are you sure these are 0.177g and not 1.77g bbs? ive never heard of steel bbs below .3g

These are traditional metal BB's as used in Crossman and Daisy airguns and are .177 in CALIBER.

With any metal round there's is a strong potential for injury. However the Strafer in 6mm caliber using plastic airsoft BB's have been used successfully for wargaming and less-lethal use as long as the user exercises muzzle discpline and keeps velocities under about 400 FPS.
