It works in the correct doses. I think when it becomes spamming people its ineffective.

The contention that "social media" has taken away from actual social interaction is a "myth." Studies have shown just the opposite is true. Young people "meet" even more people through social media, and then actually meet more people.

Can the internet, and social media be used for evil? Every means of communication can be used for good and evil. Our Lord and Savior was sacrificed for us long before the internet.

There will always be good and evil around us. It is for each of us to turn to our Lord and Savior in all circumstances for divine help. It is my confession that you can not do it on your own. I tried and failed. I now pray for forgiveness, Amen.

I just had an example of social media working for the good.

I went all the way through Elementary, Junior High (Middle), and Senior High school with a girl. We were in the same grade, but by chance, never had a class together. She didn't live within a few blocks from me, didn't go to the same church, and didn't have the same interests and friends.

She knew me by name because I had been Co-Captain of the football team. We didn't "meet" until this year on facebook. That is a good thing.

HELPING HELPING HELPING!!! :-) I hope I made my self understood. Back in the day, as a young boy, the only people I knew outside my family lived within a few blocks from me. Our schools were neighborhood schools, kids in another classroom were strangers.

The internet, and social media in particular, has opened the "world" to each of us. This video is a perfect example of it. Most of us would never have known Tim existed, much less been able to communicate with him.

The internet IS a blessing.
