Mercedes Lackey created the world of Velgarth, in which the many Valdemar novels are set. She writes/wrote MOST of the lyrics to songs about her various characters, but others have contributed. In addition, she has written filk songs about characters created by other writers; Leslie Fish has been an invaluable contributor to Valdemar music. If you Google "Firebird Arts & Music," you'll find LOTS of Lackey's songs in various formats.

I love Alberich, always have, even as a minor character in the Arrows books. I was really happy when Misty wrote a couple of books about him.

<3 This song is pure love. It was one of the first songs I put on my first mp3 player, way "back in the day" (lol in 1996). Alberich was always my favorite character in the books with Talia. For some reason, I really hated her xD but I liked the supporting characters so much I had to keep reading.

@widowow If by that, you mean you don't know who Artemis Entreri is, then let me explain. If you do, then ignore the rest of this reply. Entreri is a character from Forgotten Realms, he's a brilliant swords master with only one equal. He's also the most feared assassin to roam the Forgotten Realms. At the beginning, he truly "has no heart, his hide is iron cold."

I said this in for talia but whoever does Dirk's voice is amazing...thank you for putting this one up to even though I have this one..hehehee. As I said in for Talia I was able to recover all the songs from Heralds Harpers and Havoc except "for talia" *sighs* (HP decided to wipe out my comp but I was able to get a software that got most of it back...) Anyway..Thank you again for sharing all this wonderful filk with us..I really can't thank you enough. Most people don't know how good it really is

Is it? I didn't know that. I kept looking for pictures of a weaponsmaster, but I couldn't find any apropriate ones, except for this one. Strange, I read Salvatore, I know who Entreri is, but I don't remember seeing a picture.

In nearly every song of that kind is something true. Because sometimes Fantasy-books are in some ways more real than so called Reality-books, becaus they tell the truth in a more universal symbolic way.

This is such a true song. I really love the line "If he it is not he that pays but you and I" because its ture. When someone like that fails the are responsible for someone elses life being lost. So when they say "You and I arent strong enough to bare that kind of task" its true. Cuz most people arent.
