@BonnardsBluesBand i figured as much, i just like crackin' jokes, mate. i haven't heard about the midi controlling functionality for this pedal, but i do know it sounds absolutely KILLER for that reverb/delay/swirly leslie effect that just goes on for DAYS. wasn't much of a fan of that sound overall until i got into Devin Townsend. he went from racks and racks of outboard delays and reverbs to just two time factors. for a guy who is ALL about his delays, that says something about the time factor

this pedal sounds real authentic, i use the tape delay alot since i like 'analog' type sounds. okay so its digital but it sounds real analogue if you want it to. i have a gibson sg and laney vh100r and value are 'real' signal. try it out, it wont disappoint if you know what you are doing. rtfm.

any pedal can break down. My DL4 did and it took a reeeally long time to get it back(months). Then it worked for less than 5 minutes(at home luckily) and at that point the retailer stepped up and just replaced it for me.

The looper function on the DL4 sounded different from other functions(not in a good way). The presets were fun, it just wasnt reliable enough for me......btw, any idea why people bringing tom cruise into this?

@lilnetty2 Thanks for your answer. I don't know sometimes it's just bad luck or something, almost any band I know that use delay quite extensively have a DL4 on their pedalboard so I don't know. I did buy a used DL4 a few days after posting my question, I guess I'll see, the Time Factor was just too expensive for me anyway.

@theShowStopper321 If you don't mind me chiming in, the filter is basically a tone knob for your repeats. Higher settings makes the repeats sound brighter...

@theShowStopper321 To actually add further, the filter knob for the first few delay types acts as a tone knob for your repeats. For some of the other presets, it does different things. For example, if I'm not mistaken in the band delay mode, it selects between the different types of filters...

Unfortunately these units are buggy ... try this ... bank mode ... hit bank 1:1 .... use the encoder know and go through all the effects. Sounds OK ... right? Now go back to bank 1:1. Put it into bypass. Now use the encoder again ... OK until it hits looper. Then all the effects die until you reset back to bank 1:1. Now try bank 10:1 ... try encoder again to go through effects .... sounds different? This is with the latest version 2.4. Eventide refuses to acknowledge the problem.

You probably mean the oscillation effect. I don't have an expression pedal with my TimeFactor yet, but I presume it can do something like it, though not completely. But trust me, don't get the RE-20 JUST for that function, you'll get tired of it after a while anyway.

Cool, thanks man. I already bought a dd-20 though, mainly because of the self oscillation thing, where you can hold the button and it will oscillate. It's very important to me. The eventide looks amazing though, If I save up that's definitely the first pedal on my list.

If you upgraded the software, you can set the feedback delay to 110%, so it will self oscilate. Also, if I'm not mistaken, in play mode, engaging the middle button causes the delay to self oscilate if you choose to...

You could do that by clicking on the middle footswitch in play mode, which repeats the delay indefinitely. Then you can choose adjust the feedback level on the pedal. The latest software update allows you to adjust the feedback to 110%, which allows you to let the pedal self oscillate...
