There are always detractors. Music changes and evolves; country is no exception. Whether we like it or not, times change as do the tastes of latter generations. Compare this to modern country (Past 10-15 years): to me, this latest batch (Taylor Swift, Yearwood, etc) sounds like pop crap but it's obviously popular.10-20 years from now, it'll be seen as outdated as music (country included) updates itself. That being said, country in the last 50 years (sans the past 10) IS country to me at least.
