  • I like the choir for the scene transitions at 2:53 and at 7:03. Makes it so...dramatic.

  • raaat :(

  • at 2:53 is that freaky Fred's wife?

  • im the only one who feels sad the first time saw this episode?

  • Last time i checked Eustace,i am preety sure the newspaper doesn't run at night.oh,well i still adore this show!

  • i was scared of this episode when i was younger when courage came on friday nights on cartoon network

  • Everything about this episode is phenominal, the music, the animation, the themes. Everything.

  • MUSIC THAT START AT 18:59 PLEASE UPLOAD PLEASE???

  • Žalost means sadness in most of the Slavic languages.

  • dr. Žalost

  • Eh? Wha-!!! LOUSY TEENAGERS!!!

He must be imune to emotions! Hit the round woman!

    Can't stop laughing!

  • i'm a melanholic fuck because of this episode...

  • these courage episodes sometimes give you hints on how fucked up the world is specially this one

  • oh Eustace....you and your mallet

  • do you have a download link of that episode?

  • haha LOL courage would you stop running around your rocking the house :P

  • 11:30 I never this should make any sense, but you can actually understand what courage is trying to say! The objects he changes to are eye>bee>leaf>eye>can>?sticks?>?plate?>finger

I'm not sure about the sticks/bamboo and the plate/roundness, but the phrase should be something like "I believe I can stick around there" as in look around.

    I never noticed this!!!

  • Wow i just found this epizode interesting, cuz zalost (in fact its written as žalost) means sadness in my language (slovene).

  • lol how he gonna tellhim to solve it then get mad when he says the word.

  • It's funny when he says his name in 14:36 cuz it sounds exactly like the word "pity" in Russian. I just noticed that xD

  • This episode should've been developed into a movie.

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS!!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE CARTOONS!! IT'S SCARY BUT I LOVE IT!<3

it used to bring me nightmares as a child :p but i continued watching it anyway xp

  • 18:42 oh my god hahahaha

  • Haha happy plumz lewk pretty gewd :) mmmn

  • "He must be immune to emotions, hit the round woman!" lol this part always cracked me up.

  • i can honestly say that by watching this, my childhood had meaning... such deep messages behind these programms..

  • Does anyone else really want to try some happy plums now?

  • 14:50 - 16:50, I really had no idea what it could be, I've never seen this episode, at least not that I can remember, and I thought "It's 'Food! Wood! Woof! Noob!'"

And then... 16:51, "BOOM?" I COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING! I just kept on going, "It's BOOM! Of course, it's 'Boom!' BOOM!" xDD

I don't think I've EVER had my heart race so fast, and then in a single second, explode with laughter!!! XDD!!!

    GENIUS writing!! xDDD

  • Ever since like 2008 my dad got rid of all the channels that showed cartoons on dish. But im actually glad he did because today there's nothing but garbage on TV. Kids now a days are growing up with crap. They don't know what a good show is.

  • @omnimon64 yeah man...i have no idea why shows like this where practically exterminated...i mean they r so awesome

  • @omnimon64 That is so true.

  • It makes me feel evil

  • the music starting at 18:59 where can i get it

  • The Music work in this episode is really great!

I don't know why they destroyed Cartoon Network with these shows for stupid superhero-kids like Ben Ten. This is really depressing

  • @kaligon Music freaks me out!! "in a good way" and yeah, Also disney channel, I don't remember "Hanna Montana" or whatever the hell it is on Disney channel.... It used to be donald duck and mickey mouse, now its all ruined by all teen actors. :(

  • Omg zalost means sadness on Macedonian :D

  • makes me proud to know these are the cartoons I grew up with :)

  • @murphyman777

    Same here man

  • Does anyone else believe that this episode hails deeply from the inspiration of "the lady of shallot"? In which a cursed woman is to forever remain in a tower, seeing the world only as the reflection of a shadow?

    ...

Definitely one of courage's most epic episodes!! :D

  • i think dr zalost looks like a green dr.cortex

  • uhh i remember rushing when Courage was on or any cartoons shows like Johnny Bravo, CHicken and Cow, Ed Edd Eddie, Scooby Doo and even powerpuff girls what happen to these good shows?

  • best cartoon ever :')

  • In Croatian, Dr. Zalost means - Dr. Sorrow.!

  • That piano part at the end gives me goosebumps O:

  • so basically he's shooting everyone and giving them crippling depression...me gusta.

  • this episode is really nice for alot of reasons but i do have to say baby rat was adorable.

  • best courage episode.

  • raaat, come here raaat, give me a hug

  • Zalost*

  • is there anywhere to find the music at the end with the piano over the Zaolst theme?

  • IM GETTIN ME MALLET!!! xDDD

  • 8:14 lol GODZILLA

  • 2 people were born in 21th century

  • stupid dog

  • 2 people are small children and should get off the internet for having never watched Courage the Cowardly Dog.

  • Comment removed

  • @SalamiSlim: He's always a genuine coward in every episode. Near the end is always when he gets brave, and even then, he's easy to scare. It's an endless loop really.

  • 2 people are not happy.

  • Where can i find the mp3 for this song? The link you hae added isnt working

  • I have come to realize.. That Courage's life would be so much less scary if he would just buy a gun. And the episodes would be shorter too.

  • This episode was soooo deep for a kid's show! Wow

  • Plums+Vinegar+Sour Cream= Happy Plums..gross...

  • Now we can go back to bed and hug...

    Rat: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.... hahahahha

  • Imagine if Danny Elfman, James Horner, or Marco Beltrami were to compose this score.

  • This show should have been called Courage the Brave Dog. He's seldom been a coward.

  • 1 person is unhappy and didn't get a hug from Rat.

  • Rat, give me a hug...

  • lol no wonder the cannonballs dont affect Eustace...He's always unhappy

  • This has to be the best episode of courage the cowardly dog ever.

  • this music would sound awesome for a boss battle in rpg games~

  • I think in a way, this relates to hitler. hah

  • this entire episode is a massive metaphor for overcoming depression

  • @SASardonic What do you mean by that? I watched the second half of the episode with your comment in mind and saw the destruction of the tower and Dr. Zalost's response (Dr. Sorrow!) as how people try to hold on to their depression and sadness like an old blanket. Powerful scene.

Regardless of interpretation, this is a great episode with great music. Courage is such a lovely dog. "Rat, give me a hug..." <3

  • lmao courage and the sour cream that is so my logic

  • Boom? You cheated!

Dilworth is a master artist. this show needs to come back on CN and all seaons need to come out for DVD release not just season 1 and in a miracle land the show could return.... Signed the petition, bought season 1 hallf of fame on amazon. DILWORTH DILWORTH!

  • i watch hi and samurai jack on cartoon network every time i see them, here in serbia they returnde smo of the older cartoons

  • I Love The Music Throughout The Whole Episode !

  • suuuuuure...plums...

  • Did you know that "Zalost" or Žalost means sad in my language.

  • @ManOfWaffles What language would that happen to be?

  • @Xanthur34 It is in Slovenian, but I belive it also means the same in some other "Slovanski" language, like Russian, as the character of Dr. Zalost is clearly meant to be Russian.

  • Can anyone work out the charades at 11:33? I get "I believe i can" but what do the last 3 things courage transforms into mean?

  • @L0stC1ty "I believe I can read Plato"

  • does the begining of this episode remind anyone else of final fantasy

  • Comment removed

  • Aww tht rat is soo damn cute!!!

  • If I were a villain in a movie, I'd most definitely want Zalost's theme music

  • 18:57 The song just got me. It hit home as soon as that song came on and I've been looking for that version for a long ass time.

  • @FoxcoonDen I know ;_;

  • @FoxcoonDen Yeah, the music in this episode is so incredible..

I find the part where he laughs right before throwing the canon ball matches the music so perfectly, this episode is a master piece, the whole show is.

  • Okay I did the same thing as Courage and Muriel when Dr. Zalost looked under the table! Still find this show creepy as hell xD

  • I am 13 but I catch this cartoons.I don't want to see Hannah Montana or something else.I miss Courage th ecowardly dog,Samurai Jack,Dexter's laboratory, even the PowerPuff Girls...I want to see this cartoons on Tv,I want kids in these days to see them...:(

  • HEY SNOWFLAKES! :D

  • One person got hit by the unhappy cannonball.

  • my english vocabulary is not that good, what dous he said at 11:32? I just understand "I belive I can ____ (plate finger?)"

  • @vicbaez

It's "I believe I can read plate toe."

It's a reference to the book, "My Dog Can Read Plato."

  • "Fools. I'll show them." One day hopefully...

  • "ohhhhhhhhhh This Is SO Embaressssssing hehe" LOL

  • best music ever heard for a cartoon

  • Lol cannonball hits Eustace (no effect) He must be immune to emotions :D

  • anyone notice when he gets back home from lookin for his paper that they're watching one of the old godzilla movies? lol

  • One person didn't get any happy plums

  • 20:19 awwww how cute :)

  • motherfucking goose bumps

  • with the music that starts at 19:00 its so epic...so deep it gives me chills---the piano is great addition to the song

  • It's just the music that gets people so intensely into this episode so it will be open for criticizing. Is it the best Courage episode? It's definitely worthy of being nominated for the top 10 list because there's more than just the music to it. I'd hate to sound like a narrator or Mr. Obvious but this is a psychological exploration of depression, intelligence, & madness falling into the wrong hands. A sad man taking his pain out on others for a quick smile. Courage's scream is insane at 8:48

  • @xbluemystx8686 whatever professor, this episode rocks

  • @xbluemystx8686 Gee and here I was thinking it was about a sad mad scientist who makes everyone else sad until courage saves the day.

  • If I had to pick one Courage episode to take to a desert island (I've seen and own all of them, mind you), it'd most likely be this one.

    John R. Dilworth's masterpiece.

  • the darkest episode of courage the cowardly dog ever, it makes your spine tingle in awe of how deep it is

  • @speedyspeeds And yet it has one of the happiest endings.

  • Thank you for uploading the entire episode to Youtube. I needed this. =D
