Just restore your ipod to a newer version. for example download a new firmware and then put your ipod to dfu mode. then on your pc, go to itunes and it will tell you, your ipod is in dfu mode. just hold shift and click on restore, restore it to the new version u downloaded. it will start working again

@newagebarbarian52 if you update the firmware, yes you will lose anything that is not backed up. if you keep your firmware, but only jailbreak, you will not lose anything unless you use sn0wbreeze, which i dont reccomend.

For ipods getting stuck at uploading ramdisk, you should make the compatibility to windows xp sp 3, and people having white cydia should open up redsn0w and use boot to tethered now.

Its probably bricked... too much data i the ipod or something, you will have to restore it on itunes by holding the power and the home button for a min or so.
