To clarify: at the time, you had to apply for a directors account, and provide some evidence that you required/deserved one (i just gave my website).

Youtube reviewed my app and gave me a directors account, which at the time allowed me to upload videos longer than 10 minutes (i think up to an hour, and more than 100mb).

They have since changed this service, but videos uploaded at the time are not removed.

OMG WHY are people so nooby. He didn't apply for a directors account. You can change what type of account u have in your settings. As for the length of the video, it can be as long as you want as long as its within the upload size. Nice tut though

Wait I thought even With a director account, with the New Limit crap, it's 10 minutes MAX for Everyone(Except a few people) And the 2 Gig limit space.

Guys, i've mentioned it a couple of times already.

The video is 40 minutes long because i have a Director's account. Director accounts used to be able to upload videos of up to an hour. They can't anymore, but all previously uploaded videos remain.

As far as i remember, (it was a long time ago) it's compressed as a .mov with sorenson 3, and then uploaded and re-compressed into youtube's flash.

41 minutes is due to director accounts having had a time limit of an hour. The limit extension was removed, but not before i'd already uploaded this video.
