her actions are actually fully consistent. in bamboo leaf rhapsody and disappearance of haruhi suzumiya, it's implied her future self might actually be controlling a number of the events in the story, more or less basically allowing it to continue. also, this wasn't in the anime, but if i remember right, she saved a kid, and per the orders of her superiors, gave him a few ideas so that the kid will grow up to invent time travel. smh.
