have a $60 pdp double kick that plays fast as fuck

  • @egnacho666 troll the the max

  • @egnacho666 true but those pdp 100 dollar ones are acually pretty sweet pedals, ya know?

  • @egnacho666 and at the end of the day it's the drummer not the drum kit....

  • @egnacho666 I totally agree. Just because you have a $1,000 or more Strat, that doesn't make you Hendrix

  • @egnacho666 true always guys thinking the best equipment makes you the best, i bought like the cheapest pearl pedals and they work just fine

  • @egnacho666 Agreed. I use DW 2000's and I find them better than 5000's. I would kill for some PDP pedals, but right now, I'm used to using the pedals I got,

  • ANYTHING is possible with DW5000 pedals!!! I used to think Ulrich was a fkg genius when he did "One". Nope, he's a rich fkg dickhead is what he is!!! FK Metallica!! Jason Newsted said the truth when he called them assholes!

  • well kirk and robert arent assholes.........i love metallica and i love pantera...james did get upset with jason but he apologized and they are all friends now(again) and i agree tht lars is a dickhead.....but leave kirk out because he was best friends with jason all thru the time he was in the band

  • You're talking like if you were a member of Metallica; like if you were aware of all that was discussed inside the band LOL, that's insane... Crazy fanboy...

  • no im not but i saw an interview with jason where he said the only one he still liked was kirk and he mentioned tht kirk was always the funnest one in the band......im not saying ur wrong im just adding and besides any of tht rob is way better than jason at bass

  • ur gonna call me a crazy fanboy but yet ur name has jordison in it.......sumones a hypocrite

  • You're right, I admire Jordison but I don't comment about Slipknot like if I was a member of the band or a close friend of them like you do.

  • slipknot is brutal.....im sorry

  • @DarkWingedDuck slipknot is for queer boys hanging out at malls. theyre not metal.

  • @DarkWingedDuck brutal as in shit

  • nice one dude i thought the same i have some shity pdp doube pedal... the i tried my friend dw5000 pedal i said to me: holly shit was i really this good?

  • Jason Newsted had a reunion with them and he loves them...lmao wtf dude, Metallica ragged on Jason a lot, but they love him he loves them, and Lars isn't a dick, I met him at a meet and greet, hes actually very humble and funny...get to know someone b4 u criticize them

  • @capnkdawg you met someone one time in front of other people and you think u know them. From what i can tell lars is a dick

  • @IamTheRedneck So hes a dick from what you can tell because you've seen him do stuff...I'd say I know him a lot better than you do, especially since I happen to be a "Metallica fanboy" Im not saying he hasn't had his dick moments, but from what I could tell he was always just trying to be funny

  • @Ferarri355 You are clearly nothing more than an uneducated FUCK.

  • then lets see you post one better fags

  • You played it right one time, the last time just before the "ending-beat" of the song.

  • YEAH!!!

  • wrong...

  • ah that makes sense il try splittin it up that way, hope its easy

  • Yeah it may take alil time but you'll get it. You just follow up the double with the single on the left. Although the double strokes are pretty quick & constant, you remain busy with that foot. But the left is just single, lesser beats. So start slow and work your way up. You'll get there man. Good luck! : )

  • Love dem beats. If you know yer pedals pretty well and are good at quick double strokes on the main pedal and singles on the left then it's very easy.

  • im trying to master that jst now.......4hrs down getting there...........thats wicked thow respect man

  • Damn, son! Get Down!

    nice..

  • Dude nice foot work if you can could you make a deminstration video

  • are u using single strokes only or a combination between singles and doubles?

  • a combonattion of triples and doubles

It goes, Triple double triple double triple for the bass.

  • sick!

of the sickest rhythm drum lines in metal :)

  • that isnt with one foot look closly to the bass drum at the end he it using double kicks

  • This is REALLY good mate. That beat is hard to play. I know, cause i tried myself ;) You def nailed it, and i'm utterly impressed! Keep on rockin'!

  • SICK

  • SWEEEEEEET!!!!

  • wow

  • Very nice

Thats all i have to say

  • Hell yeah Sporting those cowboy boots! :P

  • where are the Cowboy boots all I see are socks...?

  • Romain Goulon Shows this technique in his "Kick Technique 2" Video

  • the very beggining is incorrect, try to liscen it closer, but the little double bass solo is right, nice work in there.

  • Holy shit you have the same kit as me, but yours doesn't sound like shit.

  • fucking awesome

    good job

  • too much funk from the symbals for it to be perfect, but other than that 5/5

  • apparently this song inspired bleed by meshuggah

  • both awesome tunes. i wake up to bleed everymorning

  • this song also inspired a beat in The Glass Prison by Dream Theater!

  • You're missing the second triplet in the group. Lead with the left foot doing the 8ths and let your right foot make up the triplet and 16th. That said, I can write the beat out on paper but I can't play it for shit - keep up the good work!!

  • the first part in incorrect; but nice performace btw

  • amazing.very very good job brother.you should post other video where one sees you play songs from Pantera on drums.congratulations man

  • Feckin awesome mate...

  • so close, it looks like you are doing the double with the right, keep your same rythem but do the double with the left and you will have it. I had a guy tell me i was doing all 16th notes....so some will be dumbass and some will try to help

  • tun the beaters over

  • That's the worst "foot work" I've ever wasted time to see, it is absolutely nothing like the original nor the live track.

But, keep it on; with some like 10,15,20 years of workout you'll achieve it!

  • hahahahahaha sik burn

  • i always thought they were triplets?!

  • Nice, on the Dvd it said Vinnie asked Tommy Lee to try and decipher that kick beat and he couldnt figure it out so good job :)

  • Almost! But not quite... 4st;)

  • awesome dude!

  • Very good my man!

  • wud u slow it down for us a little bit?

would u call ur double stroke a slide?

i think possibly becoming a little slower than that but you're doig it so fluidly at you faster tempo it IS impressive, im just not sure what im hearing

  • How can you play like that on the base drums? When I try to I kind of lose my balance and my feet have to stay on the pedal because my body tends to tilt forward.

  • Sik

  • Vinnie Fucking Paul

  • hat was kick ass

  • are you playing heel toe by the way?

  • mad respect for anyone who can pull off that tricky foot work on becoming!~

  • I respect anyone who plays in their socks, lol. Great job!

  • Thats good but not 100%

single, triple, double, triple, double, triple, single is what it should be

  • actually it's 32ds, not sixes.

  • Sounds good to me, though 32DD's are even better haha!

  • Honestly, i like the way you play it better.but the beginning thing has another double stroke in the middle, so with your right foot your playing

single, double, single, double, single, double, single. the left foot is right

  • Correctamundo

  • ahh,thats friggin awesome

  • Complimenti!!

  • Sweeeeeet!

  • Niiice is that an iron cobra?

  • an old one.....I got that like 6 yrs ago. still smooth as butta

  • yeah they're the best but i changed to dw 7000cuz it was just so many small changes that had to be done before the IC was perfect but once u get there its awesome

  • good job but....ur missing a triplet in the middle....

  • listen better

  • dude no offence....i make the same mistake....n im not able to put that triplet in i have a problem with leading with my left....you can probably do that....

  • I like that crazy footwork. Good Job.

  • @only1tige nice :)

  • this man speaks the truth. listen to the song slowed down with a program called "transcribe", and youll see theres one middle triplet your missing in the first part you play. killer job otherwise.

  • I know i missed that one in the middle,i hear ya..but people think that the pattern is diff. which it isnt, its the same as vinnie

  • yeah!

  • Tricky pattern, very smooth!

  • leadin' with the left, very fucki' nice...can't do doubles at that kind of pace unfortunately! i will succeed one day thouuuuggghhh!!! aaaargh

  • good shit

  • l rr l rl rr l rl rr l rl

  • holy shit your a beast

  • yeah rockin ;)

  • are you playin in cowboy boots?

  • its called socks you where them on your feet

  • Wear them on your feet* Jeezz...

  • thats badass

  • it's actually doubles.nice work though,very similar to vinnie's pattern.

  • I can dig it.You rock BITCHES!

  • i have been tryin 2 get that down for so long hells us yr foot pattern and slow it down plz

  • fuck yeah dude, nice job. what's the foot pattern for that? like i know the notes, but in what order (R,L) do the feet go in?

  • You rock dude!

  • left food it's easy but right food it's hard to play alterning between a single beat and a double beat with hell toe . siggle double at the same rythm like only single foot playing a normal sequence of double bass drum

  • dude what the fuck you are one badass drummer i can tell

  • soz, dont mean 2 nit pick, but there another double on the first beat of the second bar which you missed out.

  • the first beat isn't actually that hard, thanks, cos i now know how to do this. the second beat i can't do

  • wow thats amazing!

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • lol weres the rest of the song...

  • yeah, its rlrrlrlrrlrlrrlrlrr on the pedals nice job though.........

  • good job, but it's supposed to be 32nd notes, not 6's.

  • amzing... you are only doubling the right foot right?

  • yea, justthe right

  • KICK ASS! Incredibly man!

  • id appreciate that* :D

  • Yea...always start slow....when i do that beat I tend to slide my foot up and down the board. Makes it easier

  • id like to learn that, do you have any tip? id aprecciate

  • yeeaaaah!

  • nice one man!! :D

  • which pedals are thoes???by the way great job

  • tht was pretty sik dude...nice work!!!!

  • dude how do you do that!!

  • FUCKING GREAT, anyway, what kind of pedal do you use??

  • They're Iron Cobra pedals i can tell by the signature beaters

  • Fantastic. Your other vid is cool also. Do you always play in socks? I did for quite a while and started getting real tender. I switched to cheap bedroom slippers with about a 1/8 inch soul of rubber. They work great but they get pretty damn funky after a few weeks - and I don't mean "funky" like "in the pocket" funky.

  • I always wear socks. I get the most control out of em..haha! I can wear shoes, when I do there light Puma shoes but I cant get the best out of double stokes

  • so it's not impossible =) good job... do u use ur toes in any way?

  • Thanx.... no toes try and let the pedal do the work. but I mostly use the sliding method, when doing doubles

  • thats pretty impressive man! would like to see more stuff like that. can't think of anythin really special tho... mostly simple stuff like from chimaira and lamb of god...

  • Very nice!

  • pretty cool foot work buddy!
