  • you are a fantastic player

  • @dusted04 Thanks bud :)

    Josh

  • Great tone, how well does the jvm sound at low volume?

  • @prabowoputra Cheers, it actually sounds ok at low volumes. But it will sound a bit fizzy particularly on the drive channels. However that will happen with any valve amp, apart from ones that can switch down to lower wattages.

  • marshall or egnater??

  • @TheJoonaataas Egnater, just in opinion.

  • This video went viral on Afghanistan

  • i think thinking this amp the combo version or the blackstar ht series combo (likely the 215 combo vs ht 60) i see you reviewed both brands which tones you think is more open sounding, dynamic, and versatile ?

  • @ikfengmusik While the Blackstar is a great sounding amp. I thought it sounded a bit sterile and lacking character, hopefully that makes sense. I thought the Marshall was a lot more versatile, and the switching system and being able to create and save preset tones is a really great feature.

The Marshall felt a lot more responsive, dynamic and responds well to the volume control on the guitar.

  • @testing123reviews hey men, could you share all the settings please (specially the crunch/lead one)... cheers from CR. awesome amp.

  • @Blackoutshred Channel 2 Gain = 1 o'clock, Bass = 12 o'clock, Treble = 1 o'clock, Middle = 12 o'clock, Presence = 11 o'clock. Then just switch through the different coloured LED's to get more gain.

I used similar settings on channel 1, maybe a little less Treble for the clean sounds.

  • Hi Josh, I'm having some trouble deciding between a JVM 210H and a DSL 100. I'm looking for a hot-rodded, Marshall tone with that classic Marshall upper-mid bite. Think Doug Aldrich. Some people say that the DSL has a more raw tone and that the JVM is more compressed. Can you help maybe shed some light on this or offer your suggestion?

  • @8bigtubes The JVM can achieve those modded Marshall tones very well. I prefer it to the DSL, also the switching system is pretty innovative making it more versatile than the DSL. It can get a bit compressed but it depends on where you have the gain control set, I had it set at 12 o'clock which gave me more than enough gain and clarity.

    Hope that helps

  • @testing123reviews Thanks for the super quick reply Josh!

Quick question, at 3:06, were you on the Orange mode of the OD channel? And at 3:24, were you on the Red mode?

Can you recall how high you had your gain for these two modes?

  • @8bigtubes At 3:06 I was on the Orange mode on the OD channel, and at 3:24 I was on the Red mode. The gain was at 12 o'clock on both tones.

  • @testing123reviews Cool! At 4:02, you stepped on the footswitch I assume? What did you activate?

  • @8bigtubes Yep I stepped on the footswitch, activating the Master 2 volume boost to get a lead boost.

  • Love that strap what is it please?

  • @CYBERTWIN68 Haha it is part of the Tear Wear range from Levy's

  • Awesome demos! I really enjoy watching and listening! Question, what cab are you using? It looks like an Egnater, I've got a Tourmaster 212x on order to pair up with my JVM and this would give me an excellent idea of how that would sound.

  • @RidiculousTuna Thanks dude. I was using my Tourmaster 4x12 cabinet with Vintage 30's. One of the best sounding cabs I've played through. I've tried the 2x12 as well, and it is equally brilliant.

  • So Who was Your guitar Teacher ?? :)

  • @legendsveil I had lessons with the fantastic Ben Fleetcroft from Fleetcroft Guitars in Surrey in the UK, then after finishing school I went to the Academy of Contemporary Music which is like the UK equivalent of Musicians Institute and I was there for 4 years.

  • @testing123reviews Ohh , I'm in the U.S. and theres only like one guitar teacher I like but he doesn't play like metal or around modern riffs Haha

  • great review, and the way yo play...

the constant use of chiken piking gives you a tone that not a lot of players have these days.

  • @diegopaff Thanks for the comment dude. Chicken/hybrid picking has become a big part of my playing style :)

  • Jailbrake!

  • Can you change the modes in the footswitch?

  • You rock bro.....

  • @taztherocker1 Thanks dude \m/

  • How would you compare it with the JCM 800?

    Great demo

  • @brunocamposguitar This amp is a lot more versatile than the JCM 800, because of the multi channel switching. But the JCM 800 is still a great sounding and classic amp.

  • your my favorite reviewer man you do a great job

  • @dudewtfwastht Thanks for the kind words dude :)

  • awesome review, superb amp, and once again superb guitar skills.

  • @zola116 Thank you very much :)
