Just recently was directed to your youtube channel by a friend who knows I am an old-fashioned gal who loves to cook from scratch! I don't really fit in too much in society today. I use old-fashioned cloth diapers with pins, have 7 children, cook from scratch, everything from decor to furniture and shelves I DIY, People tell me kids are expensive and I wonder why they splurge on so many unnecessary luxuries. Clara did you ever eat Mush or Hasty Pudding as some called it? Except when we called it Hasty Pudding we put molasses in it and as Mush it was very much like grits but with a much smoother texture - honestly it is so much better than grits. ecember 24 at 8:00 in the morning a 14 year old boy by the name of scott johnson was found dead. Doctors coulsnt come up with the cause of his death. His mother checked his emails to see if she could figure out what happened. Turns out he was still signed into MySpace. Hello Clara, we are sailing back home to Texas and spending the night in the Tortugas'. It is very hot here, but with a sea breeze things are tolerable. We made your recipe this evening and it was wonderful. It was the perfect treat and the kids loved it. Thank You!

Dear Clara, I know this may seem selfish but maybe you don't have to "close up" shop, maybe you can do just holiday vids. With every one of your recipes I get so much more than just instructions for a delicious dish to make, I also get instruction for living. Your stories actually make me feel like I'm there. I do understand when you say people were happier then with less. I know why too, these days people just want to accumulate and never enjoy what they have. Food makes you enjoy life. <3

You have been a wonderful darling and I thank you for documenting your experiences. I am sorry to say that I never had a chance to write down or tape my grandfather before he passed away.
