  • Im movin here within a year from nebraska.........fort lewis pays for my school so i hope to enjoy my time.

  • durango is boss!

  • Not a western town. Hippie liberal town.

  • @MrDtown15 That sucks to hear. I'm vacationing there in January. Living in Austin I was hoping to get away from hippie liberals for a bit. Are at least many of the tourist areas down hippy liberal free?

  • @Lavern4101 Not really. Unless you go way out in the country, you're likely to find liberals.

  • @MrDtown15 I dont mind some here and there just dont wanna be crowded with them. Guess we'll jus ignore em.

  • @MrDtown15 Ok so I just got back from my vacation trip to Durango. Eh...Wasnt super impressed. Dont get me wrong, it was ok. Just wasnt as nice as other Colorado towns I have visted like Estes Park and Telluride. I liked staying at The Strater hotel, very cool place. And I loved Guidos italian restaurant (probably some of the best italian food I've ever had). But I definitely wont be coming back. Think I'll check out other towns like Ouray, Colorado Springs, Breckenridge etc.

  • @Lavern4101 Whoops, NOT Colorado Springs. I meant to say Glenwood Springs.

  • When I visited there, everybody kept tellin' me

" it's hard to make a livin' in Durango "

no lie , I worked at the RR parking lot and at the True Value Hardware store

I left when winter approached to the relief of the locals, who dont want

    anybody not born there

  • @jozywails No most of the people here aren't actually from here. I am moving from here very soon, Durango sucks.

  • ok, guess it's like a low-rent version of aspen, but that is place is way too fake for me...

  • love this town!!! but cant wait to get out

  • agreeeeed

  • I used to live here and I moved because everyone was a douche bag, has that changed at all or are there still the fags that live there since 2001

  • what you mean?

  • wow...this town has the greatest vibe ever...you musta been the one that was being the douche...

  • Well if you're making that connection based on a video designed to get tourism then you're a sucker for the media

  • @sledmaster7 Durango has a shitty vibe. Horrible place to live.

  • so do i

  • cool

  • i live in durango

  • godd i fuckin hate tourists sumtimes, but i think if id have met u guys it would have been funny, i live here...and im a total snowboard bum...but i do have my cowboy side, and hate pot smokin hippies

  • im a tourist = ( My only chance to get out of the shitty northeast

  • well, u choose wisely on ur vacation spot =D

  • ..?

  • @mxer525 snowboard bum and hating pot smoking hippies does not work in the same sentence, sorry!

  • @sledmaster7 which is it? does it suck or is it cool?? i was thinking about going to school there.

  • @sledmaster7 Bullshit. There's no direct correlation between someone who snowboards and stupid pot smoking patchouli smelling hippies.

  • SWEET! this is my hometown, and yes, we have all sorts of jobs depending on your skills. But please, if you relocate, don't paint your house PINK please, it's rather annoying. Oh, and your definitely not hippie or cowboy until you've lived here at least 2 years, so don't pretend either, thats super annoying.

  • @ChuckSFP Hippies in general are annoying and stinky.

  • whats kind of jobs?

    ski-dirt-bag, climb-dirt-bag, river-dirt-bag.. pay DOE

  • I would love to re-locate out of California. What kind of jobs are there in Durango? What are some good surrounding cities?

  • I love living here!!!

  • Great video...Thanks for the info...

  • wow...it's been years since I've moved away, but Durango still looks like home...

  • me to

  • ah! i luv jean pierre. i know the guy that runs that place too. i think his name is jean pierre but i don't want to make a complete idiot in front of other durangatangs. i've met him like 3 times. XD keep on baking!

  • durango is my hometown and i luv it here. come here, me and my friends will totally go to rocky m. chocolate factory just for fun! it rocks!

  • I love my home town! And where i live now

  • I haven't read louis l'amour either...

  • I feel for the real residents of the town, not the rich second home buying folk. It seems in the not to distant future, eventually they will all be priced out. It's similar to what happened in the Hampton communities on Long Island. Working class people couldn't afford to live there anymore.

  • Faux-town... its a shame, but hey you can't stop progress...if you want to call it progress.

La Bodega? come on half that crap is mass produced

in asia..(I know cause I delivered loads of boxes to them straight from china)

    Welcome Californians and Texans...

  • Not bad for a fake town..

    Had a great time there

  • @jimbrayfan what was fake about it?

  • Proud to be a Durangatan!

  • What kind of jobs are out there?

  • Me too! w00t! w00t! :)

  • Yep I live here! ;)

  • what kind of jobs out there?

  • Some jobs out here that are pretty unique to the area are:

-jobs at Durango Moutnain Resort as ski instructors, etc.

-jobs at the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad (which is supposedly world famous), either on the train, in the roundhouse, or in sales

-jobs on Main Street in restaurants or local pubs or coffeehouses.

-rafting is huge here, so you could work at a rafting company as a guide, driver, etc.
