  • @x7stringinJSCx Its going through the clean channel. You could very well do it through the clean channel of any other decent tube amp to the same effect.

  • is there anybody that believe he use this pedal? hehehe

  • @dnrguit actually, belive it or not,he use this pedal live,i saw him year ago live and this zoom was on his Cornford amplifier,he use it only for delay in paralell lop on his amp,he is a great player,he can play with any equimpent and still sounded great, his sound is in his fingers

  • Whats the name of the funk song ?

  • HAHAHA!! I love his ad-voice....

  • "kotzen" means to puke in german. this supports that he's drunk

  • Professional demonstration by a top guitar player (even though I've never heard of him before this). I wish George Lynch would do the same for his GEORGE LYNCH SIGNATURE EDITION ZOOM G2G EFFECTS pedal.

  • 'Till You Put Me Down close-up at 2:38 , yeah!

  • RK is one of the best guitar player. More unexpected techniques in his playing...Really owesome...

  • Cool. Will it make me playy like him too?

  • Wow! go to 3:52, he shreds!

  • I bought this and it sounded like crap! it sounds good in this demo because his amp sounds good......

  • @metaloutlander dude, you play like crap, i have one and it sounds great

  • @metaloutlander You can't expect it to sound good if you're using it through a rubbish amp.

  • He does that English accent so well!...Richie is an outstanding guitar player..love his style.

  • he hasn't stopped making new licks!genius

  • 3:16 great riff

  • Well, gay, drunk etc, the guy can play!

  • he sounds gay promiting a sex tape

  • Best impression ever.... and im English.

  • those lead parts are crazy

  • He will never use this pedal live

  • sick

  • Shit.....who is this? Its not richie!!

  • @MasYoNo25 of course , he is richie kotzen

  • before you love this pedal you schould have in mind that hes using a very very good stra and a very very good cornford amp :P

  • @3550gol Yes people keep this in mind! His pickups and amp are very very good.

  • Same old same old same old crap

  • probably this this sounds only good when ritchie's playin

  • I take it he was playing through his Cornford amp. This is extremely important to the sound he is getting.

  • LOLOLOL, priceless

  • ah ah !! if it's a joke I love it ! and if it's not... i'd like to know how he play soo good with cocaine !?

    richie we love you !!

  • COCAINE

  • @jakupek no, he parodies the truly English accent

  • when did he tuen into a British chap? Wanker

  • @wisesatyr72 he is trying to be funny with the british accent.

  • @wisesatyr72

    why is a Brit a wanker?are u a seppo?

  • @wisesatyr72

Its a joke...that you apparently don't get, Wanker.

  • @krelbar maybe hes doing a nigel tufnel impression.

  • @chubbymosher700 Or, in the sprit of Nigel...LOL

  • Ha-ha, amazing!

  • motha head's family reunion :D

  • 2012 is coming WE ARE ALL GONG TO DIE. SMOKE CIGERETTES, BREAK SHIT AND STEAL SHIT AND TELL YOUR BOSS HE IS A FAG AND SPIT ON HIM.

  • @Drew927 when it comes im going to take a shit on your head

  • lol

  • 3:16 Uhhh,, fantastic!!!! Cover Me intro riff !

  • It's a little bit drier than his regular sound. Ok it's a big bit drier than his regular sound, but it is a Zoom. Richie's bad to the bone though, so it's all good.

  • I've been trying to figure out the riff he plays at 1:11 and just can't get it all... if someone could help, it would be much appreciated!!! thanks all

  • @BloozieStrat E7 like the open C7 chord type from the 7th fret, then 4th 5th on the a string

  • @NeckPickup cool cool... thanks

  • The tones on this little modeling toy are really bad, but man, Kotzen is SUCH a monster player! Still has all those monster chops intact!

  • Still LMAO every time I watch this. (...and that's on a weekly basis I might add) :)

  • I've watched this a couple of times already but still can't stop laughing. it bring out the funny side of my guitar hero! :D

  • Why does he sound exactly like Austin Powers?

  • great playing, and beautiful clean sound!

  • i'll be this one!!!sweet sound from a GUITAR HEROE

  • milagre tira som desse bagulho

  • he never uses the bridge PU in this vid? why? because it makes the nasties of digital effects more apparent.

and I would also like to know what he plays thru.

I don't want to slag this unit: it sure is amazing not only for its price, BUT why would you use it if you have the money to buy and the people to haul around the expensive super-stuff?

  • Comment removed

  • so?

  • because he doesnt need expensive stuff, its not how expensive your gear is that matters, just what you do with it.

  • Exactly!!

  • Props to Richie and Zoom for putting in the extra effort to create this video. I am always curious to hear artist presets because some are very useful and well thought out (I would put this device in that category) and some are more like "I'll spend half a day dinking around and then slap my name on it for the money."

    Thanks Richie!

  • "Richie uses expensives tube amps SO he can't use digital effets !" I really hate when people, above all "musicians" are that close minded, give it a try before express yourself ! I personnaly use my zoom g2g in my Marshall TSL effects loop since before zoom released the g2r ! It's clear and beautiful ! Small! Tuner integrated ! I only used the fx cause, to my opinions dist/amps suck (but it can be fine to practice when your not at home, there's a drum machine inside and batteries live long!!)

  • he actually uses it... i was surprised check out his gear... ahaha

  • yea he uses it in a cornford amp in the fx loop even tho i think i saw a vid were he said he only uses the delay an verb on the pedal

  • He just made the presets. It doesn't mean he has to use them personally.

He just uses the reverb and the delay live.

  • @RelaxationII of course man..... why would he use digital overdrive combined with a SUPER EXPENSIVE TUBE AMP.......

  • money.....

  • dude ...i dont like multis ...and dont forget hes using valve amps ...by themselves make the guitar sound great...but richie is my favorite

  • Riiiiight. He has his own model of Cornford amp and he's going to deaden his tone by putting a Zoom pedal in his FX loop. Give me a break!

  • he actually does use it in the loop lol it sits right on top of his amp saw it last time i saw a gig ...he only uses the verb an delay however he doesnt use the distortion or anythin else

  • man he is reeal funny , he must act in bruce almighty

  • i dont like multis:-(

  • Any power distortion???

  • He's mad man :D

  • sounds are cool ! But screw it ... watching him play & doodle is the real ..Electric Joy ! :-)

  • He only uses this thing for reverb and delay.

  • haha! with english accent?!?! :D

  • he really use this?, and is a diference with the normal g2?. im searching for a good acustic sumulator and a autowha and maybe a harmonizer

  • Lol !!! It's very funny/ironic video ))))

  • nice try richie but guthrie has the best accent.

  • really cool and funny guy; I've seem in France and he is so talented as a guitarist or singer now

  • Thats a pretty sweet collection of sounds for only a hundred bucks. Hmmm.

  • WHAT!!!! i paid 140 pound which is 280 dollars for it that included the wah wah pedal :O

  • dude the expression wah is 65 bucks plus about 25 for the charger than the dealers have to make a profit so

  • Fender and Kotzen... I think this says it all...

  • ah ah he's imitating Paul Cornford english way of speaking! He' so funny! :D

  • What's the song in 1:11?

  • Comment removed

  • He uses this riff in his farewell solo with mister big, this riff kinda looks like the riff of Burn It Down too.

  • I can't stop laughing with the intro!

BTW: I couldn't count how many times I said "damn it" watching him playing those rythms

  • Nice English accent!

However, don't give up the day job! ;-)

  • is he drunk..??

    lol awesomeness guitarist..

  • He really hams it up at the start

  • Even a piece of s**t would sound good if it's played by him... :D

  • That's the moral of the story.

  • LOL they have probably told him to speak clearly for the video and this is what happened

  • What's with his voice? lol

  • try to act like j. deep in willy wonka!

  • Nice! Till You Put Me Down at 2:39

  • the 1 and only

  • this guys amazin i cant belive iv never heard him before

  • You know, he has played with Poison and Mr. Big. He is a shredder form back in the day, but contrary to the rest of those guys Richie can play in a variety of styles and do it well: Metal, Rock, Blues, Funk...

None of his peers were as versatile as him.

  • Who are you and what did you do with richie

  • More than drunk he looks a very funny person, isn't he?! Great musician anyway, and great tones!!

  • is he drunk/drug ???

  • Zoom is for kids :)

  • You forgot Cornford Amps ^^

  • With the CUSTOM FENDER and Richie FUCKING Kotzen playing, any Zoom pedal would sound good ...

  • exactly.

  • what amp is he using???

  • He's probably going into a Cornford.... Perhaps an effects loop..

  • Thanks bro.

    Sir Richie rocks :D

  • cornfords are just for show here he said in an interview that its a vibro king

  • i'm guessing his signature Cornford head and 4x12 cab

  • i cant stop laughing. :) shows that hes got a sense of humor

  • great to learn some rhythm parts on guitar

  • how many of richie's total presets are present in the G2R? does anybody have a copy of the settings? i have a G1K (kiko loureiro) signature and im willing to trade settings... hehe... peace!

  • I bought the Zoom G2R and I can't believe that I all of a sudden play just as good as Kotzen. I went from playing basic triads and simple scales, to flawless sweeping, hybrid picking and advance voicings the minute I received the G2R. Must have sold my soul.

  • most 80s guitarist are poser ...but Richie Kotzen is the real good guitarist

  • I'm an italian RK fan from the age of 6...I really don't like it...seems to be an old digital pedalboard...don't know how to say but...naaa...ggreat RK but that pedal isn't the good way for he's real sound...

  • Some great tones.

    Great playing.

Way better at guitar than at accents!

  • cool i have 1

  • i dunno... sound pretty good through the clean channel of those Cornfords he has behind him. Of course, Richie can play a cardboard box and make it sound great.

  • Back on the Skag again...

  • "where did our love go" - that was the first song that RK played in the video. :-)

  • Does anybody know what´s the name of the song he plays with the first preset?

  • sounds like "Where did our love go" ...not sure

    Addie

  • Love this guy,he's a great guitarist,with a real feeling for jazz-fusion!

  • and the classic stratocastor overdrive.

  • How can i get that old school overdrive on my G1X pedal?

  • Sounds WAYYY to synthetic for my taste

  • Obviously he is doing an impersonation of Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, well done Richie

  • ... complete waste of time.

  • On the cleaner sounds, it sounds like there's a mic in the room..maybe the camera mic. Actually, even on the lead sounds..I guess i answered my question. :P

But if you could confirm this for me, SamsonTech, that would be awesome :)

    Cheers

  • Haha.. he's so nuts! But you can tell that from the way he plays :P

What i do wanna know please, if anyone knows - is this sound directly from the pedal into the mixer? Or is this a miced amp?!?!

If anyone knows, please enlighten me!

    Thanks so much!

    cheers,

    tony

  • lol...this is funny.

  • drop the accent mr Kotzen...

  • is this effect is different than the standard G2? or everyone can get this tune with standard G2?

  • This is different... Richie is demoing his own signature G2R. It's basically the G2, but with different patches that Richie created exclusively for his pedal.

  • He is the best!

  • Nasty nasty phaser

  • It's Richie's Austin Powers impression........'Oh behave!'

  • why does he talk that way?? hahahaha.. i really laughed because of the intro!

    very classy player

  • Thats why he talked that way...a sense of humor!

  • Sounds like Richie Kotzen playing through a Zoom Pedal. He can make anything sound good, but it is easy to notice there is a lack of sustain to this pedal...especially in comparison to his cornford amps.
