A conventional DCMT or VBMT insert also ONLY has two usable cutting edges. This concept is ONLY for screw clamped inserts. So in effect you are npot LOSING any cutting edges. The clamping of insert is vastly improved due to rails that lock insert to holder tip seat preventing insert movement...

The only problem with this is that there are only two usable sides for each insert.
