> you are one of the few people i have ever seen that has perfect pitch. you should really take it more seriously.
I'm not singing, so I don't think you mean "perfect pitch." Do you mean "perfect time"? If so, thanks--but I confess that I have headphones on, and I'm listening to a metronome.
I have loved this song for years....I'm a novice piano player, and I am blown away at how good this arrangement is. Congratulations. Can you do one for the sax solo on the live version of Reasons on Gratitude? :)
Four children and a demanding day job leave me little time to make *any* videos, tutorials or otherwise ... but should I ever get around to making one for "Reasons," I'll let you know!
@ToddGates haha i didnt even know u replied back to me. but thanks i understand ur time is short lol nice though, u see i had to come back for seconds cause i knew u killed it. props :D
The opening, ending, and verse alternates between Eb major and Ab minor (with a major 7th).
For the rest, it gets a little more complicated ... it's best to do a google search under "Earth Wind Fire Reasons chords"--you'll get hits that will show you which chords go with which lyrics.
Todd i have the sheets for this piece and they do not sound half this good...but if you cant do a tutorial at least mail me the way you played it and the key of this piece...if possible...
> at least mail me the way you played it and the key of this piece.
It's in the key of Eb major (my version & the original) ... unfortunately I don't have anything to "mail," because it's my own arrangement. I looked at the sheet music in the store, and the only versions I could find had a very simplified bass line. So I listened to the original and did my best to come up with something that sounded close. Then it took me a bit of time to put the two hands together.
This arrangement looks relatively easy, but what made it tricky for me to learn was that the left hand plays mostly right on the beat, but the right hand anticipates the beat by one sixteenth note. I don't think I have sufficient teaching / video-making skills to show others how to do this!
Very excellent job my friend!

If you mean metronome settting, I think it was 66 (when I record, I usually have headphones on & am listening to a metronome).

Thanks---I thought I'd do something different from the metal roll (Korn, Alice in Chains, Papa Roach, etc.) I've been on lately.
