  • yes but bob always looks toward his left.

  • @pnfl07 that what I did when I took the video...not sure what you are saying?

  • @DBradshaw25 I'm saying when Bob comes through the big doors, he always

look more to the left, which would be our right.

  • @pnfl07 Well, I walked the exact line he used to across the stage and looked directly where the camera would be sitting - soooooo.....that's that.

  • It looks nice to see this rare video of the Price is Right set without a screaming audience in it! It seems relaxing when you see it like this.

  • To see a hand built model of Studio 33 at CBS, google "Price is right ontheset" and hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button.

  • on the outside they look nice... in there? not so much

  • Place looks pretty spooky when it's lit like that (work lights I presume?)

  • Read ALL the posts above...I've explained it previously a few times :-)

  • I didn't know those were so noisy.

  • i guest u never hear them because the place is so loud all the time.

  • that room looks alot bigger on tv

  • Did you have special permission to tape this? When my mother visited a taping of TPIR a few years back you weren't allowed to bring cameras into the studio.

  • Yes, I was a guest of the producers at the time.

  • BeijingOlympics, how many times do I have to tell you, Bob IS NOT DEAD!!!

  • five stars.

  • That stage looks so small from Bob's (now Drew's) point of view. It looks huge on TV.

  • Aye!

  • AYE!!!

  • I always wondered what Bob saw. I wish I would have known about this during his life time. But better late than never! RIP, Bob!

  • RIP? Bob's not dead!

  • Bob's not dead Beij.

    Long live the king!!

  • Yes, it's a rope of sorts. It was operated by a pulley system. I'm assuming the new set operates the same way.

  • Incidentally, Studio 33 is the same stage of the Jack Benny Show, Red Skelton, Carol Burnett, Sonny & Cher, Ray Combs Family Feud, Hollywood Squares with Bergeron, and numerous others.

  • Yes, I believe I took it in 2005. It was season 34.

  • How The Price is Right staff tear down Bob Barker's set?

  • I'm not sure what your question is. Do you mean get rid of it for the Drew Carey set? They actually auctioned the set off on a website called Charity Folks.

  • The doors on Drew's version are completely different doors.

  • Same place Real Time with Bill Maher is shot, also.

  • I knew this looked very small for the Price is Right set, and after reading all the comments, yeah, this is small.

The doors seemed so quiet on TV, but they're pretty noisy. Do they work automatically at the touch of a button, or do stage hands have to pull/push them on the inside of the doors or turn a crank or something? The floor looks real dirty, too, but I guess that's because the lights aren't turned on as brightly as they are during the show.

  • The doors are operated by a pulley system.

  • It's small but the TPIR set kicks ass.

  • Wow, that's tiny.

  • Wow, that set does look bigger on the tube! Amazing, also, those doors are rather noisy! Have they always been that way?

  • Pretty much.

  • DAMN! I was there for the March 22nd taping; now I wish that they had some music goin' on! :-D

  • I went down to a taping of "The Price is Right" on April 3, and I also agree that the studio is a lot smaller than how it looks on TV.

  • ya i have been on the show (in the audience i didnt get picked) so i know the whole routine to get i the show. Yes the Studio is very small! the stage is WAY small too, they just shuffle the different games around when its time.

  • that's...awesome. what a small studio.

  • wow

  • It looks a lot bigger on TV.

  • that's what i was about to say.

but i think that's always true. leno's studio seems a lottt bigger on tv (i was there in person).

  • So true. I have been to the show and it's a really small studio.
