  • Estupendo! Jajajaja me ha ayudado mucho! ¡Muchas gracias!

PD: Esos acordes son de Canon jajaja

  • Awesome!

  • OK so thanks to your awesome vids I can play the melody of a song and the left hand chords to go with it. Will there be a tutorial on developing the inner voices? I have the worst time figuring out a harmony part to go with my right hand melody. Is there a special technique? Lol

  • inspiring man! thank you for sharing your knowledge. looking forward to more...=D

  • me too! and i can play this song! :)

  • @gsfilo123 that's nice

  • LOL@HEART AND SOUL.

every piano player i know can play that. the ultimate duet song <3

  • cannon is that song that they play in graduation songs i think..or sounds like it

they normally play it on a violin

  • or do u mean pomp and circumstance. gosh.

  • Pretty sure you mean at weddings...

  • OMG! i looove you , I was trying to learn cannon D , you are sooo awsome! yeah officially now i'm your fan!

  • Thank you for this!

  • HEART AND SOUL! I just learned the left hand part from you, thanks! LOL. I could lay the upper part but I could never find the music for the lower half. Haha. Thanks to your example riff, I now know it. Haha.

  • i learn so much from these 5-10 minute videos.

    thank you!!

  • canon??

  • thank you very much. i am taking your lessons very seriously.

  • I just wanted to say thank you for putting up all these videos. I'm a former violinist who now focuses entirely on the double bass and I have no background of piano whatsoever, but these videos are great for anyone who wants to learn to improvise or even compose. ^.^ And I'm even trying to apply these concepts to my own playing, though more for jazz than anything else.

  • what's the name of the song at the very beginning of the video... Im' not talking about heart and soul.

  • cannon in D?!?!?!

  • cannon is a type of song and by d it means the key A-G

  • By D it means the key of D.

  • yea....

  • what title is that song? i heard of it before?

  • heart and soul

  • It's just a funny ritm. As far as i know it doesn't has a real name.

  • whats the name of the song that you played at the beginig of the video?

  • it's an improv he made himself

  • do u mean the riff he played? cuz that was heart and soul

  • heart and soul. i think it was something from the loveboat, or a lame show like that....

    im probably wrong. but yeah...,

  • lol u played the left hand of canon for a bit =O

  • Thank you for posting !!! These videos are awsome ^^_

  • I can hardly wait for #6!!!

  • i didnt smile.

  • Thanks for the help!

Do you have any experience with pedaling? I always get confused when to stop pedaling in things, thus making it sound like a smear of mess :/

  • From my experience (which is not a lot <_<;) I've noticed that they usually depress and repress the pedal when you start playing a new chord. See if that helps make it sound a little less chaotic. :D

  • right after you hit the note lightly release about 4/5 of the weight on the pedal and then push down again on the next chord etc

  • For me, for example if your playing a song with a time signature of 4/4, I will lift the pedal after every measure (4 beats).

  • i leave the release and push down the pedal again when the bassline ends and a new one starts

  • nice

  • nice video, it helped a bit

  • u should have an annotation linking the this video to the last one and so on for each vid ..and vis versa

  • Did this video teach me how to make my own progressions? I really think it should be titled how to vary chord progressions since we are still left wondering how one pulls these sequences out of ones ass. But at least it's a start. I guess Will doesn't want to confuse everyone

  • I didn't, I just tried to "define" it.

The improv that everyone will be doing next lesson will be a C A F G (like the intro/exit song). Later, I will discuss other chord progressions and hopefully people can explore more.

  • thank you

  • Near the middle of the video, is that cannon by pachabel? It sounds just like it, and thanks for the tutorial, good job. woot 300th view

  • yes it was. 8 chord

  • @WillTingMusic the intro music sounds a lot like river flows in you.

    :O

  • Nice tutorial,but I'm from Quebec(Speak french) and doesn't understand those C,F,E blablabla thingsxD

    Nice anyway,thx;)(I sue logic:P)

  • Oh wow, do you really name your chords and notes in French as well?

  • I'm sure they use Doe, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, and Te like many other countries.

  • Comment removed

  • Most countries use that method - like in the Philippines, they use that method instead of A, B, and C ^^

  • i'm from philippines, but i'm using the a-g..

  • Thanks!

  • I don't know what I would do without your videos. Thank you so much for posting these. You are very much appreciated!

  • Awesome video !!

these help me a lot with practicing =]

  • that's fantastic! thanks!

  • yay finally!!

  • i love these videos
