Well I knew about the original, in my opinion it's this version!!!!!! I love, Love, LOVE this song and been having a hard time trying to get it n donno why????? Say if a guy sang "material girl" it'd be weird & come across as gay. He'd have to change it to "material boy" (which still sounds weird) for it to be acceptable but the original one would be madonna's. The only original version belongs to the musical "the fiddler on the roof" cos when they made this version they had to pay them royalties.
