Actually I love the violin solo. It's really adventurous in that you squeeze more chords out of it and take it to places that many lesser musicians would not dare to attempt. I remember a lovely version of this from Peter Skellern many moons ago. Thanks for subscribing to my channel by the way!
Hiya Scott... Well I am glad you finished up your responses. That gives me chance to make a comment. Like Freddy said, you outdid yourselves here. Roll on fellas... This is truly what YouTube is all about. And Barry... Nice soulful playing; suits the mood of the piece a treat. Ain't we the lucky ones having Diesel to edit these videos?
Hey John! Barry here - yup, we're cloned, this edition's here on my channel! Muchos appreciaterados on the comment. As for the edit, I did one take, got a preveiw, then sat back and relaxed (well, slept actually) while the mighty Bodine slaved through the night on the edit. I just spent all night - 8 hrs editing my new one, so when someone else gets to suffer all that, it's a treat!
Well, I'm 'wow'ing too! Glad you like it. My contribution here was minimal. Tha edit, arrangement instruments vocals and mix was all in the hands of my mate Bodine in the US.
I just did one take of violin, and he stiched this fine work together.
I'm honoured to bits by your subscription, thanks. Dunno much about jazz, but I occasionally get to busk along with these heavyweights!
Looking forward to seeing more of you, thanks again!
Waoh!it seems that the staff, thepostprod, became more and more adjusted, here we are ,you haven't delete accidentally the audio file this time ,lol,i wish you a happy new year barry!(your chorus was a regal)
Hi IVMAR! Many thanks for that! No, I didn't delete anything accidentally here! Postproduction was all in the creative hands of my friend Diesel Bodine, aka Scott Crothers,in the USA,
who plays all the instruments and vocals, did the mixing, editing, direction, production and everything else. Not only that, but the whole project came together so fast, it took me by suprise!
This is fabulous Barry! Great stuff! Your violin is very apt, to Scott's great backing. And what a backing track! Wow man! It all comes together superb! Cheers Barry!
I had the pleasure and honour of guesting on this one with the Mighty Bodine.
I also had the very rare pleasure of having all the hard work done for me! Not something that happens that often for me, but I could certainly get used to it!
Collaborations are the way ahead I reckon, and I'm working on a tune just now with another heavywieght 'name' (sshhh!)
Ha-ha, Barry! This video looks and sounds like one I just posted earlier today on my Channel. It's amazing how you had the same ideas for a video as I had. Can anyone say, "Parallel Universe!" LOL & XD
Yuh, the buzz among some of the Bodine road crew hangin out in my kitchen just now, is that they're thinkin of going on the road with a Bodine tribute band, doing old Bodine covers, '30's standards in a bodinesque style n' such. They want to know the deal on the shirts! Hope your day's goin' lovely man! 5.40pm over there.
Hi Barry! I'm trying to catch up on my "comment responses" right now, so I've been at that for the last hour or so. You're one hour off at guessing what time it is here. I'm on EST... Eastern Standard Time. The shirts can be bought from any reputable Hawaiian shirt outlet store. 8-)
Great collaberation Barry, i think your description applies to both of you, two great musicians with an ear for a great sound and song. I especially like the end section, that violin really brings the song out during the guitar solo. These collaborations really are something special and may there be many more
Hey Barry! man what a fantastic job you guys did, scott is such a perfectionist and it shows in video's like this! What a cool lookin' violin, I find it to be an amazing talent to play a frettless instrument so beautifully!! Infinite # of stars for you my friend!!
Dear Dave, how nice to see you over here! - I sent over my first take, and the man works at such a phenomenal pace, that was pretty much it!
I've enjoyed the rare privilege of having all the hard work done for me. That's something I could get used to! It's been a total honour to guest on this project, and I look forward to plenty more
