  • Awesome. Wonderful Ray Bradbury! So underestimated.

  • Gosh I love this guy! He's my favorite writer...even though I've never been a science fiction fan. His words, they're just....I don't even know. He has a gift. That's all.

  • Farenheit 451 gets a lion's share of the literary attention, but I think 'Something Wicked' is really his best book. It's the perfect October book ... no writer I can think of has evoked that season so poetically or memorably. The movie isn't, as Ray said, perfect, but it's still a keeper.

  • SWTWC is marvellous! My personal favourite is THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES.

  • happy birthday mr bradbury...

  • I wonder if the D.G.A. ever gave him an honorary membership.

  • I think his stuff translated well onto the screen! I loved Something Wicked when it came out. Some of the best writing, unbelievable casting, incredible music, and wonderful acting I've ever seen in that movie!

  • I love Ray Bradbury books. In my A.I.G. class, we read Fahrenheit 451 but I read more than just that. I love Something Wicked This Way Comes & F451 more than ever. I see how F451's connected to our lives now and I believe him. We are always connected to our parlor walls everyday because that's common in this generation (which I've learned is the "I" Generation because of everything made and marked by it (IPod, iPhone, IPad,etc..))

I wish he could write a new book because he is a genius writer.

  • @citychick11895

He still writes! New stuff coming out all the time!

  • I am a lover of Bradbury...My students and I are reading "Something Wicked This Way Comes".....He is the most moving writer ....the imagery he uses to paint the most alive images, vibrant, and almost touchable, tastable, feelable is awe inspiring...He is an artist of words...his legacy : immortality of dreams painted in the pages of his stories, dancing in the memories of children, haunting those in the winter of life.....

  • Absolutely teacher! "SWTWC" is the longest dark poem I've ever read! His words and imagery dance off the page into your soul and stay there. His metaphors are music in the air. I'm currently just finishing "Zen in the Art of Writing". I will presume you have read this wonderful volume?

  • I agree with you. He is a very unique & moving writer and no one can be a better description of it.

  • Bluesnaggs! Do I know you? I know Ray very well, and know some of his friends.

  • I just visited Ray Bradbury at his home! He and I had a wonderful time, and he gave me two books! I've known him for 11 years.

  • This man made by childhood and adolescence livable. We love you, Ray.

  • It's the longest dark poem you''ll ever read - wonderful!

  • Just picked up an old copy of this book, can't wait to start it around the beginning of fall.

  • Bradbury wrote some of the best scifi fantasy EVER.

  • Is he still alive?

  • Yes, of course Papa Ray is still alive!

  • Ray Bradbury will be 89 years old on Saturday, August 22, 2009.
