  • please help me: I can't combine it with a movie or a picture. There's always a black background

  • @MsNomerci you must be a distant relative =D are you setting this up as snow then rendering then bringing it back in to AE? if this is your workflow make sure to render out as animation rgb+rgba.. if this isn't your issue then maybe you can email me your file and I can take a look. say hihi to MrNomerci for me!

  • @gnomercyy Right...almost the same name :D ...Thanks for your fast response. I already found out how to do it (I am a beginner in AE).

  • Thank you so much for posting this tutorial! its exactly what I need, however the song in the background is seriously annoying, next time just have silence and your voice, its not bad at all.

  • i've been looking for a tutorial like this for 6 months!! i'm SO glad you made this! it's exactly what i was needing!!

  • @spikesofgrace lol, Glad it is still useful =)

  • Phew! I finally found one! I spend 2 hours looking for a snow tutorial that dosn't invovle PP hehe XD

THANK YOUUUUUUUU now i can acturally continue working on my piece :p

  • Hey Man

Can I have your e-mail, got a question for you.

    Thanks

  • hey thanks for the cool idea! i'll put this to use in the video i'm putting together for my grandparents of this year's Christmas!

  • Could you tell me how i can combine it with my movie?

  • You should be albe to combine with your movie as is, this is all done as an alpha channel, it only shows as a black background because there is nothing behind it, black = default

  • So, should i make a complete movie in my video editor, and then when it is converted to an avi file, convert it into AE to put snow under it?

BTW, I use MAGIX videodeluxe 2006

TY for responding and your help!

  • your raw avi file should be able ti be imported to AE without converting it to anything else, but yeah, that's the basic idea, just put your snow layers on top of your movie layer.

  • So, i first edit my movie with sound etc etc. And then i import that edited file into AE. Then I throw the snow over it, and export is as a whole.

Or do you mean with raw avi, the unedited file?

  • Yup, adding your sound before ae is a good idea, ae is not the best for sound, I guess you could do it either way though.

  • Ok, thank you for all your help, the movie (with snow ;-) will be on Youtube somewhere next week if I get it right :)

  • Thanks man, I've been meaning to learn some things on After Effects for a while, but looks so daunting. You made me laugh too. You seem to know alot, you do this as a profession?

  • more of a hobby right now, but I would like to lol

  • thank youuuuuuuuuuu xx

  • You made my day! Thanks a million!!!!

  • ''my comp cant handle this'' lmao :D

  • might wanna move your producer point a lil higher than mine lol, just noticing the top of the intro is a lil... strange O.o

  • hehe thanks, and the background is set 17 db below my voice... the chipmunks are rather loud.. best I could do..and i just HAD to have them in there...... had to.... 8)

  • what is a chipmunk? :-)

  • they were popular cartoon characters in the 80s.

  • love them, but noisy...lol

  • Nice tip mate, but more like a balls of doom tutorial anyway: a super tut for the coming winterdays. 5*

BTW keep background sounds way under your voice plees.
