  • its the only tiny car that doesnt look cute :)

  • We're all getting fatter? Speak for yourself, I know myself and the other Tom Ford would strongly disagree....

  • May as well remove the forth seat.

  • the seat moves when he was going to the back

  • the 2008-present Toyota iQ/ Scion iQ is assembled in

    Takaoka, Japan

  • I want to know how much it can tow!

  • Poor playmobil.

  • Does anyone notice when he flips the front seat up to get in, the front seat also slides forward so he now has more leg room in the back then he would have had if someone actually stayed in the front seat

  • as long as southerners keep driving there trucks these small cars are not safe

  • Wow, I really like this car! I hope my head won't reach the top :(

  • Really good CO2? CARBON DIOXIDE IS NOT A POLLUTANT! Ask a plant.

  • @PilgrimLad Amen! And I tire of European and british car reviewers citing this nonsense statistic like it has some sort of meaning to the average car buyer.

  • @order9066 It does have a meaning to us. The more CO2 the car produces the more we have to pay to tax it. This car produces so little its free to tax.

  • @PilgrimLad but you know, what CO2 too much does ?

  • Here's a thought :

Toyota 3+1/2 seats , no convertible available

Smart 2 seats , a very nice convertible available

Mini, 2+2 seats, a girly and too expensive convertible available

  • i currently have the original smart fortwo which i love dearly, apart from the bumpy as hell ride, but i really do like this little car over the new fortwo which was going to be my upgrade in June, but this just ticks every box! brilliant

  • I was going to buy one of these in the US, but it will be a Scion and have a stupid CVT, not a manual gearbox.

    Toyota, you lost a sale!

  • @SpeedingStudent ; HAHAHAHA A FUCKING TOYOTA FAN, AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO

CONSTANTLY FLAME ITALIAN CARS, YOU ARE A TYPICAL ARROGANT YANKIE SCUM BAG..

FUCK THE USA..Nuke the bastards where are you Mr Achmed????

  • If 4 of him sat in there... the car wil not even do a 0-60

  • Looks really good, and I have to say I'm not really into small cars.

  • I've got one aleady it is magnificent it's well equipped!!!!!1

  • Fantastic car!

  • my dream car

  • I've driven a Smart and I don't like the way it changes gear. Far too slow. I test drove the IQ3 (1.3litre) yesterday and was blown away by the way it drives. I am 6 foot and could easily sit behind the front passenger. We have 3 in our family, so the car would suite us perfectly. Not so with the Smart as it's only for 2. So it's  up for me.

  • this car has 4 seats, why has itgot 4 seats. u cant get any1 in the back. wste of money. toyota u try to beat the smart. U FAILED

  • @TheDudleyheathens helll noooo

IQ devours the Smart. better shifting gears, more fun to drive, more passenger capacity (3 is still better than 2), smoother drive. and its hell lot nicer looking too.

  • @TheDudleyheathens its called 3+1 seating. 3 adults and 1 small child and this car is a whole fucking foot longer than the smart and 5 inches wider.....

  • @sexyboi142

but you can still transport a dishwasher with a Smart ....look it up.

I have a Smart Fortwo convertible ; couple weeks ago , i had to transport a ladder, no problem.

The fourth seat in a IQ is only usefull for a passenger with no legs.

  • @at17021999 why would anyone want to put a dishwaher in a smart car!?! the forth seat is for like...a child under the age of 10

  • @at17021999 but iq is more more better

  • Why is it a disaster? I think this is the way to go if we want to save the planey

  • this car is disaster...

  • @abhiisgr8 least until you test drive it.

especially against the smart car, but the car itself is a neat experience, thats the best i can put it.

  • @Sharod101 you should remember that the smart car was designed in 94 and launched in 98.

  • i like it!

  • I'm so glad Toyota decided to sell this in the US! It'll be under the Scion brand here. I'm hoping to replace my current car with one next year.

  • " We all are getting fatter.. but everything else in the world, is getting smaller.. "

    I think that's true..

  • It looks good, is anybody know when will be sell at hong kong and how much is it? Cause I love the tester said it is great for a family like me which is a couple plus one child.

  • This car is fantastic! I drove one last week and absolutely loved it! It looks gorgeous, rides so well and is so nippy for a 1.0-litre you don't need anything else! Go for the 1.0-litre manual and you won't even have to pay road tax! Brilliant!

  • Actually, I've heard Toyota will be bringing this to the states for 2011 under the Scion nameplate.

  • Engine should have been put under the rear seats, eh? Then 4 adult passengers.

  • the iq is gonna be launched in the u.s as a scion around late 2010 or 2011

  • great car...definitely my next buy

  • We were on vacation in the UK this past week, and saw these. I love them. I would only hope Toyota would bring them here to the states!

  • @jthulan Yes I have a friend with an IQ and it is great fun. Very very cheap to run.

  • LOVE THIS CAR!! Waiting patiently in the U.S. for one of these :)

  • Saw one at a car show today... A marvelous little thing, I tell you. My buddy who's 2m tall (6'8") took a seat in the front and he said it's wonderfully comfortable. Definitely a good investment.

  • best luck for toyota-i will never buy anything exept toyota

  • The problem with is Tom Ford when it comes to land rover all his comments and reviews are positive. But when it comes to other brands its nagative.

  • @geekrevo He liked the IQ.

  • toyota ftw!!! :P:P

  • Coming to the U.S. market in 2010 as a Scion model. Very cool.

  • perfect car!!

  • wot a fab wee car i would love one of these, they look great, dont give a shit how environmentaly friendly they are. Cant stand the fat arsed presenter though, he's a rite fanny, i would'nt trust him with anything bigger than an IQ.

  • the seats they used in that model look cool

id love to have 1 for myself :)

  • hope to find an iq used at the end of the year for a good price. This car is tax-less in the Netherlands. You only pay for gas and insurance.

  • I've got one because of this film! :-)

  • get you in trouble with the UN?

what the fuck does the UN do anyway, apart from sitting on their ass!

  • i said to the wife,"come on!don't be daft!i am not going spend my money on a little thingy like this"...15 mins later..after the test drive.instantly,i ordered one for myself.just imagine how much u can save on the petrol...comparing with my old HRV that drinks more than i do.goodbye my luv.

  • and if it drives anything like a peugeot 107 then it is FUN! way more fun than my current mk4 2.0 astra and even if its not as fast it really impressed me how fun it was :D

  • i soo want one of these...maybe one day lol

  • so want one of these cars!!!!!!!!!! i will get one.. one day!

  • Yes, it would be the toyota's ipod. It car reminds me the twingo but, the twingo was so french, so mmhh, delicate. The iq keeps all the yaris' good stuff and added that futuristic flavor, it would be a real succsses

  • Ordered my fully loaded IQ3 in white (of course) with the i style pack. It will be on my drive in 4 weeks time and i cant wait.

  • Okay, who put my Yaris in the dryer???

  • The cleverst design

  • Excellent! Toyota's in the lead once again.....

  • Nifty. I wonder how soon before people start tweaking them for better performance. Should be interesting if it happens. Too bad we're not likely to see that car in the States.

  • I stand corrected. I did a bit of research and it seems like the IQ may be sold in the US as a Scion model with the same 1.5 liter from the Yaris. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

  • I'v ordered one and in 2 days, it's in my underground parking, First thing i'll be doing to give it a bit more kick is changing the tires from 175/65/15 into 175/50/15. It pulls a bit too long on gears giving poor acceleration, but with smaller wheel diameter, will be a bit more nippier. Especially with a K&N air filter and exhaust pipe, just for the sound !

Highering gear pitch will improve acceleration but may hinder speed accuracy.

  • man you'd be better off saving that money "giving it more kick" on your fuel bill or a faster car.,,

  • In fact, i've got two cars already !

The iQ for town running, and the Honda CIVIC latest generation 2,2 turbo for high ways .... and also goes high speed ;-)

The iQ is real fun to have, been a month i have been riding that car but honestly, 55km/h on 1st gear, 105 km/h on 2nd and 140 km/h on 3rd gear is some what really too long ratio.

I guaranty this car to be much more fun to ride if lower tyres equipped !!! Much more nippier on green light start ! ZIPTUNING makes 85 hp with Remap only ;-0

  • Why would you even try to tweak it?

'If its not broken, don't fix it!'.

The car is built and designed for a low user cost, and in the UK the road tax costs nothing. I've just ordered one of these cars, and is surprisingly comfortable and actually quite nippy.

To think of modifying it is an irrelivent thought IMO. Its a car that is cheap to run, and thats what the average user will buy it for... NOT to mod it.

    Stupid American's

  • You stated your opinion intelligently, but then you had to follow it up with a (grammatically incorrect) rude comment. Great way to make friends and impress others.

You make your derogatory comment about stupid Americans tweaking cars, when some of the worlds best modding petrol heads are in the UK. Is this irony or idiocy?

You may want to take a look at some of the insane mods your countrymen have done on the original Mini.

  • Really great! I didn't think that a "real-sized" ma could fit in both the front ad back... But he can!.

I don't car that a normal person can't sit behind the driver, it is still the worlds smallest 3 person car... And it drives a lot better, and more comfortable than a Smart. A simply clever car :D

  • first front-mid engined front wheel drive car. hope it catches on in more sporty models, better weight distribution and all

  • great review, toyota's i pod +1

  • sweet

  • funny and cute designed
