I truly believe that gay people should be allowed to live their lives happily, however, when it comes to marriage, there are going to be strong strong cases that fight for polygamy and I think that, if all states allow it, in 50 years, polygamy will be legal. Funny you mention that. 30 or 40 years ago, when western society was more religious, there were much lower divorce rates. As soon as society became more "enlightened" and moved away from religion, divorce rates soared.

I'm glad that you not only showed those who were against gay marriage and those who were for it, because I a lot of people assume we're all "behind the times", but it couldn't be farther from the truth. Atlanta is pretty much a northern city stuck in the south, and there are so many gay couples and gay supporters. But sadly, the overwhelming GA population will probably not come around to gay marriage for a very long time.

For the record, I'm not a religious extremist. What they do in Iran is extreme and I don't condone it. I think only a small minority do, ie, fanatic muslims.

People can believe what ever they want to believe but gay marriages do not affect your marriage. Some people need to get over it. Marriage is about love, that's it. Divorce is what ruins the idea of marriage

@MrDominex I take offense to that. I'm straight, have faith in God, and I've lived in Georgia my entire life. And personally, I think it's ridiculous for anyone to be excluded from rights, such as marriage. I'm all for gay marriage, thanks. If they make a poll here for it, I'm voting a big fat YES.

You fight for gay marriage to be legalized because you claim that you're tired of being oppressed and you should have the same rights as heterosexuals but yet you're basically oppressing Mormons because you just implied that polygamy is wrong by saying that gay marriage would not lead to legalized polygamy. If you were a completely open-minded and tolerant individual you would have said that they should legalize polygamy because it would enforce religious freedom.

Just because something feels good to you doesn`t mean that it`s right. God said that homosexuality is wrong, so why can`t gays understand this. I find it very hard to believe that a gay man cannot enjoy the company of a beautiful women, or would rather be with a man if given the choice.

@craigblast Ah, well I have more of a circumstantial view on whether or not lying is wrong, but generally, deceiving someone doesn't make me feel good, it makes me feel unclean. Since we have gay men who are perfectly aware of all the single women out there but still remain with men, I don't see why you find it hard to believe. But back to lying. Maybe you feel a bit of a cheap thrill at getting away with something, but when you're gay, things are just more difficult for you. There's no upside.

@craigblast Well, bisexuals can still fulfill your god's "purpose". However, it's not like humans are the only creatures with non-heteros in their population. Run a search on bonobos if you want to learn about another one. But getting back to lying vs. homosexuality: from what you've said, lying makes you feel good if you get away with it. With homosexuality, I can't imagine what "thrill" there is to cancel out being a member of a group that is treated as badly as gays are.

Animals don`t have the right to reproduce or have casual sex, if they did then the earth would be over populated with them. During mating season for creatures most will have to fight for this right, somtimes the loser still in HEAT may seek affection wherever, this is why your dog humps your leg, it wishes you were another female dog.

@craigblast I was speaking in context of the purpose of sex (to reproduce). Bi's can fulfill that part no problem. Lolwut? Plenty of animals have "casual sex". It has nothing to do with rights and everything to do with overgrazing and overeating. Did you take a look at bonobos yet? They have LOTS of casual sex. They're not gay (well, most of them aren't, at least), but nearly all of them are bi.

Their sexuality is an innate, inherent component of their being. Arguing with His decision will get you nowhere. As for the animal kingdom, there are hundreds of species of animals that engage in same-sex behavior & bonding, so homosexuality is completely natural in both the animal & human kingdoms. The devil creates homophobia, God creates love.

CB, I'll happy to educate you again. Opinions vary from person to person, but facts are facts. You are completely, 100% wrong in your assessment of the homosexuality in nature situation. I invite you to do some research on the subjects you wish to discuss; it would help you tremendously, being able forgo arguments that you cannot win on merit. As for God, He is the one who creates gays in the first place; it's only unenlightened, confused men who misinterpret the Bible who think it's a "sin".
