I'm not commenting on the basic quality of this performance. But it is NOT too slow. Uneducated directors just go as fast as they can...and show their ignorance. There are thick chords that need to be heard. This tempo isn't so bad......
ooh i love this song. we did it for choir. won festival with it. i mean we would have any way cuz we kicked ass lol but this was by far my favorite song to perform.
I sang in that choir and I admit that it was not our best... Eck! The tenor solo was icky. I was a tenor and I had no confidence singing that part. Lol. One time the director was in his office with another teacher and (without prior planning) the choir started singing and walking towards the office. The director started swinging a lamp and the guest teacher was all: "What on earth is going on!?" So much fun. It was weird how we all had the idea at the same time though.
WOO!!! The Concert Choir at my school sang this at my school yesterday! Wow it was fun! xD The one at my school has like.... 3 amazing tenors and an amazing bass.... and an awesome soprano! xD I wish I sang this, but I'm skipping over concert choir and going into chamber choir(the highest class at my school o.o) This is such a fun song!! Good job on it as well, but my only recommendation for them: Work on accented notes and other changes in volume.
=] I am doing this song with them well HMS 8th grade with the chambers are doing this for a bourogh fest here. I was so happy when i saw this lol. We are pro.
when my ensemble performed that for the first time at the LBU festival, we didn't have that panel behind us so we failed at life. The acoustics were horrible and you could only hear yourself. We had a better chapel to perform it in later though.. was a friggin freight train. No offense, but the dymanics/speed/accuracy/notes of that song was subpar. I wish our's was videod. However, you guys seemed to have a ton of fun doing it, so best of fun.
So what if we all got a little carried away with our own part and lost dynamics. You may not see from the video, but this choir is a pretty good family and I just loved knowing that we had fun and how we sounded didn't matter as much as getting the chance to sing a crazy song like that together! Especially at California!!!!
this is a pretty good performance. I performed this last semester with my college choir and I can totally relate to the tempo changes. We all wanted to sing it faster than it was supposed to be. metronomes are magic!
I would like to floor the tempo on this :P... let us feel the devil within this piece... if you are going to go at this slow of tempo... you really need to accent some sections harder. Fairly clean though. Nice showing.
I believe that this choir is singing the song to slow, my choir is singing this for a festival and the tiempo of this song is much faster for us and it sounds really good.
this was much better than wut i have heard from other choirs, but u start really slow and it should match speed the whole way through i like the faster sections.
oh and tenors i am embaressed to be a tenor after that, we r tenors sing louder and don't hold back on those loud notes
My choir is doing this song, and we're a little slower because we're just learning, but I hope we're able to do the fast tempo like this choir. =] I think we're about the same size choir as that.
Really great, this was the first one I was able to actually hear the specific parts and hear the pronunciation of the words other than "Daemon". I loved it. =]
fire everyone who can't blend. At least have more dynamic crescendos and decrescendos.

i actually think it's just a tad too fast

Hmmm, a bigger choir doesn't mean better sound, blend your voices. I speak from experience, trust me on this :)

Other than the pitch and tempo problems, this is alright.

My choir did this during our Winter Concert of last year, and I have to say that it seems like their is a dynamic factor that is missing.
Everything is techincally correct, but the dynamics seem to get lost in the text.
TrafficPuzzle 3 years ago
Tenors need to watch their pitch at around 45 seconds in.
