  • it is not

  • She is hot and smoking legs!

  • Jazz!

  • That plant is awesome!!! But am I the only one who thinks that chick is super sexy?

  • Comment removed

  • the money spent is negligible in comparison to, say, military spending.

  • Lovely! and congratulations on the first full-circle beam!

Just one wish: please add subtitles so the hard of hearing can enjoy as well, as well as allow auto-translation to non-English speakers.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Another try at CERN, after repair's on the LHC machine, maybe, November 20 or 21. 2009 !? Protons accelerate in LHC and Collide in ATLAS, This European CERN = Government founded, established by 12 European governments in 1952, LHC = cost about 9 billion dollars !? Norway, pays about 18 millon US dollars every year, into the CERN project ! CERN has 20 member countries, as sponsor's !

  • its 23rd and they not colliding to about january probably :)

  • love the background music

  • 20/12/....20-21Des=20/12=2012 ? CERN, testing full power ( LHC ) Time Travel ( black hole ) funnel from earth directly 2 outer space = super vacuum ! Hope the doors, are strong enough 2 close fast enough, so we dont lose all the oxygen, on earth, in a few days ! Or maybe stuff get' s sucked into the hole ! Each LHC end-cap is 13 metres in diametre and weighs 240 tonnes ?

Open a black hole, from the moon, 2 outer space, no danger, because of equal atmospheric pressure !

  • what are you smoking, man? :-)

  • Has anyone ever done that trick where you put paperclips between magnets and they stand up? This thing could make whole freakin trains stand up!

  • I predict they won't find the Higgs Boson particle. It is in theory very very large and unstable. You are not going to find that by smashing things up. It does not compute.

  • Stop talking like you know shit. It's a bit more complicated than just smashing things up. And they don't even look at the higgs boson itself, but the decay particles.

  • I agree. I wonder how they can determine what happened seconds after the big bang by smashing hadrons, from helium. The choice of what to smash seems random, plus what if some other type of sub atomic particle was smashed? Why couldn't we determine the origins of the universe from that?

  • It may be cool but it's carbon footprint is very warm for the environment.

  • true, but some projects are worth investing in, because the benefits outweigh the cost. This is one. there are many better examples for ones that are not.

  • They are looking for the Higgs Boson, and as far as finding other things I predict they will discover heavier elements also at the facility

  • look closely at 0:14 she's SHAPE SHIFTING! this is a REPTILIAN.... dont trust her

  • lol youre dumb

  • that project is so massive. i hope they discover some dark matter or something useful, otherwise some heads are going to roll. personally, i hope they open a hole into the space-time continuum.

  • LoL I hope you are kidding.

  • Stop worrying guys it kills us all in one go.BOOM!

  • again

  • This is costing a lot of money, I hope it works.

  • Don't worry guys nothing goes wrong. Trust me, I'm a time traveller.

  • I find it funny that people who comment the LHC are usually religious and think it will destroy the world. Aren't these the folks who should be saying 'Go ahead! you won't find anything because it was God all along!' not so sure about God then aren't they?

  • haha, thats why i dont worry

  • armaggedon is coming! :D 2010, wasnt it?

    PS Good point ;)

  • That's what they said the first time.... They used it and nothing happened... This clip was from last year most likely

  • they didnt raise the collision speeds over the typical for previous particle accelerators. The real deal only begins.

(But of cource i dont believe in this black-hole stuff, just to be correct)

  • they used it and it broke. a fifty ton magnet moved 1 meter away on its own. They rebuilt the whole thing, most likely taking in consideration this new data. It should work this time.

  • All systems go!

  • you mean the guys accent

the accent of the woman isn't as bad as his

  • Well who cares? He's good looking xD

Anyway, fantastic news! Can't wait to see a Higgs particle!

  • LHC is teh 1337

  • What part of it scares you?

  • Why not? Then again, it depends how you describe the word god. If that god is knowable, then yes. If not, then no.

  • Not really. The more I know about it, the less afraid I am. Just do some poking around and I think you'll feel more secure about it.

  • bullshit

  • ur a dumbass

  • Before you started talking nonsense, you should have done your research. You need to understand that these collisions happen all the time on earth and in space, such as cosmic rays colliding with molecules in the atmosphere. The LHC is just a device that lets scientists study those collisions.

  • I feel that the 'Big Bang' (BB) is a local explosion that happened to form all that we can currently see in outerspace, but that this is only one of many we'd find if we could see farther into the distance, which the dust&debris of the BB would hide from light, but 'James Webb Telescope' might see past that&find other 'BB's have happened&as they crash together they form new big bangs,in this way is conservation of energy,as it grows thinner,is also gathered together again&entropy recycles itself.

  • Ideas on what will be their discoveries: I think if they find something like the 'Higgs particle', that it will be linked very closely to gravitation, and that even though scientists think gravity is rather weak. What they find will be a close connection with what keeps the galaxies linked at greater distances without having to find 98% Dark surfaces that are made up of matter or antimatter. And that the 'Big Bang' will go on indefinitely until it meets another such Bang.

  • The production of these videos are getting better and better, I guess they're learning while doing them. Heh.

    Cool video, once again.

  • yeah good observation

  • cool

  • We're counting on all of you at CERN! Thanks for everything!

  • yeah! Yesss! CANT WAIT! In few months expect the creation of Higgs particles, oh it will be such a massive discovery in science!

  • @ 6:47 , please tell me that the greatest experiment in physics isn't relying on windows !!

  • lol

  • :-D At least it 's XP and not Vista...

  • i wonder what disabled the "European Council for Nuclear Research" (i.e. "The European Organization for Nuclear Research" in english ) ?

you know what's worst than trolls ?

Trolls who don't do their homework !

  • Come on, you know what I mean, of course it is the LHC and I'm not a troll. Wait and see, it will never operate.

  • I don't know who you are but I'm guessing the staff knows all about CERN much better than you do.

  • Great job! Keep doing this videos!

  • Now I know where to cool the beers :)

But really.. I am so impatient! I want to see smashin' protons! :D

  • The more I watch the progress of this project it baffles me why if we as a species are capable of this how is it that we seem powerless to make a larger impact on things like space travel and protecting the population from the 11 solar cycle rolling at us come 2012 - -I could be all wet...not seeing the forest for the trees

  • idiot.

  • God damn it, so much PR fluff for the LHC.

Just find that fucking Higgs boson already!

  • The Higgs Boson is only one of the many new things the LHC could discover. But don`t forget Fermilab in the US. It might just be able to beat the LHC concerning the Higgs Boson despite the machines much lower energy levels it is just within the range of the Higgs(if it even exists). If the LHC is damaged once more Fermilab will surely find it first. Very exiting stuff.

  • Exactly, nobody talks about Fermilab but LHC raises attention everywhere, in the news on forums etc. It's not like it's the only particle accelerator on the planet.

  • why are we waiting~!

    why are we waiting~!

    why are we waiting~!

i cant wait! i missed the first one, i hope theres live streaming of the next one!!!

  • !!!!Get firing already!!!!! let's see the goods

  • LHC just got cooler than ever before!

  • now thats a proper fridge, couldnt get much cooler than that, well, unless they used helium isotopes, but i guess that would double the cost of the whole machinery :p

  • START IT ALREADY!

  • Comment removed

  • Would also be interesting to know what the energy costs are, or at least how many trucks keep coming in.

  • As far as I know, the electric power consumption of the city Geneva (~190.000 residents) above the LHC is doubling doing operation!

  • so, when exactly are they going to start the lhc?

  • start it already I'm dying here.

  • haha, well, the only thing we'll find out right after the start - is if we all gonna die instanty sucked in into back hole or not :D (well, i dont believe it anyway ;))

However, all the results will be only after analyzes are done, probably years after first experiments. And most of them well be gold for the scientists, but unless you're studing physics - you'd have a hard time to understand them...

However, LHC is still one of most fascinating machines ever built :)

  • You don't have to study physics to understand the result of LHC

Because if it does work it might change the world.

  • oh so uh...when does the earth get swallowed up? lol

  • Scientists beer coolers are the best.

  • Anything to do with science is cool :D
