After the Fall of France in June 1940, Britain (and the Empire) were the only people in the world fighting the Fascists!! The blame for the Arab-Israeli conflict is totally on the heads of the belligerents. Britain was unable to act as a mediator in Palestine, the USA has done no better at the job. Britain supported America in Korea, and politicaly in that dirty war in Vietnam, but I'm begining to wonder why we bother!
