If I would have taken this test this is how I would have done it.
1: Contact the Klingons and ask for permision to enter the Neutral Zone.
2: If that failed (knowing Klingons at the time it would have failed)---Well I'd contact the Kobayashi Maru and say "Good Luck to yeah Enterprise out." I'm not risking my crew (or starting a war) just to save a doomed ship anyway. At least my ship and crew would be safe.
I'm a sales manager and use lines from this movie on my reps all the time. The best part is they don't know it. I left a big meeting with one of my newer reps last week and she wasn't sure if we'd get the deal and I said: "I don't believe in the no win scenario."
I am Italian and I apologize I am using a translator. The film by Abrams mentioned the apple out of turn . If a cadet enters into room simulations with the apple in his hand, in Starfleet is driven in 8 seconds. But Abrams believes that Starfleet is a course of Boy Scouts!
I always wondered why the neutral zone in this scene was pictured as a contained capsule that you could go around instead of a light-years long boundary that had to be crossed. The neutral zone is an obvious reference to a DMZ.
I really love the last 20 seconds of this clip :)

Shatner had a hard diet before the first Star Trek movie.

@nytrox84
What's big bang theory (other than the theory that the universe came into being in an instant)?

@rennieallen It's the name of a television show. It's pretty funny but you kind of have to be a nerd to get some of the jokes. haha

Star Trek 2 is the best movie in the world. Honestly. And the end just rips your heart from your chest. *starts sniffling just by thinking about it*

WTF happened to Kirstie Alley? (Yes, that was a rhetorical question.) She was SO good in her role as Saavik.

@MassCityGent They tried to stiff her (contract) and she said no, so they got a "no-name" to replace her.

I loved the expression on Saavik's face when Kirk hails Spock who then tells the away team they're ready to beam out. LOL

Kirk such a smart ass...but we love him anyways. ;-)

You should have included Kirk's intro. The coolest intro of any captain in any movie or tv show.

hey, you cut up the dialogue! the flow is much better in the original.
"...who ever beat the no-win scenario."
"How?"
"I reprogrammed the simulation so it was possible to rescue the ship."
"WHAT!?"
"He cheated!"
"I changed the conditions of the test. I got a commendation for original thinking... I don't like to lose."

Did you make an account from Kobayashi-maru of Star Trek? Or is it genuine Kobayashi?
NaruyoJapan 4 years ago
From star trek. Zenhill was asking me about my channel name, and I got the idea to make a little video about it.
Its really just coincidence that I've taken a resent intrest in japanese culture and the ship name in the training scenario is japanese.
Star Trek 2 has always been one of my favorite movies. I just like how Captian kirk handled tough situations. I try to apply it in my life.
No matter how bad things look theres always a way out!
