You can hire bikes at thredbo just type into google South east mountain biking co. and then it shouild be the link for australia and stuff and it tells you all the prices and everything you need to know about it and everything.. have fun there

btw i don't mountain bike ride. when u go through the trees do u ever worry about someone who has fallen over JJJUST around the corner and ur going fast of bashing ur shoulder into a tree and falling? all of that looks really hard 2 me
