The wife as quality control? HA! That makes perfect sense: I can see her walking around with a meter stick: WHACK! (on the head!) that weld spot isn't big enough! WHACK! The board needs another nail! WHACK! That door needs a deadbolt!
One question: how do you operate the slide? Is it on a hydraulic pump?
Wow amazing. I want to build a camper when I have the money to do it properly. That is amazing. What did you use for the exterior ? It is a premade product? Is it metal or a poly type material.
Awesome! I made a toy hauler out of an enclosed trailer and it turned out nice but nothing like this! Great job! I desighned the interior and made all my own cabnets wired and installed my own AC unit, ceiling and cabnets. Im proud of mine, but you did an awsome job!
well dude if you still read these please get back with me, the project i am working on now will blow you away, and heck i would like to talk to you, i have built over 100 hot rods etc. but my next project is a little nuts.let me tell you when it is done it will be 2 floors and with the toter it should be around 80ft. long.and suck fuel but hell it's not all about the MPG's
GREAT JOB, YOU ARE JUST LIKE MY HUSBAND HE TOOK STOCK TRAILER AND FINISHED IT OUT LOOK LIKE FACTORY FINISH. I WAS SO PROUD OF HIM ALSO, YOUR FAMILY MUST BE PROUD OF YOU TOO.
Amazing job family! I was curious as to if you still have the plans around or if you could kinda tell me how its done...lol I would love to do one of these but don't have the engineering brain like you got... anything would be appreciated!
WOW! 9 Grand! That's awesome! I have almost 90 into mine and still have a ways to go. I rebuilt a class C into a toy hauler 4 years ago and that was about 15 or so. Great job!
WOW! $9K ....I've got almost 90 into mine and still going. I rebuilt a class C into a toy hauler 4 years ago and that cost about 15. Hats off to you! Looks great
WOW! $9K ....I've got almost 90 into mine and still going. I rebuilt a class C into a toyhauler 4 years ago and that cost about 15. Hats off to you! Looks great
Not back but I see a big problem with your slide out which you didn't reinforce with a steel frame and sliders attached to the trailer frame. You are putting allot of weight on the side wall and I would like to see now if the slide out is not warped or leaking water?
Hey I thought about to Build One and there is now just the question from where to get the Trailer! Can you Tell me did you just take One or from where you've got yours? Thanks a Lot!
great job! i am planning to build a truck camper, just researching materials, what did you use for your exterior? is that fiberglass reinforced panels? if so where do you get them and how did you seal the joints? thanks ahead of time!
I have to give you Credit it came out to be really nice I could live in something like that. I just couldn't build it Due to health reason, But I'll get me one soon. Be very Proud of it you have done something you can say you put all the hard work into. Have fun Camping/Living in your New Home... Sincerely, Ronnie
$9300?? I'm guessing you got a lot of free materials. The trailer alone must have been close to $2000 and the AC unit had to be close to $800. Great job.
Bravo man, thats a stellar job you did there and probably better quality than the factory would make it.. I like all the unique touches. Pat yourself on the back man.
I'm forever envious... why couldn't I have been born with handyman talent? All genetics got me was a beer belly... and I don't even drink. Talk about your all time rip-offs!
wow man. this looks better than some of the new factory fifth-wheels out there! I just wonder how much longer or shorter its lifespan will be, and how much heavier it is (not that you start to care about weight by the time you get to this size).
and nothing beats the complete customization that you can only get from something entirely home-made. you are one of the few people who can say "Nobody in this world has a trailer like this".
The homebuilt slideout's the most interesting, for me. Were there any issues with leaking, leaves on the top of the slide, or the structural integrity of the rest of the box? Did the slide mechanism ever jam or wedge?
I love it when someone uses their imagination and creates something from scratch. Dude, this is amazing! The people that have anything negative to say are the ones who are jealous that they can't build something like this and they want to knock anyone who has abilities that they either don't have or are too lazy to acquire! Good job, my friend! I bet your wife/girlfriend has fun telling her gf's about the home on wheels her hubby built whether they like the idea or not! NICE!!!
Looks AWSOME. Very professional. If I hadn't seen the video I would have doubted it was homemade. Looks just like it rolled off of the factory floor. I'm impressed!!!
excellent work! that takes so much motivation and hard work. very nice job. looks very very nice. equivelant to a $50,000 trailer. do it for a living.
Shit $9,300! Why then do manufactures can get away with charging $50,000-$100,000+. Home build what you want, make it better and make it water tight the first time. Hell with all the money you save, go solar power. Then when you sell it you can get that $50k+. Smart just smart.
All I have to say is Kudos to you sir. Fantastic job. I was looking into buying a 40' fifth wheel, but if you can build it for a third of their going rate now, I'm sure I could do the same.
How did you get the plans for it? Current RV layouts or custom model design? New appliances I assume?
Wow! I'm totally impressed! I have been looking at RV's for almost a year now. To be able to make your own, just the way you want it, and you know what the quality is, and you can do the job for $9,000+..... What a feeling of satisfaction that must be! A Big Congratulations to you! I see there are some jealous people out there that know how to make a comment on YouTube but do not even know how to spell the basics. Ah, well. They are everywhere. Anyway, great job!
... why did you make it your self i mean you made it look just like every other factory one why not making something special or if you want this just ... buy it
Holy jeeze man. I've seen a pretty fair share of homemade fifth wheels and other RV's, but this is by far the best built I've seen, and the one that looks most like one that rolled out of Indiana. Props to you, I'm extremely impressed
You & your team did a great job. Congratulation. Give me some advice please. I bought a small beat up trailer for $100.00, I look at it as a challenge for me since I never try to fix up things. you are too cool. to be able to build one that looks better than most mass produced is a testiment in itself. go all out on the next one. exotic flooring and counters. crystal light fixtures. as well as that one turned out, you should take on a motor coach.
