Hey, guys, I know a better story!! This is a story I made up. It's probably one of the shortest stories ever. It actually has a beginning, a plot, a climax, and an ending!! LOL. It's 17 words.
The world's shortest story by Preston D.
Once upon a time
There once lived a cow
He said "Moo" and then he died
THE END
Or you could have a story that starts as
"Once upon a time....the end" but that doesn't
have a plot (cow said moo) or a climax (cow dies), so that don't work :-) Hahahaha
Does anyone have the Early Version of the skit where Ernie writes an Alphabet Story? If someone does, please be sure to upload it for me and everyone else.
I prefer the original, the one I grew up with and remember the best! This remake came a few years after I pretty much stopped watching Sesame Street (for the most part!).
Since the "old school" Ernie & Bert muppet technology wasn't as sophisticated, Henson & Oz really put a greater deal of effort into the characters' body language and vocal work (it "painted the picture," if you will), more so than in the remake.
Great find, Marshal! I never saw that version of the sketch. I only saw a photo on Muppet Wiki. Be sure to make it a video response to this whenever you upload it. Don't worry, I won't bug you about it this time ;)
BTW, I apologize about your previously spammed comment.
Memorable indeed, my friend. To me, this sketch embodies the show so much: It's a brilliant and perfectly funny sketch that teaches children the alphabet (that is except the last letter of course LOL)
I just watched a video of the original sketch. I can't believe Ernie left Bert just hanging there a second time! ^_^

This version is just as good as the original from 1969.

It's uploaded by MarshelGrover. The only difference about this one is that Bert is more optimistic.

I actually like the remake better! you can tell their comedic chemistry had really been developed by this point!

The best story ever written *and* the greatest story ever told (by Ernie).
