That Is the way I used start My Motorcycle tie a rope behind a Car It works just fine until the rope gets tangled up In the front wheel and I go flying over the handle bars back In the early 70's Dirt Bikes had 80 Horse power.
F**king brilliant, the mans a genius, peg to peg stand on it and release if theres a problem. keep it short so less slack to go under your front wheeI.
I have never seen this one before but I will certainly remember it ;-)))
I love everything about off road riding. Even when these bits happen like it did to me two weeks ago. Your way is very interesting but quite spooky, it seems! Aloha!
haha, that looks scary! I've only seen 1 other way before, which was when Charlie Boorman got towed on dirt bikes in his "By Any Means" series. His tow line was routed between the forks (under headlight) then up to handlebars and wrapped round once and he held with hand. if he got into trouble he was to just let go of it.
reminds me of last weekend my friends bike quit and we had to pull and push it out by hand threw deep mud long hills. about 30km in the trail. Then the damn thing starts when i roll it down a dry hill.
good idea. i once got towed on a dirtbike when i was back in highschool. the front bike had the rope tied round the subframe, and the rear bike had the rope tied round the handlebars. was okay until the rope slipped to one side, which pulled on the left hand side more, making it want to turn right. combine trying to keep the bike in a straight line, whilst trying not to fall off, and bump starting it at the same time = hilarity!
hehe that looked very interesting to do. Rather you than me mate!
Was nice to see the village again. Just shown it to my dad this and kept pointing out "thats where we chilled for the first night", and "up there and turn right and you get to THE BIG CHOP OF BEEF" haha, we still on for next year?! ;-P
I'm kind of surprised you two didn't get pulled over by the police. Also surprised that the tow strap didn't come off and get wrapped up around the wheel. With my luck if i was doing this. Both of these things would happen.
@pulse0000 don't think i saw a copper all the time we were there, we were travelling at low speed so would have stopped fairly easily if anything had happened with the strap

Use bungie cords. Easy to store on the frame of the bike. Best of all when they snap or come off there is a good chance someone will get hurt,
