this video is okay but if your going to talk about chord progression then you need to talk about it more in numbers ex: c,e,g is a C major chord and also C is the first tone or note in a major scale.if he move to any G chord which is the fifth tone in the major scale this would be call a 1,5 chord progression because you went from the first to the fifth tone or note. i'm not sure what key the first song in but if it were in C major (which i think it is ) the chord progression would be 1,6,4,5 .
cant wait for your next video this will surely help me alot in learning piano XD i feel like i have three teachers right now hahah my private tutor the one at my school and you.... and pianocian... so four XD
OK so thanks to your awesome vids I can play the melody of a song and the left hand chords to go with it. Will there be a tutorial on developing the inner voices? I have the worst time figuring out a harmony part to go with my right hand melody. Is there a special technique? Lol
HEART AND SOUL! I just learned the left hand part from you, thanks! LOL. I could lay the upper part but I could never find the music for the lower half. Haha. Thanks to your example riff, I now know it. Haha.
I just wanted to say thank you for putting up all these videos. I'm a former violinist who now focuses entirely on the double bass and I have no background of piano whatsoever, but these videos are great for anyone who wants to learn to improvise or even compose. ^.^ And I'm even trying to apply these concepts to my own playing, though more for jazz than anything else.
1. Your reading my comment 2. Now your saying/thinking thats a stupid fact. 4. You didnt notice that i skipped 3. 5. Your checking it now. 6. Your smiling. 7. Your still reading my comment. 8. You know all you have read is true. 10. You didnt notice that i skipped 9. 11. Your checking it now. 12. You didnt notice there are only 10 facts Copy and paste to 1 video, tomorrow will be your best day ever! no matter what
From my experience (which is not a lot <_<;) I've noticed that they usually depress and repress the pedal when you start playing a new chord. See if that helps make it sound a little less chaotic. :D

Did this video teach me how to make my own progressions? I really think it should be titled how to vary chord progressions since we are still left wondering how one pulls these sequences out of ones ass. But at least it's a start. I guess Will doesn't want to confuse everyone
The improv that everyone will be doing next lesson will be a C A F G (like the intro/exit song). Later, I will discuss other chord progressions and hopefully people can explore more.
What is the name of song in the intro please?

Do you have any experience with pedaling? I always get confused when to stop pedaling in things, thus making it sound like a smear of mess :/
ddl1nz1mon 2 years ago 8
From my experience (which is not a lot <_<;) I've noticed that they usually depress and repress the pedal when you start playing a new chord. See if that helps make it sound a little less chaotic. :D
zetsumeikage 2 years ago
right after you hit the note lightly release about 4/5 of the weight on the pedal and then push down again on the next chord etc
montrealelephant232 2 years ago
For me, for example if your playing a song with a time signature of 4/4, I will lift the pedal after every measure (4 beats).
Zeroknightxz 2 years ago
i leave the release and push down the pedal again when the bassline ends and a new one starts
