There should also be one on Chet Walker and Bob Love. Great guys on very good Bulls team just unlucky not to have enough depth or an Unseld/Cowens to win it all.
Norm was a great player. I watched every game I could of the Bulls on TV. Back then there wasn't many nationally televised games, but I catched every Bull game I could and it was a pleasure to see Van Lier and Sloan play together. Tough team.
that norm van lier was some player in the early 70,s he just killed the pistons in the playoff.the 1973-74 pistons team were outstanding.yet they could not beat the bull in the playoffs--BECAUSE-- OF ONE MAN NORM VAN LIER.I LIVE IN DETORIT THEN AN WENT TO A LOT.S OF PISTONS GAMES AT COBO.
Actually, the Jazz have become much more of an offensive team in recent years. Back in 1988-89, they were ranked #1 in defense (points allowed). Last year, they were 18th (out of 30 team). This year, they are ranked 13th. Offensively, this year, they are ranked #1 (113.1 points per game). Of course, they are not a run-and-gun team. They have a very disciplined offense, running alot of set plays, and that is to the credit of Sloan.

Stormin Norman...My MAIN MAN.
And Sloan...all elbows and elbow grease and just as gritty as a head coach...the longest tenured of all coaches in any major sport right now.
These two guys were/are salt of the earth. They got every last iota of their talent and laid it on the floor every night.

70s Bulls...
My favorite sports team ever.
Went to 7 games with Rick Barry's GS Warriors - just came up short.
But our heart was the best.
Love those Bulls
J. Sloan, Norm Van Lear, Chet Walker, Bob Love Tom Bolwinkle
We just could have used one guy that could dunk

Sloan...A good player and good coach!
When he was a player,he was good at defense.
Even as a coach of JAZZ,he still emphasizes the importance of defense!
