They can dress it up all they want, but the reason they changed the name is because there is no longer a "Sonny" in the show. Demi Lovato has left, and there's no sense keeping it as "Sonny with a Chance" if the show is no longer about Sonny and Sonny isn't even present.

I love Sonny and So Random, but there's no reason to change the name. If we were going to change the name for every different season, last year would've been Channy. We don't know for sure if Demi is going, Disney normally changes the name for shows - Suite Life of Zack and Cody changed to Suite Life on Deck and Hannah Montana changed to Hannah Montana Forever.

What will become of Chad? If the show is about So Random how will he fit into it? He won't. Unless he becomes a cast member and that would be out of character for him. Call the show So Chad and have it just be about Chad.

Sure she's a good actress but if they would have canceled the show she wouldn't be acting in anything. Also this is good for the other stars to get the spotlight now. I think they should have filmed time before Sonny came to So Random if they still wanted to film without Demi. Then it wouldn't change a thing for example in Channy. And I would be glad to see what Chad was like back then ;D

I mean, Chad could've won the Musical Chairs thing but instead decided to help Sonny. Even though Sonny was acting, it shows that he cared about her more than winning. Season 1 they had feelings. @Mgirlzrock But why is there a point for them to have high ratings if there is no REAL relationship between any characters? No Channy! No Tawni's snobbiness! No Mackenzie Falls! There's NO show. Even if Demi comes back, and Chad somehow magically appears to star every week (which is the most unrealistic idea I've heard), it won't be the same and they'll lose their audience anyways. If the rating slowly decreases, maybe they'll change it back realizing it was better how it was. Better than this!

I think if Demi stops doing "Sonny With A Chance" it would be better for her career in the long run.

I was kind of surprised that they would change the name of the show, but it really only makes sense. I mean, Sonny, the title character, isn't gonna be there (temporarily) so it doesn't make much sense for them to keep the show with 'Sonny' in the title, until Demi is ready to return.

The change in the name is a lack of respect and an humilliatian to Demi if she's really coming back - even shows who change their names doesn't change it completely like this case.
If Demi is not coming back, well good luck to SoRandom cast, they will need it, especially if it's just sketches.
